Story
Kodiak and Yukon are 2.5 year old beautiful male huskies who weigh approx 50 lbs. ***They are not bonded*** Kodiak and his brother, Yukon, once had a home. They had their own family; They had a warm bed, a proper diet and love. Then, one day, their family moved and left them behind without a second glance. They didnt leave food or water behind. They just left them in the Texas heat, to die. Kodiak and Yukon (who are both available for adoption, but do not have to be adopted together as they are not bonded) stayed at the property for months with the neighbors giving them food and water. They had basic care. They were losing weight and hair. Kodiak and Yukon were covered in fleas and ticks. Animal control ended up picking them up where they were taken to a high kill shelter and given 72 hours, the minimum shelter requirement, before euthanasia. Somebody brought them to our attention and we were able to tag them, and pick them up the day before they were euthanized! They came into our care early August. Since then, they have been fostered in the south Texas area and have just flourished in their foster homes. They are slowly gaining weight and their coats are growing back beautifully. They have received vet care and are back on their way to be the most handsomest of boys. There are cats in the house where Kodiak and Yukon are at and they can walk by them on the leash and they both just ignore them. With proper introductions and patience, we believe each of them could happily live with kitties in the home! No kids to test with but Kodiak and Yukon both absolutely love people. They love to be loved on and get lots of pets. They love to be petted. They will cuddle up with you and just nap for hours. They love to be around all people. About Kodiak: He is more brown and white in coloring (his hair is still growing back so we are eager to see if he comes in mostly all chocolate and white!) He is great with other dogs and would do great in a home with other dogs or alone! He is leash trained.  Fun Quirks: Kodiak is a very CHILL boy. He likes to play but he also likes to just chill in the house and lay on his person. If you're sitting on the couch he will come lay on top of you💛 He is crate trained. When he has to go to the bathroom he will paw at the kennel door. He is house trained.  He will go to the door when he has to go. He stands out because of his beautiful eyes. They are ice blue and when you look into them you will smile and you can tell he is happy too. He is also very smart. The perfect home would be where someone could be home with him and have time for walks and play time and others dogs to play with. A fenced in yard to explore and play. He is still active but not as much as Yukon. Yukon: Is more black and white in coloring He is great with other dogs and would do wonderfully in a home with other dogs or alone. He is leash trained. Very smart and learned quickly. Fun Quirks: Yukon is quite active and loves to run and play. He would be great for adventures!! He likes to play and loves doing the Zoomies. After er he is done with his zoomies he comes looking for his human to love on him. He is crate trained. When he has to go to the bathroom he will howl and paw at the kennel door to let you know he has to go. He is house trained. He will go to the door and paw at the floor when he has to go. He has the most beautiful eyes... he has this look like he's a little mischievous but he's not. He stands out because he is so smart and athletic. He would make the best hiking partner. The perfect home for Yukon would be where someone could be home with them and have time for walks, runs, adventures, play time and other doggies to play with whether at home, in the neighborhood or doggy daycare. A fenced in yard to do his zoomies and room to explore and play. Both boys wish: Being in a state that has snow would be icing on the cake for them! Kodiak and Yukon are both neutered, heart worm positive (they are on slow kill Pro Heart injections), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Story
Lobo is a stunning 2-year-old male husky that weighs approximately 56 lbs. Lobo came to us from the streets of south Texas. He was found roaming the streets of South Texas a few months ago, starving and missing half of his hair. You couldn’t even tell he was a husky. Thankfully, a sanctuary had room and took him in. It took some time to get Lobo better as he had multiple skin infections he had to battle – but now Lobo is much better and on the prowl for the perfect home! This awesome boy absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. He is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. He has the most gorgeous sky-blue eyes that just stop you in your tracks. Lobo loves to have conversations with anyone and everyone. He just talks up a storm every chance he gets. If you’re bored, Lobo will be the one to brighten your day up. He is mildly active – he loves to go outside and run around, but he loves just as much to come inside (to the AC of course!) and just relax. When it’s nice outside, he enjoys sunbathing and laying out. Lobo would do best with someone that loves the outdoors and Lobo loves them too. He loves to spend time with his person, not just be left alone. When he comes inside, he comes right next to you and cuddles up. Lobo is very loyal. He is crate trained and knows the word “kennel” when said to him. With some consistency and patience, he will easily learn other commands. He is too smart for his own good. Lobo enjoys car rides! While he is vocal, he is the biggest sweetheart. He welcomes strangers with open paws, and a few kind words. If you think you can give Lobo the best home he deserves, please consider filling out an application. Lobo is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Story
Meet Kai 🐾 Couch dog. Professional cuddler. Sleepy boy. Absolute lovebug. Kai is not your typical energetic Husky—and that’s exactly what makes him so special. At approximately 1 year old and around 45 lbs, Kai is happiest curled up on the couch beside his people, watching TV, relaxing, and soaking up as much love and affection as he can possibly get. He can be a little shy when he first meets you, but he comes out of his shell quickly. Once he does, be prepared for a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side. Kai LOVES affection from humans and will happily cuddle with you for days. He even loves sleeping with his people and will absolutely claim the entire bed if you let him! And his favorite sleeping position? On his back, legs straight up in the air, like he just doesn't care. 🎶 Kai is: 🐶 Great with other dogs 👧 Wonderful with kids 🏡 Crate trained and house trained ❤️ Extremely affectionate and loyal 🛋️ A serious couch potato 🐾 Curious and eager to explore 🚶 A big fan of walks and going out to see the world 🎾 Happy to run around the yard and play when the mood strikes Kai would be perfectly happy as your one and only, but he also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Kai's Story Kai and his brother were surrendered by their owners to a kill shelter in South Texas simply because their owners no longer wanted them. Sadly, owner-surrendered dogs are often at especially high risk because they don't have a hold period. Kai was scheduled to be euthanized at 4:30 PM the very next day because the shelter was out of space. We saw his post at approximately 2:30 PM the day before and immediately scrambled to save him. The following day, the shelter couldn't tell us whether Kai was still alive. A volunteer jumped in the car and drove to the shelter as quickly as possible—and thankfully, Kai was still there. He was only minutes away from losing his life. Thanks to an incredible team of people who refused to let that happen, Kai is now safe and looking for the forever family he was always meant to have. ❤️ Kai is currently around 45 lbs and could benefit from putting on a little more weight. His Perfect Home Kai is looking for a medium-active family who understands that he has two speeds: let's go explore! and please let me sleep on the couch. He enjoys walks, exploring, running around the yard, and playing, but he is equally happy to spend the rest of the day relaxing beside his people. More than anything, Kai wants to be loved. If you're looking for a handsome, sweet, loyal, affectionate best friend who will follow you around, cuddle up beside you, and happily take over your couch and bed, Kai might just be your guy. He survived when he was given almost no chance—and now he's ready for the forever home he deserves. 🐾❤️ Kai is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention (6-month pro heart injection), microchipped, current on de-wormer and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. Story
🐾 Meet Ghost , a sweet Siberian pupThis sweet husky pup has already had a rough start in life. From animal control, to what was supposed to be his forever home, only to be returned through no fault of their own. Sadly, the resident dog in the home just could not handle typical puppy energy, and it was decided that finding a better suited home was what was best for everyone involved.Despite everything he has been through, Ghost is doing AMAZING in his foster home.  He is doing well with the resident dogs , and his foster family says he is a sweet,  loving, and fun pup who just wants to be part of a family. He would make wonderful addition to a home with other dogs or kids who are ready for all the love and goofy energy husky puppies bring 🐾
