Story
This is Miss Moon! We found her on the side of the road when she was only 4 weeks old! We lived on a farm then and she was so happy. Vet guessed that she is a purebred as she has the double dew-claw, but petite for a Great Pyrenees as well, they were thinking she may have been a runt. We got her fixed, got all her puppy shots and have been enjoying her since. She'll be 6yrs old in May. We had to move and brought her with us but, lately she has become very anxious and reacts to loud sounds and just can not seem to relax here in our home due to all the activity and sounds in our neighborhood. On top of this this last year our youngest son's allergies have been horrible and the doctors have said that we need to unfortunately rehome our furry pets to help his health. We do not make this decision lightly! She will come with her crate, some toys, some food, food bowl. She knows basic commands. Loves being loved on, grooming is a challenge at times. She's loyal and protective.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Phoebe!  She is a sweet, submissive, dog-friendly, freckled badger-faced, female Great Pyrenees rescued from a local shelter. Phoebe is almost 4 yrs old and weighs 80 pounds.  Phoebe is a little shy when new people approach her, but she will walk right up to you on her own for pets and loving. Phoebe is good with dogs. She enjoys playing with larger dogs and leaves little dogs alone.  She is house trained and is good on a leash, but has a tendency to pull.  She rides well in a car and loves to look out the window.   Phoebe is very afraid of loud noises like thunder and fireworks, so she needs a little nook to hide in when she feels compelled. She is also not a fan of grooming. However she does love keeping squirrels and birds out of her yard. Phoebe is a very loving girl just waiting for her forever home. Currently she is in a foster home North of Dallas, Texas. Any out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation. Phoebe is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $250. Become an approved adopter with SPIN Rescue and we can put you in touch with her foster to arrange a meet. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Barry! He is a gentle, goofy, laidback, 1yr old, 90lb male Great Pyrenees mix. Barry has a lot more of a white Lab build and coat, but still total Pyrenees couch potato energy, even as a puppy! His foster family affectionately calls him 'Butter Bear' because he is so sweet and squishy. He is sweet with people. He can be a little bashful, but will give you gentle kisses and snuggles. He did great at our recent adoption event meeting lots of little kids and adults, he didn't jump up on anyone and ended up laying down calmly.  Barry is great with dogs. He loves to play and roughhouse with the large dogs in his foster home. He hasn't been tested with cats or small dogs, but his foster family thinks he would do well with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Barry is very go with the flow. He is house trained. He walks beautifully on the leash, keeping a perfect strolling pace! He gets a little nervous during car rides and will drool a lot.  He has been with his foster family since he was a young puppy found on the streets, so he will need his forever family to be patient with him while he settles in. Barry is currently in a foster home in DFW area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging their own transportation - most make the drive themselves. Barry is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.  Apply to meet and adopt Barry at www.spinrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2025, 6:54 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Merlin! He is a 4.5 years old, 95lbs, male Great Pyrenees. Merlin is the definition of a gentle giant with a sensitive soul.  True to his Great Pyrenees nature, he's a laid-back companion who spends most of his day napping and observing his kingdom. But don't let that fool you, when the mood strikes, Merlin comes alive with bursts of playful energy! He loves romping around with the other large dog in his foster home, playing with squeaky toys, and his favorite, destroying boxes.  Merlin is a sweetheart who adores hanging out with kids and will gladly accept pets and attention. He takes a little time to warm up to new people, but quickly becomes friends if you bring him some cheese. He is a gentleman and doesn't jump up on people or the couch, even when invited up. He is also not a fan of stairs.  He plays beautifully with other big dogs and must have another large dog in his forever home as he gets anxious when left alone. When he first arrived at his foster home, there were two scuffles over dropped kibble, but with separate feeding areas and no bones in the house, there has been zero issues since.  Merlin is a smart cookie who knows sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and shake (though he'll give you a look that says 'really?' when you ask for that last one). He has also learned to open latch doors. Whether he actually performs these commands depends entirely on his mood, he has that independent Pyr streak.  He also knows "wait" for crossing streets and has decent leash manners, though he will pull if something scares him. High traffic areas stress him out, but he loves peaceful trails and wading through water. Merlin can be sensitive and need extra reassurance when it comes to thunder, vacuums, garbage trucks, and skateboards. He can also be vocal and not shy about sharing his opinions.  Merlin is a loyal, loving companion who has been through a lot but has so much love left to give. He is house trained, great in the car, wonderful with respectful kids, and once he warms up to you (don't forget to bring the cheese!), you'll have a gentle giant who just wants to be part of your pack.  If you have room in your home and heart for a sensitive soul who needs a confidence dog sibling, Merlin may just be your perfect match. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, Texas. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1yr old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. All SPIN dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. Please go to our website, www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 16, 2025, 10:42 pm
