Story
This is Dingo a very loyal and energetic dog. He was adopted from the Humane Society where he was brought in as a stray. He is about 2 and a half years old. He LOVES people! He is scared of other dogs we think from trauma as a stray but he is VERY friendly with his human friends, incredibly loyal and very smart. We are putting him up for adoption because he needs a loving family with a yard and fences to run around in for his energy. Due to some life changes we are unable to spend time with him on his anxieties and hope to find him a loving home in the area where he can live his best life and we would love to visit him sometimes.

Story
Meet Honey: An Independent Queen Looking for a Quiet Sanctuary At 8 ½ years young, Honey is a tiny Chihuahua with a beautiful, introverted soul. She has a past that has made her wary of humans, but she knows exactly what she wants out of her next chapter: a peaceful, safe place to simply be. The Magic of Honey: The Ultimate Peaceful Roommate: Honey isn’t looking for physical affection, cuddles, or pets—and she may never be. Instead, she offers a quiet, gentle presence. Providing a safe haven for a dog who just needs a place to land is a deeply rewarding experience in its own unique way. A Friend to the Flocks: She absolutely thrives around other animals! Honey currently coexists beautifully with both cats and dogs in her foster home. She draws confidence from her furry friends, so a home with a resident pet to help her feel secure and show her that humans can be kind is exactly what she’s hoping for. A Beautiful Spirit: She is quick, independent, and fiercely herself. As her foster family perfectly describes her: trying to catch her is "like trying to scoop up moonlight!" Honey’s Ideal Kingdom: Honey isn’t broken; she’s just writing her own rules. She is looking for a rare "unicorn" adopter who understands that giving love sometimes just means giving space. Securely Fenced Yard: This is a strict requirement, as she cannot be leashed or carried and has zero recall. Calm & Quiet: Preferably an adult-only home (no small children) with a predictable, serene environment for her to feel safe. If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and the patience to let a tiny queen exist safely and comfortably on her own terms, she's waiting for you!   The adoption fee is $250 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2355812##

Story
Major is a 5-year-and-4-month-old Bully mix, tug-toy connoisseur, and slow-living enthusiast who has been with us since 7/9/2022. If you’re looking for a dog who blooms under structure, adores predictable routines, and gives his whole heart to the person he trusts, Major just might be your guy. Major has had a couple of concerning bite incidents in the past—one involving a surprise encounter (based on the information we were given) prior to his arrival at Town and Country Animal Rescue (TAC) and another involving an unsolicited bite to a volunteer at TAC. While the reasons weren’t entirely clear, what was clear was that Major needed more support than we could provide on our own. So we partnered with a professional trainer, and for the last three months Major has been putting in the work. And wow—has he grown. Under leadership, Major absolutely thrives. He responds beautifully to clear communication, calm handlers, and environments where he knows what to expect. He’s come leaps and bounds in training, showing us every day that he wants to succeed and that he’s capable of being an incredible companion in the right home. Major’s ideal lifestyle? - Slow-paced days - Predictable routines - Low traffic housing (no apartment/shared living building spaces)  - A human he can depend on And above all else… his beloved purple tug toy (seriously—this thing is his personality at this point) To give Major the very best shot at success in his new home, his adoption will include a required training component: - One session per week for four weeks with Major’s professional trainer - At no cost to the adopter This ensures a smooth, supported transition and keeps Major practicing the skills he’s worked so hard to build. Major is the type of dog who bonds deeply, listens intently, and puts in genuine effort when he feels safe and understood. He’s not a “wing it” kind of guy—he’s a “give me a plan, give me a leader, and I will give you everything I’ve got” kind of dog. After over two years in the shelter, Major is more than ready for his chance. If you’re experienced, patient, and looking for a loyal, structured companion who will reward your consistency with devotion (and spirited tug sessions), Major may be the perfect match. Come meet him—and don’t forget the purple tug toy. Part of Major's adoption has been sponsored, so his adoption fee is $100 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM Tuesday - Saturday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? This sweet boy is currently working through some anxiety and is looking for a patient, understanding family who will help him feel safe and secure. Once Tucker trusts you, you'll discover a loyal companion who just wants to be loved and included. He deserves a home where he can take things at his own pace, build confidence, and enjoy the comfort of having a family of his very own. The adoption fee is $250 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.
