Story
Sugar is as sweet as her name suggests! This pretty girl recently arrived at FDHS alongside her friend Spice (who is also available!). Sugar greets her caregivers with the happiest little smile and a wagging tail, always ready to bounce into the day with her cheerful energy. She seems genuinely excited about everything, whether it’s playtime, a walk, or just saying hello.Since she previously lived with another dog, we think Sugar would likely do well with a canine companion in her new home. We’re not sure how she feels about cats just yet, but with slow, proper introductions, we think she could adjust just fine.Sugar also keeps a nice, tidy space in her kennel and would just need a bit of practice polishing up her leash manners. She is scheduled to be spayed and is currently accepting applications to find her forever home!

Story
My name is Spice, and I recently arrived at FDHS with my friend Sugar (she’s here too!). I’m a gorgeous German Shepherd and I’m told I’m a very good girl… just with a little extra razzle dazzle.I have some pretty big feelings, which is something a lot of Shepherds share. The shelter has been a tough place for me because it’s loud and busy, and that can make an already anxious girl feel a little overwhelmed. But if you take me out of the kennels and spend some one-on-one time with me, you’ll see the real me. Out in the yard, away from all the noise, I’m pretty close to perfect.I’m smart, eager to please, and very motivated by treats. I may not have had a ton of formal training yet, but I’m ready to learn and I think I’ll pick up new commands very quickly. I do need a little help with my leash manners, but I have great recall in the fenced yard and I try really hard to listen. I also keep my kennel nice and clean and I’m not very destructive with my toys.I can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but with a soft voice and a few snacks, I warm up quickly. I’ve been a bit reactive with some of the other shelter dogs, but it’s hard to be your best self in a place like this. We don’t know yet how I am with kids or small animals. The people here think the real me is just waiting to shine once I’m in a calm, loving home. I’m just looking for my person… someone who understands a girl like me.

Story
Meet Neyo! Found as a stray, Neyo has already come a long way on his journey. When we contacted the owner listed on his microchip, we were sadly told they didn’t want him anymore. Just like that, Neyo was left needing a new beginning. At first, Neyo needed some time to learn that people could be kind to him. Our team has worked hard to help him build trust, and watching him open up has been incredibly rewarding. One thing about Neyo — he absolutely hates the kennel. The difference in him when he’s outside of it is amazing. Once he’s out, he’s friendly, affectionate, and just wants to hang out and spend time with his people. Neyo does have some resource guarding with food and treats, so he will need an experienced owner who is willing to work with him and continue helping him feel secure. Because of this, we recommend an adult-only home. The right person will see what we see — a dog who just needs someone willing to give him patience, guidance, and love. Neyo has shown that he can be dog friendly, and with the right home and continued support, he has so much potential to thrive. Neyo is a special dog who needs a special person. If you’re interested in meeting Neyo, please message us or email euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com
