Story
Marti has touched so many people's hearts and she is very special to us. Marti is one of our shelter fire survivors. She spent weeks in the hospital recovering from severely burned paws, enduring painful dressing changes and restricted movement. As you can imagine, it has been more than a physical recovery but an emotional and psychological recovery for our resilient girl. Her paws are now healed and she is able to walk unrestricted again. Marti would do best in a home where she can get alot of outdoor walks and hikes and yard play, someone who is home alot to keep her company, keep her mind active and keep her on a regular schedule. Marti is super smart as well - she has had basic training and agility training certificates with her previous owner and needs to have things to challenge her high energy brain to keep her busy. She loves to play with toys and will hop on her toys and will thrown them up and play on her own. She was originally surrendered when grandchildren moved into the home and there was an issue with resource guarding of toys & food so Marti would do best in a home without kids. We know there is someone out there who can understand our girl and give her the love and structure she needs to thrive. Marti's adoption fee is $200. This covers all their age-appropriate shots, microchipping and vetting.

Story
Maverick was one of our shelter fire survivors and is now in a foster home. Maverick loves butt scratches and is walking well on leash. He isn’t super interested in playing with toys however he will play for a bit. His previous owner seemed to just let him out in the backyard and did not teach him commands or walk him much but our staff have been working with him and now Maverick knows how to sit and really enjoys taking walks in the woods. Maverick is anxious around other dogs so he would do best in a home as an only dog. He is sensitive about anything done around his neck but we have been working with him on this and able to put a collar/leash on. He will need an owner who is experienced with working breeds and will continue to work with him on this to get him comfortable with that and to give him the structure he needs. Maverick would love to have someone give him a chance to have a home of his own. Maverick is about 9 years old and 44 pounds. Please help Maverick find a loving family of his own. Maverick's adoption fee is $100. This also covers all age-appropriate shots, spay/neuter, vetting & microchipping.

Story
Bruce is a 6-year-old Husky who lost his home when his owner was evicted. He was left alone on the property. Thankfully, caring neighbors noticed he had been abandoned and stepped in to keep him safe while they searched for a rescue to help. Despite everything he's been through, Bruce has remained the wonderful dog everyone describes him as. He's incredibly friendly with people, house trained, and—believe it or not—quite "mellow" for a Husky! If you've always loved the look of the breed but worried about their endless energy, Bruce may be the perfect fit. Bruce previously lived with six cats and did great with them, and he has also done very well with other dogs. He's an easygoing, well-rounded companion who is ready to leave his past behind and find the loving home he truly deserves. Bruce is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and will be neutered prior to adoption. All he needs now is a family that will never leave him behind again. August 5, 2026, 8:44 am

Story
Meet Marsha At just 11 months old, Marsha has already come a long way. Found abandoned in the country with her littermate and a friend, she survived by taking shelter in an old barn while kindhearted people quietly made sure she had food.  She’s been in foster care in Texas for several months. ,  Marsha absolutely loves other dogs—honestly, they’re her favorite. She thrives in the company of canine friends and would do best in a home with another confident dog to help guide her and be her buddy. She enjoys playing outside with her foster siblings and would be happiest with space to explore and a yard to romp in. What Marsha really needs now is a patient, loving family who will continue to let her grow at her own pace. Someone who understands that trust takes time—but is incredibly rewarding when it blooms. If you’re looking for a gentle, independent pup with a playful side and a heart full of quiet love, Marsha might just be your perfect match Marsha is microchipped, spayed and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $415. Apply to adopt MARSHA LONESTAR at www.ehrdogs.org   August 5, 2026, 8:44 am
