Story
Meet Tobias - a loyal guy with great house manners! He's potty trained, sleeps through the night and is calm in the home, laying nearby and keeping a watchful eye. He also enjoys his walks and is pretty good on leash (unless he sees a squirrel - they're his kryptonite!). He rides great in the car, and LOVES sticking his head out of the window, so he's happy to join you on hiking trails or other adventures! Tobias is looking for a home with dog savvy adopters. He can be wary of sudden movements, so a home with older kids or an adult only home would be best. He'd do best in a structured home with ongoing training so he feels secure and knows he doesn't need to protect his home or his people. If you're looking for a loyal new companion who's sure to reward you 100 times over with his love and affection, look no further than Tobias. Apply today to set up a meet and greet!

Friendly, fun Viggo loves hanging out with his buddy, Alma. And, unlike most huskies, he loves the water! He is always up for fun, but he is not overbearing at all. He loves Alma! Viggo should go to a home with another husky pal, as he loves to play with other dogs. Please call 707-459-4900 to set up an appointment to meet these beautiful huskies. Come meet Viggo (and Alma) at our sanctuary.

Story
Paulo is a smart boy! He will pay attention to you and what your doing or asking of him to do. He has a fun personality and is very people and mostly quite dog friendly. Although friendly he does have some significant quirks. Paulo has major resource guarding issues and will bite if you try to take a toy or food from him. He does not like to be brushed ("you are stealing my fur!") He wants to be loved, but needs an experienced adult, who will respect his boundaries. It is best if Paulo remains an outdoor dog, happily living with others - because he will take things that belong to others, and you can NOT take them away! This is why Paulo lives at our Sanctuary - he is easily managed, knowing what his triggers are! But he is only suitable for an adult only, predictable home. If you are up for a rewarding, but slightly challenging relationship, Paulo may be your guy!

Husky

Female, 6 yrs 2 mos
Pt. Richmond, CA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Shasta is an absolute joy, and you couldn't wish for a dog with a better disposition. She's cheerful and fun without being overly hyper, and has a contagious smile. She's affectionate and interactive, but also likes hanging out by herself in the backyard. She's friendly to all people and dogs she meets, and is submissive without being timid. She would definitely be a favorite at the dog park! Shasta is house trained, shows no interest in getting on furniture and has no guarding behaviors. She could use some work on the leash, but her smaller size makes her manageable, and she learns quickly. She's currently doing great living with three dogs of different sizes and would be a good fit in a family with kids and/or other dogs. Shasta's adoption fee has been paid, and her current senior owner is looking for a more active family who can take her on walks and adventures. Husky experience preferred.

Story
(I'm being fostered in the East Bay) Meet our handsome, happy-go-lucky Husky! This 1.5-year-old boy is currently having a blast being fostered at Happy Hound Doggie Daycare, which tells you everything you need to know: he loves other dogs and is a true social butterfly. He's fantastic with people, is already great on his walks, and is ready to trade his foster spot for a forever home. Come meet this perfect adventure buddy! And here's some additional notes about our boy, Blue, from his foster folks:Things about Blue:Stubborn, high energy, needs an active family, needs someone willing to work with him, someone with Husky experience would be great, loves playing with the ball, loves to run, plays well with others, plays hard (have to interrupt play at times he will escalate it), loves pets and affection, doesn't really bark or howl, knows basic commands (but again is stubborn), no leash around the neck as it puts pressure against his trachea causing him to choke/cough, use a harness or gentle leader. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 43 Age: 1yrs 9mths 0wks
