Dex is a Labradoodle who was born 9/27/2024 and weighs 68 pounds. His owner was ill and unable to care for him anymore. He is good with other dogs and children. Cats are an unknown. Dex is participating in the cell dog program which is where the dog stays at the prison with a dog handler working on basic obedience and house, crate, and leash training. It’s an amazing program! This wonderful guy was surrounded by my daughter to me because she got evicted. Shots and neuter next week. He’s full of puppy energy and a little undisciplined but in the 6 days I’ve had him, hes done great at learning from us. He’s so happy to be with people he’s able to connect with but we unfortunately can’t keep him. We already have 2 dogs and can’t take care of 3. He loves walks, cuddling and licking and just being a puppy. I’m working on his jumping and sharing with the other 2 dogs but in 6 days, he’s done a complete 180 with the other 2 dogs. He loves them but he’s not sure how to act when they are eating and drinking but it’s been very easy to get him to learn and allow the other dogs eat. That’s why I said someone experienced but I have no doubt in 2 weeks, he will not even care about sharing food. He is crate trained.
