Story
Meet the lovely Amelia! This wonderful dog was rescued as a stray in Fresno, and brought to FDR for a second chance at life. While she was very timid at arrival, within a few days she blossomed into a loving and affectionate sweetheart with the people she knows, and is ready to find the forever family that will support and nurture her as she continues to open up and gain confidence! She is a very brave girl who enjoys walks and has expanded her social circle with the help of our great volunteer team. Upon first meeting Amelia she may seem shy, but it just takes a couple of treats and a friendly voice for her to open up! She has silly mannerisms, is coy and cuddly, and it's impossible to not smile when you're spending time with her. She is truly a special dog and we can't rave enough about how much we adore her. Amelia will be a wonderful companion to a home that is as loving as she is. *Be sure to remember, Northern Breeds have an intense prey drive. Not suitable around cats, small dogs under 20lbs, or other small animals. Apply for this beautiful girl today! Adoption donation is $495.

Story
Meet Vincent Van Gogh! When he first came to the shelter he was pretty wary of people, but now he's warmed up and knows that when he sees people he'll get to go on walks and adventures with his dog pals! Walks with his buddies are his favorite parts of the day. He loves to stop and smell the flowers. He's been patiently waiting for his forever home, and will be happiest with a female canine companion in his future household! He'd love to be in a husky savvy home with very secure fencing, that won't let him out unsupervised in a backyard! We've loved watching him grow into a much more confident and social dog, and know that he'll continue to progress by leaps and bounds in a home environment. If you'd like to bring this amazing husky into your home and give him the life he deserves complete an application today!

Story
Alaska is a very sweet and soft husky! He would love nothing more than to make friends with every human he sees and is equally polite towards other dogs he comes in contact with. He has quite a loud bark, but he really just wants to be the center of attention and receive all the pets and affection. He knows some basic commands like sit, and although he is strong, he walks very well on leash. He was also very well behaved during car rides. Alaska is looking for a family that is aware of the behavior traits and time commitments that training a husky requires, but will provide lots of love and affection in return. Apply to meet Alaska today!
