Could that be you? ❤️ 💔 A heartbreaking beginning… and a second chance at love Yukon and his brother, Kodiak, once had what every dog dreams of: a family, a warm bed, and a place to call home. Then one day, their family moved away and left them behind. For months, these two loyal boys stayed at the property, waiting and hoping their family would return. But the days passed, and no one came back for them. Eventually, animal control was called, and the brothers were taken to a shelter. Their story was about to end in the most heartbreaking way. They were scheduled to be euthanized, but thankfully, they were saved just one day before their scheduled date. Both boys came into our care in August 2026. Now, Yukon has a second chance at the life he deserves. To help keep him comfortable, he needs a monthly veterinary-administered injection for inflammation and pain management. His veterinarian also recommends a daily Cosequin glucosamine and chondroitin supplement. The Cosequin chews cost approximately $60 for 250 chews. Yukon deserves a family who understands his needs and is committed to keeping him comfortable, active, and happy throughout his life. Meet Ernie! 🐾💙 Ernie is a handsome 1–2-year-old Husky weighing approximately 55 pounds, and he is one happy, energetic boy! Ernie is looking for an active family ready for plenty of fun, adventure, and Husky antics. He’s young, playful, curious, affectionate, and absolutely loves having a good time. Ernie’s story began about four months ago when he was found wandering as a stray at a remote truck stop in North Edinburg. Since then, he has been waiting for the family who will give him the life he deserves. And let’s just say—Ernie is ready for his next adventure! ❤️ 🐕 Dog Friendly: YES! Ernie absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with canine friends. He is playful, energetic, and enthusiastic, and sometimes his version of fun involves some serious Husky-style roughhousing! Because of this, he would be happiest with large, playful dogs who can match his energy and enjoy an active playmate. 👧 Great with Kids! Ernie loves children and is friendly and affectionate with people of all ages. Because he is still young and learning his manners, younger children should be supervised around him. He’s still figuring out proper doggy etiquette, and his excitement can sometimes get the better of him. 🏡 House Training: Although Ernie has spent his time with us at an animal sanctuary, he has shown wonderful potential for becoming a great house dog. He is crate-trained and does not have accidents in his crate or pen. With patience, consistency, and a little time to adjust to indoor family life, we believe he’ll catch on quickly. 🐱 Cats: Ernie has not yet been tested with cats, so we cannot say for certain how he would do living with them. Given his friendly nature, he may potentially learn to live peacefully with cats with patient training, careful supervision, and slow, proper introductions. 🚗 Adventure Buddy: YES! He had been there for at least six months, and some people believed he had been surviving there for more than a year. This wasn't some quiet, forgotten corner of town. It was a busy park where families gathered and games were played every weekend. People came and went, yet this poor boy was left to fend for himself, surviving by digging through the garbage people left behind. Can you imagine being so close to people every day and still having no one step up to give you a home? Thankfully, Apollo was finally taken in at the beginning of October 2026. His days of searching for scraps and surviving on his own are behind him. 💙❄️ MEET BABY BLUE — THE THREE-LEGGED WONDER WITH A HEART FULL OF LOVE! ❄️💙 🐾 1½ years old | 41 lbs | Male | Tripod Husky | Professional Cuddle Bug Three legs? No problem! Missing a limb? Doesn't even cross his mind! This sweet boy is too busy running, playing, giving kisses, and spreading happiness to worry about what he's missing. 🥹💙 Meet Baby Blue, affectionately known as Blue — a resilient, goofy, loving young Husky who has overcome more in his short life than any dog ever should. And yet, somehow, he remains one of the sweetest, most peaceful souls you'll ever meet. His story didn't start out happily, but we're determined to help him find the beautiful ending he deserves. 💔 A HEARTBREAKING BEGINNING, A BEAUTIFUL SECOND CHANCE Baby Blue and his brother and parents were dumped near the Texas–Mexico border, where they found themselves running along a busy road. A kind Good Samaritan stopped to help catch them, but the frightened dogs kept running. Tragically, Baby Blue's brother was hit by a car and passed away that day. Baby Blue was also struck and left unable to move. Thankfully, that Good Samaritan rushed him to the vet, where he was diagnosed with a fractured femur. In December 2025, Baby Blue underwent an amputation of his injured leg. Today, he has healed beautifully, and you would hardly believe he's a tripod! This sweet, loving Husky has come a long way from his difficult beginnings, and now he’s dreaming of a forever home where he can finally be safe, loved, and part of a family. 🐾 His Story Atlas was living on the streets of Mexico, where local taxi drivers kindly fed him. They liked him and tried to help by giving him food, but no one had stepped up to rescue him. Despite their kindness, Atlas was still not getting enough to eat. He was hungry, tired, and dirty when he was finally taken in at the beginning of October 2026. Now, this gorgeous boy is ready for his next chapter — one filled with love, adventures, cozy moments, and a family who will never let him fend for himself again. ❤️ 🐶 His Personality Atlas is as sweet as they come! He is incredibly loving, friendly, and happiest when he’s around his people. He loves everyone, big and small, and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend.
