You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rocco was adopted as a puppy and returned to the shelter 14 years later as a senior dog. An overcrowded inner city shelter is no place for a senior. They are more susceptible to infection and he quickly developed kennel cough which led to pneumonia. He has been two months with us and has made an amazing recovery. Our veterinarian says he is in great shape for a 14 year old. His cough is gone and his lungs are clear. if you have ever thought of adopting a senior he is your guy. He enjoys a walk and loves the car. He has had X-rays and blood work and all came out great. He does take thyroid medication once a day and it is very reasonable. We are looking for a forever foster or adopter for Rocco. We would like to see him as an only dog so that he can get all the attention but he can be with calmer dogs. I am active, busy, smart, playful, interested in learning about everything and everyone. I love kids and really anyone that will play with me. I am also toy obsessed. I need a family that will keep me active and stimulated as I continue to grow up from puppyhood into adolescence and then adulthood. A person or family that has an interest in training would be great for me. Of course I love other dogs, a buddy would be great but not required. My name is Jane. I am about 40 lbs and 2.5 years old. I have been patiently waiting for my turn to find my own family. I was sitting in a shelter and heartworm positive. We know how hard it is to find fosters for HW+ dogs because the treatment can be lengthy but I totally lucked out. I got the best foster mom who saw me through the whole process to cure me! My foster mom says I have been so easy to have around. I am a husky mix - I am on the smaller size - I might gain a few more pounds now that I am healthy! I am great with everyone - kids, cats, dogs. However, I don't need a ton of action nor a busy household. We think I would enjoy her person or people the most out of everything else. I definitely interact with the other dogs but I am more focused on where my foster mom is and if it were my choice, I would be next to her all the time! I guess my "aloofness" that is a trait of huskies comes out with cats and dogs. I am a great car rider, great at the vet and I like to go on outings. I am pretty social and I think I would love to opportunity to get out and about! I am also very affectionate and I never pass up pets!
