Story
Hi my name is Serreno! I am a lab/Great Pyrenees mix I am 4 almost 5 and looking for a loving home. Serreno is fully vetted and spayed. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, lay, etc. She does great with other dogs and is good with cats just very interested and curious about them ( thinking they just want to play). Sadly she does not love little kids but is great with adults... a little more timid around men but warms up quickly. She is very loyal, loving and adventurous but also enjoys being a couch potato. She does need some exercise but is not super high maintenance in that area. Serreno is also fence and kennel trained and has never attempted to run. We are looking for a home that is better environment for her and her needs.

Story
Adopted from Nebraska Humane Society when she was a couple months old. I don’t have enough time to give her the attention she needs. She’s tall with long arms and likes to get food off of the counter. Will chew shoes and clothes and blankets. She has countless toys. I don’t have time to walk her everyday and she needs it. She loves walks. I have a large backyard and a doggie door she can go in and out as she pleases and has plenty of space to run. She needs another large high energy dog she can play and rough around with.

Story
This is Kooper. I got him in San Antonio Texas about four years ago. He’s been a great dog I just can’t afford to keep him. I recently lost my job and I’m looking for a good home for him. He gets this skin allergy every fall and I have to squirt some omega fish oil on his food and it clears right up but other than that he’s in good health. I haven’t had his shots yet this year

Story
If you're looking to adopt a sensational senior, Lucy is your girl.  She is an Australian Cattle Dog mix, born Dec 2015.  She is a little timid at first, but will be your best pal once she get to know you.  She is seriously the ideal dog!   She needs a home with a fenced yard and she is usually good with other dogs (we would do a dog intro to make sure she got along with any in your house).  She might prefer to be the only dog in the house, it really depends on the dogs.  She does fine with dogs that don't get in her face.  She gets a little nervous and when they get right in her face.  She's met lots of other dogs she's been fine with.  Here are a few more fun facts: *Good with kids         *House trained *Low energy              *Quiet/doesn't bark much (inside or outside)              *Walks well on a leash *Curious about cats and gets along with them  *Trained to stay off furniture      *No counter surfing for food      *Leaves the trash alone and doesn't chew on anything that is out around the house *She is not kenneled during the day because she's very well behaved, but she is also fine in a kennel. *She only barks if someone rings the doorbell, knocks, or if a visitor leaves. If someone just walks in the house, she doesn't bark. She doesn't even bark at the neighbors or their dogs when she's outside.  *She has 2 medications she takes in the evening for incontinence.  As long as she has them, she doesn't have accidents. She's very good at letting her foster mom know when she needs to go outside.  The medication isn't too expensive.  *She needs to be on Purina ProPlan urinary food. She goes through about a bag and a half during a month.  This food helps reduce the chance of stones forming in her bladder/kidney. *Lucy likes to follow her foster mom around the house to see what she's doing, but if it's not exciting to her, she will go back to her bed and lay down.   If you're looking for a well-behaved senior girl that you don't have to train, Lucy might just be for you. The suggested adoption donation for Lucy is $275. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. Story
This sweet senior is Rainy (b. 2014), a German Shepard/Lab mix.  She is looking for a place where she can have a stable routine for walking and exercise.  She enjoys being active and a fenced yard is needed so she can stretch her legs.  She is also leash trained.  Rainy is friendly with other dogs, cats, new people and kids.  She would even be okay with a canine or feline sibling!  She prefers men and would like to have another dog or cat around.  Apply today to welcome Rainy into your home! The suggested adoption donation for Rainy is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
