Story
Bodhi was adopted from Brown county humane society on May 24, 2024. He had been taken in as a stray and posted to the facility’s Facebook page. Since the adoption we have discovered that he has more severe issues than my family was prepared to handle. Bodhi is a lover to his core, loves to play with stuffy toys and anything that squeaks. He loves to run, sun bathe, and snuggle. He absolutely hates the rain and will 100% refuse to go out for potties. He will designate one toy to be his ‘baby’ that he carries around, cuddles, and will not destroy. Other toys beware though! He is a super chewer! Bo must be the only dog in the home. He gets very anxious with young children. He is very protective of his people and that unfortunately has become our biggest issue. He is a master escape artist and has separation anxiety. Bodhi absolutely loves tearing through trash cans left in his reach as well as most anything on counters or tables that he can reach.

Story
Charlie is a 7-years young, 12-pound Yorkie Bichon (Yorkie-Chon). With a smile that makes bulldogs jealous and 'i have my therapist on speed dial' vibes, Charlie is not looking for an adventure. Adventure is for other dogs. Charlie is looking for a couch, a routine, and a human who understands that his needs are simple. But non-negotiable. How did a handsome guy like Charlie end up looking for a new home? Sadly, his person passed away. He was devestated in the way that only a loyal little guy like him could be, and he's been figuring out what life looks like now. He's getting there. He just needs the right landing spot. As you might have guessed, Charlie is not a 'go with the flow' kind of pup. He's particular. Knows what he wants. Definitely knows what he doesn't want (you can put that leash away because cardio is not on his agenda). Thrives on routine. Prefers to know where you are at all times. Not in a conjoined twin way, more in a "I would like you to remain visible or I will have concerns" way. If you've ever watched Sheldon Cooper manage an unexpected change of plans, congratulation, you now have a working understanding of Charlie's inner dialogue. As mentioned, walks are not his thing but he does great in the car. Shotgun, naturally. He coexists with respectful small dogs just fine and will occasionally, when the mood strikes, acknowledge them. Big dogs are on the 'no' list, they are clearly plotting his death (even if they don't know he exists). Cats don't seem to interest him one way or the other. Human food, on the other hand, interests him enormously and he believes kibble is his personal cross to bear when he should CLEARLY be eating human food.  When his foster family gets too rowdy, he serves up his signature "you have been judged and found guilty" look and relocates to his crate until they can behave more civilized. Like him. He sleeps in the bed. Because comfort is a priority for Charlie.  Housebreaking took a temporary hit, partly trauma, partly a strong opinion about cold weather, but seems to be back on track! We've been on a great winning streak even with the late february snow! Charlie needs someone who is home. A remote worker, a young retired senior who keeps a quiet house, someone whose schedule is a rhythm he can learn and count on. He doesn't need constant attention but he needs to know his person will be there. Once he trusts that you're staying, he will settle into your life like he was always supposed to be in it. Charlie requires professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. If you have a groomer referral, please include it with your application. If you have additional questions about Charlie, please email his current foster therapist (kidding) at 4leggedlayover@gmail.com Adoption Fee: $400, which includes neuter, DENTAL, microchip, vaccines, and current prevention. They will all be altered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go to their new homes after March 25, 2026. We will do individual postings as soon as we get good pictures. Story
Meet Dawn, the little ray of sunshine you’ve been waiting for! Born on November 27, 2025, this 5.1 lb Mini Schnauzer/Mini Aussie mix is ready to brighten your world. ☀️ A Bright Spirit Personality: Just like her name, Dawn is full of hope and morning energy. Look: She has the classic Schnauzer charm mixed with that spunky Aussie intelligence. Vibe: She doesn’t let anything dim her light; she’s all about play, snuggles, and warmth. 🌼 Special Care Dawn views the world a little differently, but her heart sees everything perfectly! Vision: Dawn is blind in one eye, though it doesn't slow her down one bit. Health: To keep her remaining eye shining bright, she needs a family committed to monitoring her eye pressure for life. Currently, Dawn does not need eye medication or enucleation, but either of these could be needed in the future. Dawn needs a family that will be open to her care needs. Needs: Regular vet check-ups will ensure her "sunny side" stays healthy and pain-free. 🏡 Her Forever Horizon Dawn is looking for a home where her unique needs are met with love and care. If you have a spot on your rug for a golden-hearted pup, Dawn is ready to start every day by your side. Story
This is Dory she is a 3 year old AKC registered mini poodle. She is very playful and loves to play fetch or tug of war. Dory isn’t a big fan of car rides but is always game for a long walk. She is good with other dogs, gentle children, and most cats but does enjoy teasing them. Dory is UTD on all of her shots, flea medicine, and is spayed and house trained. She’s looking for a new home due to lack of time and attention with her owners new responsibilities as a caregiver. We’re not in a rush to find her a home so we are looking for the perfect fit but know that there is someone else out there who can give her the time and attention she deserves.

Story
Meet Sky, a 5.1-pound bundle of joy who proves that you don't need perfect vision to have a perfect heart! ☁️ Born on November 27, 2025, this Mini Schnauzer / Mini Aussie mix (a "Schnauzie!") is ready to find a family who sees exactly how special she is. 👁️ A Unique Perspective Sky is blind in one eye, but don't tell her that—she hasn't noticed! She navigates the world with confidence, relying on her keen Aussie intelligence and classic Schnauzer "pioneer spirit." She may have a slightly different view of the world, but her focus is always on her favorite humans. 🌟 Why You’ll Fall for Sky: The Look: A petite 5-pound "confetti" coat with the adorable whiskers of a Schnauzer. The Brains: Half Mini Aussie means she’s incredibly smart; she’ll likely learn your house rules in record time. The Vibe: She’s a "velcro dog" who loves to stay close, making her the ultimate tiny shadow. The Resilience: Her visual impairment doesn't slow her down; she plays, explores, and snuggles just like any other pup. 🏡 What Sky Needs: A "Guide" Family: Someone patient who can help her navigate new environments safely. Predictable Spaces: A home where the furniture doesn't move too often so she can map out her kingdom. Big Love: She’s small in stature but huge in personality—she deserves a lap that’s always available. Sky is looking for a home where her "imperfection" is seen as a badge of courage.
