Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Phoebe!  She is a sweet, submissive, dog-friendly, freckled badger-faced, female Great Pyrenees rescued from a local shelter. Phoebe is almost 4 yrs old and weighs 80 pounds.  Phoebe is a little shy when new people approach her, but she will walk right up to you on her own for pets and loving. Phoebe is good with dogs. She enjoys playing with larger dogs and leaves little dogs alone.  She is house trained and is good on a leash, but has a tendency to pull.  She rides well in a car and loves to look out the window.   Phoebe is very afraid of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, so she needs a little nook to hide in when she feels compelled. She is also not a fan of grooming. However she does love keeping squirrels and birds out of her yard. Phoebe is a very loving girl just waiting for her forever home. Currently she is in a foster home North of Dallas, Texas. Any out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation. Phoebe is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250. Become an approved adopter with SPIN Rescue and we can put you in touch with her foster to arrange a meet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Barry! He is a gentle, goofy, laidback, 1yr old, 90lb male Great Pyrenees mix. Barry has a lot more of a white Lab build and coat, but still total Pyrenees couch potato energy, even as a puppy! His foster family affectionately calls him 'Butter Bear' because he is so sweet and squishy. He is sweet with people. He can be a little bashful, but will give you gentle kisses and snuggles. He did great at our recent adoption event meeting lots of little kids and adults, he didn't jump up on anyone and ended up laying down calmly.  Barry is great with dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with the large dogs in his foster home. He hasn't been tested with cats or small dogs, but his foster family thinks he would do well with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Barry is very go with the flow. He is house trained. He walks beautifully on the leash, keeping a perfect strolling pace! He gets a little nervous during car rides and will drool a lot.  He has been with his foster family since he was a young puppy found on the streets, so he will need his forever family to be patient with him while he settles in. Barry is currently in a foster home in DFW area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation - most make the drive themselves. Barry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.  Apply to meet and adopt Barry at www.spinrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2025, 6:54 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Merlin! He is a 4.5 years old, 95lbs, male Great Pyrenees. Merlin is the definition of a gentle giant with a sensitive soul.  True to his Great Pyrenees nature, he's a laid-back companion who spends most of his day napping and observing his kingdom. But don't let that fool you, when the mood strikes, Merlin comes alive with bursts of playful energy! He loves romping around with the other large dog in his foster home, playing with squeaky toys, and his favorite, destroying boxes.  Merlin is a sweetheart who adores hanging out with kids and will gladly accept pets and attention. He takes a little time to warm up to new people, but quickly becomes friends if you bring him some cheese. He is a gentleman and doesn't jump up on people or the couch, even when invited up. He is also not a fan of stairs.  He plays beautifully with other big dogs and must have another large dog in his forever home as he gets anxious when left alone. When he first arrived at his foster home, there were two scuffles over dropped kibble, but with separate feeding areas and no bones in the house, there has been zero issues since.  Merlin is a smart cookie who knows sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and shake (though he'll give you a look that says 'really?' when you ask for that last one). He has also learned to open latch doors. Whether he actually performs these commands depends entirely on his mood, he has that independent Pyr streak.  He also knows "wait" for crossing streets and has decent leash manners, though he will pull if something scares him. High traffic areas stress him out, but he loves peaceful trails and wading through water. Merlin can be sensitive and need extra reassurance when it comes to thunder, vacuums, garbage trucks, and skateboards. He can also be vocal and not shy about sharing his opinions.  Merlin is a loyal, loving companion who has been through a lot but has so much love left to give. He is house trained, great in the car, wonderful with respectful kids, and once he warms up to you (don't forget to bring the cheese!), you'll have a gentle giant who just wants to be part of your pack.  If you have room in your home and heart for a sensitive soul who needs a confidence dog sibling, Merlin may just be your perfect match. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1yr old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. All SPIN dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Please go to our website, www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 16, 2025, 10:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tucker! He is a 1yr old, 70 pound, friendly, male Great Pyrenees. Tucker is a good boy with a lot of energy and love to give. He was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter before coming into SPIN Rescue.  Tucker enjoys playing with the small and big dogs in his foster home. He has not been cat tested.  He has done well during public outings and is good with kids and new people. He is good on a leash and rides well in the car, although not always happy about getting into the car. He is doing well with crate training, usually opting to self crate to take a nap. He doesn't bark much.  We are working with Tucker to help with some of his less desirable behaviors, such as counter surfing and chewing on inappropriate items... he is still a puppy after all. There may need to be a learning curve in his forever home while he gets settles and learns the rules. He loves heavy duty chew toys and sometimes will play fetch, though he doesn't always bring it back.  Overall, Tucker is a sweet boy who is eager to be loved and will show you with occasional kisses. He will make a fantastic companion! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2025, 7:17 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Jojo! He is a friendly, playful male Great Pyrenees mix. He is currently 75 pounds but will probably grow a little more as he ages into a full adult.  Jojo loves everyone and just wants to be everyone's friend. He does well with kids and is gentle enough to let kids come to pet him. He enjoys receiving affection.  Jojo is currently in a foster home with many dogs and integrated into the pack very quickly, he loves playing with them. He does great meeting new dogs. He loves going to the dog park to say hello to everyone and play with as many dogs as he can. He can play a little rough when he gets full of himself, but will back off if the other dogs lets him know when he is being too much. He loves Nyla bones and laying next to the other dogs in his foster home. He does not have any food aggression issues with people but will growl some if a dog gets close when he is eating. He has not been cat tested, but has a low prey drive so may do well with cats.  Jojo loves walks and meeting the world. He barks some in the backyard when he hears a strange noise or close car but is not particularly vocal.  He is crate trained but not a big fan of the crate, will whine some to remind you. He does okay in the car, he will jump right in but gets a little nervous during rides and will try to be as close to you as possible. He is mostly house trained, this is something that has been improving since he arrived at SPIN Rescue.  He has a moderate to high amount of energy, as he is still young. He would do well in a home where he can get long daily walks or have another playful dog.  Jojo is currently in a foster home in DFW, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport on their own. The adoption fee is $250. Jojo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Apply to meet and adopt Jojo at www.spinrescue.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 9, 2026, 5:59 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Hopper — and I’m ready to bounce into your life! I’m a 1 year old Anatolian Shepherd mix with a big heart, a goofy smile, and a tail that never stops wagging. They named me Hopper because I’ve got a little spring in my step and a whole lot of love in my soul. I’m the full package: friendly, loving, loyal, and full of fun. I love meeting new people, I’m great with other dogs and kids, and I’ve got just the right mix of playful energy and laid-back charm. Two of my favorite things? Going for walks and splashing in the water — seriously, if there’s a puddle, a kiddie pool, or a stream nearby, count me in! Whether we’re on the move or hanging out at home, I’m just happy to be by your side. &#226&#156&#168 A few things about me: &#226&#156&#133 Young & full of life &#226&#156&#133 Neutered &#226&#156&#133 Up to date on vaccines &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped Take treats gently Great with dogs and kids Super friendly with new people ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Love walks and adventures Splashing in the water is my jam &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Loyal, loving, and ready to bond for life I may be young, but I’m already dreaming of a forever home — one with people who will love me for who I am and help me keep growing into the amazing dog I’m meant to be. Think we’re a match? I’ll be the one wagging at the kennel door, hoping today’s the day I go home. Love, HopperNovember 29, 2025, 6:17 pm
