Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Pearl!  Pearl is a beautiful female Havanese with a sweet spirit and a heart full of love. Born around March 10, 2024, this little lady weighs just 16.2 pounds and is the perfect size for cuddles, companionship, and tagging along on life’s adventures. Pearl came to rescue when her previous owners could no longer care for her. While that change was hard for her, she hasn’t let it dim her bright personality. She’s a gentle, affectionate girl who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children, making her a fantastic addition to many types of families. This smart pup already walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out for strolls and exploring the world by your side. Pearl truly deserves a home where she will be cherished and treated like the princess she is—complete with love, cozy naps, and plenty of attention. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will bring joy and sweetness to your home, Pearl may be the perfect match for you. Adoption Fee: $400 Apply to adopt Pearl at:  www.adoggie4you.org Give this precious girl the happily ever after she deserves! This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
Azareth had a rough 2025. He was originally found as a stray with a broken pelvis from being hit by a car. After healing, Azareth was adopted, only to be returned due to bladder stones. Azareth, or Azzie, is thriving in foster home and even helps welcome other foster dogs into the mix. Azzie can be high energy and fun loving. This little guy loves to play! He’s content playing by himself but also enjoys having someone to have to play with as well. Azzie loves to be outdoors! If you’re looking for a pup for hiking, going to the park or just daily walks, Azzie is ready to be your little adventure companion. For a little guy, Azzie has a loud personality and with the right family, it will be the perfect blend! He might need a little time in the beginning to adjust to new surroundings and new people, but once you are in Azzie’s circle of trust, he loves you and loves hard! Azzie has been around cats but thinks it fun to chase them so cats may not be a good fit. He has also been around children, but a slow introduction is still recommended. Azzie never says no to a game of chase with them. Azzie makes the cutest pair leg warmers since his favorite play to lay is on your legs. This snuggle bug will also keep you warm at night, sleeping right by your side. Azzie needs to be on special food due to his propensity to have bladder stones. He eats both wet and dry urinary prescription food. Some side effects from the prescription food can be increase thirst and urination, which is normal. This does make it hard for house training, however Azzie is good at using pee pads. I hope that someone takes a chance on Azzie, giving him the time he needs to adjust to a new environment. Once you get to know him, he’s just a great little guy and has so much to offer someone who’s ready to add some personality to their home. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Story
Arwin is a magnificent one-year old male Black Labrador Retriever who arrived at the HSOV on March 1, 2026 in black/gold cruiser driven by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who had picked Arwin up on Everson Road in Belpre Ohio. Arwin seemed to enjoy the ride and his 'celebrity' status~ This good-looking young man has a shiny black coat with white marking on his throat/chest, white paws, rather long legs, a long tail, and a handsome face with dark brown eyes, a slender muzzle, and floppy ears. Arwin has some characteristic features of the Great Dane breed, so it's possible he has some Dane ancestors in his family tree. Arwin is merely a very large overgrown 'puppy' who was full of playful antics when HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn Moore assisted him with his photo session on the afternoon of March 6th. Arwin weighs 71 lbs. He was enthusiastic and energetic when walking on a leash with Tracy .. And he was nearly as tall as Tracy when he put his paws around her shoulders to give her puppy kisses. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Arwin was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for this big boy, so he is available as a foster-to-adopt with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application while he awaits his neuter procedure. He can be officially adopted after he is neutered.
