Story
Introducing MAX, a 1 year old, 36 pound, VERY special Husky mix. When Max was around 8 weeks old he became the sole survivor of a house fire where he suffered terrible burns on his back, legs, and tips of his ears; it took him about 9 months for his skin to regrow and heal. He will likely never have fur in some areas so he needs a coat for protection in the cold and will likely need protection of his skin from the sun in warmer weather. Please don’t let that dissuade you from considering this wonderful dog! Max is such a sweet and loving dog who doesn’t have a mean bone in his body! He is very affectionate and loves to be hugged and petted. Because he genuinely seems happiest when another dog plays with him, we are seeking adopters that have another playful dog in the home. Max may be a little too much for some small dogs, especially older ones but his best buddy is playful Shih Tzu/Bichon mix named Bogie - who loves to play chase with Max in the yard. Inside the home, Max is calm and easy going. He is happy to chew and play with his Nylabones and Kong Chews for hours and is quite good at “self entertainment.” Max cannot be crated so his foster mom uses an inside dog pen when she goes to work. True to his Husky lineage, Max will serenade you when he wants to go outside or wants to eat. He still has some puppy characteristics so proper puppy proofing will be important in the home. Max would do best in an adoptive home with another dog or multiple dogs AND someone who is home more and who will take him for daily walks and have deliberate play-time with him. He is a smart dog who would excel at different types of training. Max will require a high fence as he can easily jump over a 5 foot fence. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, treated for burns, been dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.  Our online application isn’t working correctly so please contact us so we can send a copy via email to you. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     January 5, 2025, 2:48 am

Story
Hachi is a full breed Siberian Husky, is 3 years old, and we love him! We took him into our home in December of 2024 because his original owner couldn’t keep him because of a divorce. He has been a lovely addition to our family. He gets along well with our chihuahua. He is up to date on shots until January 2026. He was just neutered in June 2025. He is 69 pounds and tall for a husky. He loves to sleep and be in the house. He also loves walks on a leash. We are trying to rehome him because we travel a lot and we feel badly boarding him, while we are away. Whoever adopts him has to have a safe backyard he can’t escape from and/or be able to take him on dog walks daily. He loves to be petted and be close to his owners. He is a fantastic dog! Whoever adopts him will be getting a very loyal, loving friend.

Story
Meet Stever!  This kind, sweet, lovable, mellow boy was found wandering the streets in Kentucky and came to Mag Mutts to return to good health and to never have to look for a safe spot to sleep or worry about a full tummy.  He is approximately 8 years old and weighs between 55-60lbs. He is very quiet for a "husky" (rarely barks/talks), is good with other dogs but would really love to be the only "apple of your eye".  He enjoys being outside, going for car rides.  He is also both house and crate trained too!  If you're looking for a calm, loving friend - look no further!        **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment.  Thank you for your interest!                             If you are interested in adoption, please complete the "Application to Adopt" which can be accessed from this link: (     www.magnificentmutts.org )  No phone calls please, emails only. Adoption donations range between $400-$450 (cash only), unless otherwise noted. Prices are subject to change, please contact for specific adoption donation. Please visit www.magnificentmutts.org for the online dog application. July 12, 2025, 12:38 pm

Story
Age/Birthdate:07/14/2016 * Weight: 83lbs* Location: * Fully Vetted: Yes Any Special Medical or Special Needs:No Temperament with: Dogs:Great Cats:Came from a home with cats Children list specific ages: All ages Strangers:Shy at first then wants all the attention Training Needs: Crate Trained:No, doesn't need to be crated Potty Trained:Yes Hi, I’m Izzy — a graceful 8-year-old Siberian Husky with a heart full of love and just the right amount of sass. I may be a “senior,” but don’t let that fool you — I’ve still got some playful zoomies in me! At about 80 pounds, I’m a sturdy, sweet girl who’s happiest lounging on a cool floor or running laps around the backyard with my foster brothers. I get along great with other dogs and came from a home with cats, so I’m pretty easygoing when it comes to furry companions. I adore kids — especially my foster’s grandkids, who are 9 and 11 — and I’m polite when meeting new people. I can be a tiny bit shy at first, but once I know you’re kind, I’m all about those snuggles and belly rubs. I’m fully potty trained and don’t need to be crated — I’m a well-mannered lady who knows commands like sit, lay down, and paw. I walk beautifully on a leash using a harness (no need for those prong collars — yuck!), and I take treats very gently. My favorites? Milkbone peanut butter bites, please! I’m not big on toys, but I do love running in circles outside and giving kisses to anyone who will let me. If you’re looking for a laid-back but still playful companion, I could be the one. I’d be just as happy in an active home as a chill one — I’ve adjusted so well and just want a forever family who will love me for the amazing girl I am. Bonus fun fact: I’ll be celebrating my 9th birthday on July 14th — maybe we can celebrate together? This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Please note that we cannot hold dogs for any reason. If the dog or puppy is not yet fully vetted, we can only consider applications from adopters within an hour's drive or 40 miles of Lemont, IL, due to required vet visits at our partner veterinarians. For fully vetted dogs or puppies, we welcome applications from out-of-state or beyond the 40-mile radius. Please only apply if you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into your home within five days of approval. Breed and Age Information: Unless the puppy was born in our care, we cannot guarantee the breed or age. Breed and age estimates are based on veterinary advice, shelter records, physical appearance, and information provided by previous owners. The adoption fee includes: Spay/neuter (performed at one of our partner veterinarians as scheduled by the rescue) Microchip Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine Bordetella vaccine 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease) General wellness care, including deworming, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention Your adoption fee also helps support medical care for other rescue animals, including heartworm treatments, surgeries, and emergency care. Spay/Neuter Policy: We spay/neuter dogs at 16 weeks or older, at the discretion of the rescue and in consultation with our partner veterinarians. While some veterinarians recommend delaying the procedure based on a breeds projected size, as a rescue, our primary goal is to prevent unwanted litters. Spaying and neutering also provide significant health benefits, including cancer prevention and reducing behavioral issues. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay/neuter for cats and dogs as early as 16 weeks. We carefully assess each case to determine the best timing for the procedure. Interested in Adopting? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt

I can be a little nervous at first, but once I feel safe, I really come out of my shell and show my fun, playful side. I love other dogs and the kids in my foster home—they're my best playmates! I’m also crate trained, potty trained, and I love playing outside. Splashing in a doggie pool? Yes, please! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I feel about them.
