Story

Zazu (female), and her siblings were picked up by a kind woman after their mom was hit by a car. The puppies were just a few days old so she bottle fed them around the clock, kept them warm and safe and managed to save them. As of 12/14 they are estimated to be about 4 months old and weigh about 16-18 lbs. They are believed to be husky mixes (a male husky roams around neighborhood) but their mother was small to medium sized. Zazu is the littlest one of the litter, but don't let that fool you - she's the boss of the group. She is small but feisty, as well as affectionate and playful. She is very friendly and loving and gets along well with other dogs and children. Zazu has received all 3 rounds of her puppy vaccinations and is now able to hop on our next transport to the NJ area and come home to a forever home. Personality: friendly, playful, feisty, affectionate, energetic Good with: people of all ages (including kids), dogs, and cats Training: unknown at this time Estimated date of birth: late August 2025 Estimated size when full grown: medium; maybe around 40 pounds Medical: vetted, vaccinated, microchipped Location: Currently located with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next transport. Rayne is losing her home because her owner is moving into an apartment that does not accept dogs. She is a husky mix who is 5 years old. As you can see in her video she is very responsive to her current owner, she will even walk away from her food bowl when he talks to her. She is currently in Texas and we are trying to help her find a new home so that she isn't surrendered to a kill shelter. Rayne is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. We did just recently find out that she is heartworm positive so she will stay in TX until her treatments are finished; but she is available for adoption. Lets find this girl a new home! Personality: friendly, affectionate Good with: people. Has not been tested around young children, other dogs or cats yet. Johnny and his 2 siblings, Juno and Jane (adopted), were found dumped in rural Texas right around Christmas time. Poor little pups. Now they are happily living with their foster mom who pampers them. They have been to the vet and are receiving their puppy vaccinations and will be ready to come to the New Jersey area on our next transport. They are estimated to be about 3 and a half months old (as of 2/9/26) and appear to be some type of a husky mix. Johnny is a bit shy, but once he gets to know you he will give you lots of kisses and stay by your side. He enjoys playing with his siblings and is very intrigued by the chickens that live next door to his foster home. He weighs 19 pounds as of (as of 2/9/26) . According to his foster mom, he's the watchful one of the group. He likes to monitor what's going on and then decide if he wants to join in. Leo is approximately 2-3 years old and currently weighs 57 pounds. Like so many dogs, Leo's story is a sad one. Leo spent most of his life with a caring and loving owner who regularly took him to the vet and kept him inside (which is not typical for dogs in the south). Once Leo's owner had to move into a senior residence, he entrusted a friend to care for his beloved dog, Leo. Long story short, that "friend" kept Leo chained up outside without food and water. You can see from one of Leo's pictures that he was skinny when he was rescued. He was taken to a shelter, but the shelter protocol is to euthanize dogs that are there for more than 3 days. Leo was pulled from the shelter in the nick of time. He's been to the vet and we unfortunately found out that he was heartworm positive so we arranged and paid for his treatments. Now, we are happy to announce that Leo has finished his heartworm treatments and he is now a healthy and happy boy. We are told that he loves meeting people and was even happy to see everyone at the vet. Leo is described as a wonderful, fairly calm boy, though he does have the occasional puppy burst of energy. He is human and dog friendly. He's a good boy who will sit when you ask him to. He loves car rides and will jump right in the back seat and stay there for the trip. Please help us find Leo a new, stable home. He must have been so confused, going from the love and safety of his original owner to being tied up and ignored outside.
