Story

Freya was rescued in January 2024. She can be nervous around new people, so a home with a lot of people and chaos is not ideal. She is loyal and loving to her family and those she knows well, but can be defensive and nervous around new people. There are certain people she was never able to let her guard down around, and as a result, would charge and nip at these people (never bit to the point of breaking skin, but still a scary behavior.) Her ideal home will have minimal visitors or owners who are patient with her to work through these behaviors. With young kids around, we unfortunately are worried about everyone’s safety should she remain in our family. Freya is not at all a traveling dog. She has a lot of anxiety surrounding any form of travel, and we have worked extensively with her to build positive associations with traveling in a car, as well as working with her vet to find medications to help ease her anxiety and motion sickness, which help, but she still gets very stressed.

Velociraptor, AKA V-rap or Raptor, has a Jurassic amount of love to share and we can`t wait to see him dino-soar into the right home. He would make an ext-roar-inary addition to a family, and may do best with older children that understand that even dino`s need a break sometimes. We do not have history on his experience with young children, but based on nervous behavior in response to quick movements, we believe dog savvy kids may make the best buddies for him. We do not have prior history on Velociraptor with other dogs. When meeting a female dog at the shelter he showed some over excitement. His body language was largely friendly, but we always recommend a doggy meet and greet before committing to bringing a new pal(aeosaurus) home. If you`ve always wanted to visit Jurassic Park, bringing home this rawr-some boy might just be the next best thing. Stop by and meet Velociraptor today for a roaring good time.Velociraptor is waiting to be neutered but is available to be placed on a pre-adoption hold. All holds must be placed in person.
