Story
This sweet girl is the perfect mix of adventure and affection! She loves exploring the great outdoors and is always ready for her next adventure. Friendly and social, she gets along well with people and has a history of getting along well with other dogs. Plus, she’s quite the talker—she’ll happily chat your ear off with her adorable vocalizations! She’s not just fun-loving; she’s also well-mannered! She knows her basic training cues like sit, down, and come, and she walks beautifully on a leash with her harness. Noted to be housetrained and crate trained, she’s ready to settle into her forever home. If you’re looking for a loving, talkative, and adventurous companion, she’s the perfect match! Stop in and meet Sadie in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Hutchi is a beautiful husky mix with a sweet and gentle soul! She may be a little shy when first meeting new people, but once she warms up, she’s an absolute sweetheart. In the house, she’s super calm and content to nap the day away, but the moment she steps outside, she comes to life! She loves going on walks, running around, and enjoying the fresh air. Hutchi is wonderful with kids and other dogs, making her a great fit for a family home. She’s currently working on her leash manners—she doesn’t pull hard but sometimes has her own ideas about which way to go! She already knows “sit” and “wait” and is learning not to rush through doors without permission. She’s eager to please and picks up on new things quickly. Hutchi is also crate-trained and will go in on her own, staying quietly settled inside. She’s mostly house-trained, with just a few accidents likely due to adjusting to a new environment. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who comes alive for outdoor adventures, Hutchi is the perfect match! When Hutchi arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, he tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm-positive dogs like Hutchi to be while undergoing treatment and recovery is with a loving forever family. If you choose to adopt Hutchi, the clinic staff will support you every step of the way, answering questions and offering guidance throughout the process. From detection to the final treatment, the process typically takes about three months and involves simple at-home steps to ensure his safety during recovery. The final step is a follow-up test six months after treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful, and the staff anticipates that Hutchi will make a full recovery! It’s also important to know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal through mosquitoes. With the right care and love, Hutchi will be back to his happy, healthy self in no time! Story
Hi, I'm Foxglove! Thanks for checking me out! I know my cute face is hard to resist, but here's the scoop: I'll need a lot of your time and attention as I grow up into the amazing adult dog I'm destined to be! I'm looking for a forever family that will help me with socialization, training (yes, that includes house training!), and plenty of exercise. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. So, if you're up for the challenge and the fun, why not come meet me in person? Stop by during our adoption hours. For more details, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or give us a call at 847-697-2880 x: 90. The friendly folks here will be happy to answer all your questions! Can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Keegan is a young bouncy boy who is as nice as he is energetic. While it was pretty apparent when he came in to us that he was not given a lot of training in his previous home, he obviously was loved as he has a great personality and is a very loving boy. He is a diamond in the rough kind of dog-he needs to learn some manners (and he is a quick learner) but with an active home that will give him exercise and structure, he'll be a well trained boy in no time. Keegan is good with other dogs and great with people. He might knock over little ones in the home so until he is a bit more trained, older kids are probably best.

Story
Marina is looking for her furever home that she can call her own. She's house broken, crate trained and knows some basic commands. She will need a strong positive leader, previous Husky experience preferred, and will do best with no kids and no small animals. She does get along with some dogs, mostly older laid back males, but will do fine as an only dog. Do you have a place for Marina to live out her retirement years with?

Story
Hippy is a gorgeous young girl who is past that crazy energy phase of puppyhood, but who still has a lot of Siberian spunk to keep you on your toes. And she's a redhead, so you know her sense of humor is extensive! She was found out running and when her owners were called and told about her being at animal control, they never showed up to claim her. Thus she ended up with us. Hippy is good with other dogs, great with the humans and is a very sweet girl. She does pull a bit on the leash and loves her exercise so we'd want an active family for her, and someone who walks often or has a big securely fenced yard for her to run and play with. If you are looking for a girl to keep you active, apply for Hippy now!

Story
Glimmer is such a nice girl. She was an owner surrender to an animal control that was shutting down so she and her buddy Spark were in imminent danger of being euthanized. Fortunately they were able to make their way to Adopt a Husky. The notes we were given by the owner who put these two in animal control were that they are house trained, good with other dogs, great with kids and all seem to be true. They said she was only about 2 years old but our vet thinks she is probably closer to 4. She is past that crazy puppy stage and while she is a typical Siberian and loves to play, she has an off switch. She can be a little hesitant with new people but quickly warms up. She will make a great addition to an existing pack or be fine being the spoiled only dog. Apply for her now!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
"Hi, I’m Spark! My foster mom would say I’m part kangaroo, but I am definitely all husky! I am super enthusiastic about life and am what some would call a velcro dog. So much so that I will even run backwards just to maintain eye contact. I would very much benefit from one of these “walks” I keep hearing about, but I’ve recently been undergoing heartworm treatment and haven’t experienced it just yet. Now that my treatment is done and I am heartworm free and totally healthy, I cannot wait for walkies! However, I am also happy lounging around and snuggling with you. I currently live with a foster brother and sister, I do well with them both and learn a lot by watching them. I am also confident enough to be an only dog too! I am very smart and learn very quickly, I will do anything for a butt scritch or a treat. I am also potty trained! Some things to consider; due to my enthusiasm, I would likely knock over small children, senior dogs, or smaller dogs. I may also consider children’s toys as my own, and down the hatch they’d go. Some accessories that would suit me well; a high anxiety crate such as Ruffland, and a slow feeder bowl, like a deep one! I will go into my crate with bribery, but I don’t enjoy being left out so I will voice my concerns. I promise in the right crate, I do calm down, but as my foster mom has learned, I can and will break out of certain crates to find her. I can’t wait to meet you! Please apply at adoptahusky.com to see if we’re a match!"

Georgie is one of the coolest dogs we've met. What's not to love about this beautiful girl? She's gorgeous, she's very outgoing and friendly, she's great with other dogs, she is crate trained and her favorite thing to do is cuddle. Just absolutely nothing not to like about her. And how about those eyebrows? She is so expressive. She is a younger girl, has quite a bit of energy and is strong. We are looking for an active home for her. Other dogs will be fine, but she'd also be fine as an only dog. She is ready for her new family now-come meet her!
