Story
Hi, I’m Casper. I’m a big, gentle guy with an even bigger heart. I’m house trained, well behaved, and I love being around people. I get along great with other dogs and kids, but cats aren’t really my thing. I’m affectionate, confident, and happiest when I’m close to my people, whether that’s playing with toys, going for a walk where I stay right by your side, or soaking up attention. I’m a true cuddle dog and I love hugs, wagging my tail every chance I get. I’m still working on remembering not to jump when I get excited, but that just comes from how happy I am to meet new friends. If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet, and loving companion who wants to be part of your everyday life, I might be your perfect match.

Story
Hi, I’m Popcorn! I’m a 4-month-old Pyrenees mix weighing about 17 pounds, and I’m as sweet as my name. I get along great with other dogs and kids, and while I’m still unsure about cats, I’m a gentle, affectionate boy who loves being around people. I enjoy playing with toys, exploring new things, and soaking up attention whenever I can. I’m confident, curious, and very treat motivated, which makes learning new skills fun for me. I’m still working on my leash manners, but I’m eager to please and ready to keep growing with a family who will guide me along the way. I can’t wait to find my forever home and be someone’s loyal little sidekick.

Story
Molly was found at around 8 weeks old on the side of the road and we took her in. She got along well with our other dogs but unfortunately my wife and I were expecting in the near future and we were unable to keep up with the energy of a puppy as well as keeping a newborn entertained. We want to find a loving home that she can run around and play like she deserves.

Hi, I’m Emmy, a 40-pound Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. I can be a little shy at first, but once I feel safe, I’m incredibly sweet and affectionate. I get along well with other dogs and kids, and I love walking right beside you on a leash. I’m curious, well behaved, and happiest when I’m close to my people. I’m a very shy girl, but I’m also very sweet and gentle. I enjoy attention and will gladly soak up all the love you’re willing to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, calm companion who just needs a little patience to blossom, I might be your perfect match.

Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions***     Flurry is a 3 months  old (as of 2/1 /26) possibly Great Pyrenees/Australian cattle dog mix puppy. His litter was left at the back door of a local shelter at just one week of age.  His foster mom saw a plea and brought him in to the Legacy Humane fold!  Flurry  loves to be played with, is attentive to his person, sweet and fun. He likes to climb in his foster mom’s lap for a snuggle. He also enjoys finding a quiet corner for a good nap. He has one blue eye and one brown eye. He is generally gentle and calm. He can be a bit shy in new situations but warms up faster if a nice doggy friend is around. He prefers a quiet calm home. He has a special love for his foster dad. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. Flurry is potty trained in his foster home and is expected to learn the rules and setup in his new home easily. Flurry is hesitant with kids who are not calm but he is gentle. So far he does well with other dogs and cats. Flurry responds well to corrections from dogs and curtails his behavior accordingly. He would do best in a home with a yard.    Current weight: 26 lbs Projected weight 80+ lbs Crate trained    We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes his neuter, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative.  If you're interested in meeting or adopting him, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Adopter will take puppy to an LHS approved vet to be neutered in July of 2025 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.    We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
