Story
Ramapo is a sweet and friendly boy ready to find his new home! Ramapo came to us from a home with many other dogs where the conditions were very poor. Because of this, he likely didn’t get the chance to experience many normal puppy things like meeting lots of new people, exploring different environments, or learning how to walk on a leash. Everything is a little new for him right now, so he may feel nervous around loud noises, fast movements, or unfamiliar places. With patience and kindness, we believe Ramapo’s personality will truly blossom in a home. He’ll benefit from an adopter who is willing to go slow, help him build confidence, and use positive reinforcement to show him that new experiences can be safe and fun. He’s just beginning his leash training and will need someone who can continue helping him learn the basics.Ramapo previously lived with multiple other dogs and has not shown concerns when seeing dogs here at the shelter. A dog meet-and-greet is always recommended to make sure play styles are a good match. Come meet your new best friend today!

Story
Meet Huey! This goofy, fun-loving guy is always ready to make the most of every adventure. Whether he`s exploring the great outdoors, tossing toys around the yard, or soaking up attention from his favorite people, Huey brings plenty of enthusiasm wherever he goes.Huey is an energetic dog who sometimes gets a little too excited. When he`s overstimulated, he may jump up or mouth while playing, so he`s looking for a home with adults or older, dog-savvy teenagers who can help him practice appropriate ways to channel his excitement using positive reinforcement and consistency.Huey enjoys the company of other dogs and has been friendly and playful during his shelter introductions. Because his play style can be a bit over-the-top and he doesn`t always recognize when another dog has had enough, he`ll need to meet any potential canine companions before heading home to make sure they`re a good match. He is not a fit for a home with cats or other small animals, as he has a history of chasing and becoming overly focused on them.Huey is a smart, affectionate boy with lots of potential. With an active family, continued training, and plenty of opportunities to burn off his energy, he`s sure to become a loyal and entertaining companion. If you`re looking for a dog who`s always ready for fun and will keep life exciting, Huey can`t wait to meet you!
