Story
Koda is a handsome mini Husky/Shepherd mix who’s about 6 months old and still under 20 pounds, making him the perfect medium-size-in-the-making pup! Over the past week, his foster has watched him blossom from a shy guy into a playful, energetic puppy who’s really coming into his own. Koda loves his stuffed toys and enjoys tennis balls and pickleballs—though he prefers chewing on them rather than playing fetch. Like many puppies his age, he’s in the “fingers and toes are fascinating” phase and can be a little nippy, but he’s learning quickly. Curious yet cautious, Koda enjoys exploring his surroundings and also loves cuddles, pets, and hanging out with his people. He’s doing great with potty training and has been good about letting his foster know when he needs to go outside. Koda is learning sit and stay and practices his manners at mealtime by sitting (and staying) before getting his food. He does wonderfully in his crate—no trouble going in or staying in, minimal whining, and no destructive chewing. With his sweet personality, growing confidence, and eagerness to learn, Koda is an amazing puppy who’s ready to thrive in a loving forever home! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Cubby is more than just a dog he’s been my loyal companion, playful adventurer, and truly my best friend. It’s an unfortunate and difficult decision to let him go, but I don’t have the support to care for him the way he deserves because he’s amazing. He loves to talk in his sleep, run in circles, roll in the grass or snow, go on car rides, and soak up all the attention he can get. He will always hold a piece of my heart, and I know his next family will feel as lucky as I have to have him in their life.

🌸 Meet Chika — Your Sunshine-Loving, Gentle Companion! 🌸 Looking for a sweet soul to share quiet moments, sun-drenched afternoons, and unconditional love? Chika might just be your perfect match. This soft-eyed girl is a gentle spirit with a heart of gold. She may be a little shy at first, but give her some time and patience, and you’ll discover a deeply loyal and loving companion who just wants to be near you — especially if you’re outside! 🌿 Nature is Her Happy Place Chika adores the outdoors. Whether she’s lounging in the grass, sniffing the breeze, watching squirrels with laser focus, or supervising your yard work with quiet dedication, she truly shines when she’s outside. After spending nearly a year in a Texas foster home where she lived outdoors, it’s no wonder that sunshine and fresh air are her happy place. She absolutely LOVES to lay around outside. 🍪 A Smart Cookie: Chika enjoys learning and has already mastered: Sit Down Touch Stand Paw Recall 🏡 Chika Would Thrive With: A calm or moderately active home Long sniffy walks Patient, gentle humans willing to let her bloom at her own pace A fenced yard to enjoy her outdoor time safely (but not mandatory) Maybe a calm dog sibling to share naps and sunbeams with 💗 Chika is Waiting for Her Forever Home! If you’re the kind of person who believes that love is earned through patience, and that quiet moments can be the most meaningful — Chika is waiting to meet you. She’s not just looking for a home — she’s looking for someone to trust, to love, and to follow wherever life leads. I am an All-Star dog! My adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and I will go home with my very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get us off to a good start. To learn more about me or to schedule an appointment to meet me, email info@ahconnects.org (please include your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to help you! I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
