Loki is a 4 year old husky mix who came to Rocket Dog after his owner passed away. Loki has been living with his friend Quinn. They rely on each other for comfort and companionship, and must be adopted together. These dogs are typical huskies - active, energetic, vocal, and playful - but they have great training and would adapt well to a home environment. They would do best in a home who has experience with huskies or has done the necessary research and prepared themselves for caring for these special dogs. Loki is an extra-large guy and does need to lose some weight. He currently weighs in at around 110 pounds.

Story
Meet Frida, a beautiful rescue girl from Oakland who narrowly escaped euthanasia and is now searching for her forever home. Frida is gentle, affectionate, and overflowing with love to give. She adores her walks and absolutely thrives when she has space to run freely, ideally in a safely gated area. Shestill mastering recall, but walks wonderfully on a leash with just a gentle reminder. Frida loves staying close and will happily stroll right by your side. Currently in training, Frida already knows how to sit like a pro! She would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the attention and affection she deserves. That said, she could also be a lovely match for a calm, older dog who isn’t likely to be bothered by her sweet and curious energy. Frida is looking for a patient, loving family that can offer her plenty of affection, quality time, and outdoor adventures. With the right home, she’ll truly blossom into the happy, loyal companion. She is love 💛

Story
Meet Ombre, an 11-month-old Akita who radiates an easygoing and sweet demeanor that captivates everyone she meets! Despite her young age, Ombre displays a maturity beyond her years, approaching life with a calm and gentle disposition. Ombre came to our shelter as a stray about 6 weeks ago. She was found with her sidekick companion, Margarita, a sweet, timid, 11-pound, 3-year old Chihuahua.  Ombre is an exuberant, playful and very loving dog. She is very gentle with Margarita, so they are housed together and often hang out in the yards together. While Ombre thoroughly enjoys playing and interacting with others; she would thrive equally well in a home with or without another dog, thanks to her independent nature and friendly demeanor. Ombre's love for playtime is infectious, and her charming personality makes her a wonderful addition to any loving household ready to provide her with the care and companionship she deserves. Ombre has a beautiful coat, weighs about 40 pounds, seems quite potty trained and also very quiet in her kennel that she shares with little Margarita. Ombre is good with every dog and every person she has ever met; loves to play with soft toys and most of all, has discovered the joy of a kiddie pool in the heat! At the shelter, we often let them play together, but also separate them out. I have been taking Margarita home to play with my littles so she can build her confidence and come into her own. She is a delightful little girl (whose cherry eye will be fixed when she is spayed soon). Both Ombre and Margarita are vaccinated and will be chipped and spayed  We would love to get sweet Ombre and Margarita out of the shelter so they can continue to grow and thrive in a home. Ombre and Margarita are being cared for at Yolo County Animal Services in Woodland, CA (near Davis and Sacramento Airport). Story
Ike and Tina are 7-month old Akitas that were surrendered to the shelter because their previous family lost their home. They are both house trained, know basic commands and like attention. They appear to get along with other dogs, but Ike can get protective when larger dogs are around, so they would continue to need more positive training and socialization experiences with other dogs and people under well-managed and safe conditions. They would most likely do best with an experienced owner that can guide and train them as they continue to mature. Continued obedience work with an instructor familiar with Akitas and/or northern breed dogs is recommended. For more information about them and to meet them, please contact: Front Street Animal Shelter 2127 Front Street Sacramento, CA 95818 916-808-7387 Shelter Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12pm to 5pm Ike and Tina are located in Kennel #505 (This listing is to help assist direct placements of rescues that are currently with other rescue groups, shelters or their current owners. Story
Aloha! I'm Butter and I'm a 11-week old, pure-bred Akita puppy. I'm a love bug that loves to be held and cuddled. Unfortunately, I won't be able to be held for long, as I'm already 20 pounds! I'm going to be a big girl that will need lots of training while I'm still a small pup. The Vet said that I might have hip and joint issues that will effect me as I grow, so adopters should be prepared to take me in for an orthopedic consult. If you're interested in giving me a good home and can afford appropriate medical care, apply to adopt me! Apply to adopt me through the Oahu SPCA!
