Story
Hi everyone! My name is Claudia, and I am so happy to meet you! I am a young, happy-go-lucky gal who is so much fun to be around. I have a lot of puppy energy so I love to run around and play with my foster sister, but I will also relax with a chewie or play by myself for long stretches of time. When I play by myself, my favorite thing to do is toss little toys in the air and try to catch them. I don't mean to brag, but I'm actually getting pretty good at catching. Out in the yard, I am working on my frisbee skills. I've caught that unpredictable flying thing a few times now and boy does that make my foster parents happy. Humans are kind of weird sometimes. But let's get back to me...I am house trained, so I do all my potty business out in the yard or on walks. I'm learning to walk nicely on a leash, but I'm told my forever family will have to continue to fine-tune that skill. I'm doing great at learning my "inside manners" - no counter surfing, no jumping on furniture or people, and so on. I listen well to my foster parents for the most part. But honestly, sometimes I just want to stay outside, and they are ready to go in because it's too "cold". Please. It feels fine to me and I'm not all bundled up in boots and coats. Humans. I am working on basic training things like "sit", "wait", "look", etcetera. I'm pretty food motivated so I find training time to be fun. I sleep quietly all night in my crate like the good girl that I am. In the morning, I am ready to go outside for potty and play time and then I make sure to show my foster parents how much I love them. They seem to really enjoy my affection. The ideal forever home for me would be with a family that has another active dog that will play with me and a fenced yard for us to run around in. I would also very much like to be enrolled in a training class. I'm told that will help solidify my manners and allow for the best future for me and my people. If you would like to meet me, please come to the Saturday adoption show and/or fill out an application. My foster mom will be happy to brag about what a great pup I am.Adoption fee is $320.00Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.orgAlmost Home Foundation's adoption requirements:(1) Be at least 21 years of age;(2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household;(3) Have approval from the residence owner;(4) Have valid ID with current address;(5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and`(6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only)*** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***

Story
Meet Timber..... While Timber could be mistaken for a small wolf, he’s a Husky-Shepherd Mix. A a very smart and handsome boy!! Timber enjoys playing and running; he’d prefer to run and play with a human companion rather than another dog. He LOVES people and is good with most everyone. Timber’s estimated date of birth is July 4 2021. He’s about 60 lbs. of energy! An ideal home for Timber, and one in which he’d thrive and his family would forever enjoy his companionship is one experienced with the Husky (or a similar) breed, has the time to commit to a young large-breed energetic boy, and a willingness to set boundaries and guidelines to ensure Timber evolves into a perfect family member. Timber is a quick learner and is sure to make progress toward his behavior goals pretty quickly! Timber would love a secure, fenced yard, and possibly being an only dog so he can receive ALL the attention!! Timber is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you might be interested in adding this handsome boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895

Story
Terra is a very sweet, cute Husky Mix, possibly Husky-Shepherd. Her estimated date of birth is July 4, 2021; at the time of this post, she is about 1 ½ years old. She weighs about 50 lbs. Terra is typical Husky through-and-through. She is active, somewhat high-strung, and loves being outside. When she is by herself, she is overall well-behaved…given she’s a younger Husky. She can get carried away and become obnoxious when engaging with other dogs. As such, she is most likely to do best being an only dog. She is not a dog-park dog. While playful and energetic, Terra is also very affectionate. She enjoys people and does pretty well when meeting people she does not know. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Terra would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with her new family. No doubt, Terra has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to her and provide her the forever home she deserves. Terra is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this cute young girl to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.

Story
Lancelot has grown to be a big boy now. He loves playing fetch with tennis balls, loves going on walks. He would do better with a family who is very active with him or another dog who is female to help him play. He always wants to be involved in doing what you're doing or rough housing.February 8, 2024, 12:06 am
