Story
I am sad to have to write that I am looking for a good home for my dog Dibs. He loves people. He is about 5-6 years old. He lives at my moms, but I moved into a small shared condo about 3 years ago and couldn't bring him with me. I do not get over there as often as I would like to. I work full time, and a couple of other things preoccupy my time. Since then another dog moved in and most recently a toddler. My dog is treated poorly and is made to stay outside most of the day. No one wants him and he is never petted, or walked anymore. Unfortunately this has made him jealous of the other dog and the toddler. Sadly, he is the one that has to go, since I do not live there anymore 😞 I am really sad about it, but I am looking for a home where he will be treated with 1) Affection 2) Taught social skills 3) Is wanted! He is a good guy! Just wants to be loved and petted like any dog would! Here are his stats: We found him as a pup, he is some sort of Lab mix, likely Shephard?

Story
Christmas family. Adorable Charity Noelle and Jingle were dumped in the back of a store. So much for the Christmas spirit of kindness. They were cold covered in dirt and nervous and the shelter took them in. We rescued them from the distant shelter. The two females are more out-going. Noelle seems to be the top puppy. Both are doing great got baths lovable playful and now very happy at their foster home. More info. to come as they grow and learn. Pups are not available til after 8 weeks old and they get their vet care. They most likely will grow up to be large adults. Best they get a home with a fenced backyard and active guardian for daily long walks and exercise. Update: Both pups are doing great at their foster home. Learning quick. Smart and playful. Both are learning to go out to yard for potty time and learning to take turns for attention. Noelle takes time to settle at night to sleep while Charity goes to crate and sleeps right away. Both are friendly and social. Been meeting many new people who visit during the Christmas break. They are curious of new sounds and sights and comfortable. Smart pups. Charity is more active than Noelle. Foster home is going back to work office 2/1/24. Need foster home if not adopted. Currently going to doggie day care during the day while foster home works full time off site. Temp. solution. Still need a foster home or adopter.April 27, 2024, 1:28 pm

Story
Marley is an incredible dog who is extremely affectionate, playful, and protective. She’s 5 years young and enjoys walks and treats! She’s house trained and will ring the bell (on the door) if she needs to go to the bathroom. Marley has lived with another dog in the past but is currently the only pet in the house. She’s selective with new dogs but once she feels comfortable, she loves to play and be chased. She rather play with smaller dogs because I notice she gets tense around bigger breeds. Our house has never been robbed because she is the best alarm system. Perfect fit for a kid free home or much older kids (7 and up) because she’s skeptical around toddlers. She is crate trained. No small or major issues so far. She’s registered and vaccinated but not up to date. Marley is around 42lbs. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700   Twix is a 1 year old purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever who was rescued from the shelter. This gorgeous chocolate brown dude weighs 70 pounds and is just as perfect as can be! Twix was surrendered to the shelter because he “got too big” (even though he is a normal sized lab)! We sprung him out of his kennel and promised him a sugary sweet forever family ahead!  Now, like any young Lab, Twix is active and energetic. He needs a home that is prepared for his energy. Labs are puppies in adult bodies at least until they are 3 but let's get real, it's more like 4-5 years old. Now, he's a bundle of fun for sure. He just needs activities. Are you up for playdates? Dog beach? Dog parks? Running buddy? Teaching him to fetch and throwing that ball until he's exhausted. Do you know working with a dog on basic obedience 10-15 minutes a day is equivalent to an hour of exercise? Exercising their brain, exhausts their body!   Below is a note from Twix’s foster.  “Twix is a goofy, friendly, gorgeous, and all around awesome lab! He is the best of the breed for those who love them. Looking for a hiking or running buddy? Twix is waiting with his leash at the door! Looking for a cuddle buddy/weighted blanket after a day of adventures? Twix is waiting on the couch for you to bring the snacks! Twix is super smart and has already learned a few tricks. What a good boy! He is very food motivated and has shown an eagerness to learn alongside his foster brothers. Twix will be your best and most loyal friend if you adopt him, and with a face as cute as his, how could you resist?  Twix wakes up around 7 AM and goes outside to potty. He sniffs around for a bit as he checks out his turf before coming inside for breakfast. After his morning meal, he takes a short nap before his morning walk. After his walk, he naps and spends time playing with his foster brothers. He spends his afternoon snoozing the day away, occasionally getting up to play with his mountain of toys. He gets dinner at 5 PM and then gets another long walk. He heads to bed at 10 PM and gets ready for another day of adventure ahead!  Twix loves his walks and adores the outdoors. Like a typical lab, he has a lot of energy to burn, so an active family would be a perfect fit for him. Twix would do well in an active home to ensure he goes to bed a tired and happy dog. He would love to join a home where he can integrate into family activities. Twix is being fostered with a large breed younger dog as well as small puppies. He plays well with them all. This dude can’t wait to make his forever home the luckiest home in the world once they adopt him.”   Twix is an option for a home that has dog experience and a large breed dog experience is a bonus. Interested homes must demonstrate a plan and commitment for continued training to ensure Twix continues maturing into the awesome boy he has shown himself to be. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.April 27, 2024, 5:34 pm
