Story
Honey is exactly what her name suggests — gentle, warm, and impossibly sweet. In her foster home, she has been an absolute dream. From day one, she picked up house training and crate training beautifully, simply following the resident dogs outside for potty breaks and settling right into the routine like she had always belonged. She is a quiet, respectful little lady who truly knows how to be the perfect house guest. Honey may not rush up demanding attention when you first meet her, but that’s part of what makes her so special. She is calm, polite, and observant, often sitting nearby with her paws sweetly crossed as she watches the world around her. Rather than being pushy or loud, Honey takes her time learning that she is safe. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes your gentle shadow, happily following you from room to room just to be near you. You can see how much she wants to connect — she just needs a patient heart willing to let her bloom at her own pace. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding for her foster family. Honey has already overcome more than most dogs her age ever should. She arrived underweight, heartworm positive, and in need of surgery to remove a mass. Through it all, she has been an A++++ patient. She stands calmly for incision care and bandage changes and has handled crate rest during heartworm treatment like a true champion. Even the veterinary staff couldn’t stop praising her sweet and cooperative nature — and we completely agree. She is wonderful for baths, nail trims, and handling of all kinds. Honey gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and even chickens. She takes comfort in the presence of other animals and would thrive in a home with a confident canine sibling to help guide her and continue building her confidence. Honey is approximately 2 years old, spayed, and microchipped. She is looking for a patient, loving home that understands the most meaningful bonds are sometimes the ones that grow slowly — and last forever Adoption is $300 which includes her spay, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip and current monthly prevention.
