Story
Tristan here is, in our opinion, the quintessential large dog. He does give off puppy in a large body vibes, but can you blame him? Everything is exciting, so why not be happy and active about it! While he’s super active, we will admit he can be a lil stubborn at times…he is quickly approaching his dog tween years. But just look at him, he’s extremely handsome that he’s been coined Mr. Handsome here at the shelter! If you think you can handle Mr. Handsome here, come stop by!

Story
Jax is a 1-year-4-month old Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix weighing 96 pounds. This big boy has no clue of his size and has no manners! He would benefit from obedience training (keep in mind obedience training is for you and the dog). Experienced adopters only! Jax is a very playful dog, he will play with anything he can get ahold of. Loves his herding ball and tug. Weighing in at 96 plus pounds he's known for stepping and jumping on people, he also fully believes he's a lap dog! He's quick to learn but is very stubborn. He has no leash manners, did we mention he needs obedience training?! He is housebroken and has previously lived with cats and another large dog. He will require a special diet and allergy medication, most likely for the rest of his life. He's not a big fan of baths, he had to have medicated baths regularly when he first arrived at the shelter. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO*PREVIOUS DOG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED* Oliver is a 2-year old Pug mix weighing 14 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Oliver is nervous with new people, a slow approach, time and patience needed. Oliver has food aggression, he will bite if a hand is near his food bowl. Multiple trips to the shelter will be needed for him to get to know you. Once trust is established Oliver is very affectionate and cuddly. Treat motivated, takes treats gently. Knows the command sit. Good on a leash, harness reccomended. Oliver is a barker! He's on high alert and will let you know if someone is around. He loves to play tug and to burrow in his blankets. Needs some work with housebreaking, was just neutered, might still be marking. Fearful of cats but would probably chase them. Unsure of other dogs-lacking socialization. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Story
Corneilus is a 1 year and 2 month old Terrier Mix weighing 30 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Cornelius is a very energetic and spunky dog. He loves belly rubs and cuddles when he's not running and jumping around. Speaking of jumping, this guy has springs on his feet! He loves toys of all kinds and is quick to destroy them, destructive chewer! Would benefit from obedience training, can be mouthy with hands and pant legs, but is easily redirected-treat motivated. Has no leash manners (pulls) harness recommended until he learns. Suspected separation anxiety. Seems good with other dogs but goes after their legs and feet (not aggressive just a jerk)His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Story
Jalene is a 3 year and 7 month old Boxer/Bulldog mix weighing 38 pounds. She came to the shelter as a stray so her history is unknown. She was recently adopted and returned due to some jealousy of the other dog in the home. She still does well with other dogs but should be the only dog in the home due to her not wanting to share attention. Jalene is a petite girl with a large personality! She is full of sassiness, cuddles and kisses! She likes to go for walks but pulls, needs leash training and a harness is required to prevent trachea damage. She is very smart and curious. She is quick to learn. She loves treat puzzles and knows commands sit and paw. She is selective with treats and loves stuffed toys. Plays fetch and and enjoys other outdoor toys, lots of energy. She thinks she is a lap dog and wants to be with you all the time. No cats permitted in her new home. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. (when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Huxley is a 2 year 3 month old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. PLEASE READ THE FULL BIO! Huxley is NOT for the 1st time dog owner!! His combination of breeds makes him a very active, energetic, intelligent, and stubborn dog! He will not do well if left alone or confined for more than a few hours at a time, this will lead to depression and destructive behavior. Huxley is very friendly and outgoing, he wants to be everyone's friend. Knows commands sit and paw. Obedience training is recommended, has no leash manners. Very affectionate, gives the biggest hugs and gentlest of kisses. Weekly grooming/brushing is needed. Was not overly interested in cats, may have never seen them before. Is selective with other dogs, and has an alpha personality. He will not be placed in a home with small children (under 12 years old).THIS BREED SHOULD NEVER BE LET OFF LEASH!!! Huskies love to run and unless they are carefully guarded and only allowed to run free in enclosed areas, an off-leash Husky will soon become a lost Husky...or worse. Please do not think that if you do the training, that you will be able to trust your Husky off-leash.His adoption fee is $200, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention, and microchipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at the time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75.
