Story
We are looking for a new, loving home for our wonderful dog, Rocky. We adopted Rocky (Male Labrador Retriever, born September 2024, approximately 50 lbs, Spayed/Neutered, Vaccinated, House trained, and Microchipped) last year, and he has been a cherished member of our family. About Rocky: Rocky is a very friendly, energetic, and well-behaved dog. He is excellent with children and plays well with other dogs and cats, showing no signs of aggression. He is also very quiet and doesn't bark excessively. Why Rocky Needs a New Home: Due to increasing work and school commitments, we are no longer able to give Rocky the time and attention he deserves. We feel it's unfair to him that he is sometimes left unoccupied, and we believe he would thrive in a new home with more opportunity for outdoor time and engagement. Rocky would make an incredibly good friend and companion for his new family.

Story
Milo is 1 year and a month old, still very much a puppy and has been an excellent pet. Unfortunately both my wife and me have to return to office and it is going to be extremely challenging to give Milo the same care and love. Looking for a new family that can provide him with much needed love and care. He will need time to get adjusted to the new family, especially if you have younger kids. Our younger one is 4 year old and took some training for the puppy to adjust his energy around my younger one. But now they are best friends and play very well in the backyard by themselves. Please do your reasearch about labs and reach out if you think you are ready for one. Feel free to reach out with any questions you have to help you make the right decision for you (and your family)!! Thanks.

Story
Boogie is a 78 lbs 7 year old mix who is ready for his forever family or even someone who can foster him until we find him his permanent home. He is a big gentle softie with a heart of gold. Boogie has been coming out of his shell over the last week and now seeks human love and attention. He is relaxed and happy to snooze in his own. Boogie will fall asleep if you give him head scratches! He is very food-oriented and is quickly learning commands for treats. He is potty-trained and has excellent house manners. He loves his walks but is strong. He used to live with BABY who is also available for adoption separately or together. He is sweet and affectionate, low to medium energy, and ready to find a family that will love and take care of him. Ideally no cats and would do best in a home with a yard. He does have allergies that need to be managed but he is a healthy and happy boy!

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, November 29th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption Fee: $750 PECAN PIE • 14 weeks old • Lab Mix • The Last Little Slice of the Litter   Meet Pecan Pie, the final pup from his litter waiting for a family of his own— and we truly don’t understand how he hasn’t been gobbled up yet. He’s soft as a plush toy, shaped like a warm little loaf, and as sweet and silly as his name suggests.   Daily Rhythm & Routine   Pecan Pie starts his day bright and early at 6am with a quick potty break before heading inside for breakfast and his first burst of goofy morning energy. He’ll zoom around, explore absolutely everything, and occasionally test the world with his teeth—he’s a baby, after all—but he stops immediately when told “No.” He settles into a steady rhythm throughout the day: a couple of hours of play, followed by a nap, then outside again for potty time and more play in the yard or indoors.   He eats most of his meals by late morning and gets dinner around 5pm. Bedtime is around 8pm, with a quick 11pm potty break before sleeping soundly through the night in his pen or crate.   Personality & Progress   On his first couple days without any littermates, he was understandably a bit nervous and confused, but by day three, he had begun to trust that he was truly safe— much calmer, more confident, and able to settle for periods of independent play.   He has a wonderfully expressive mind and watching him learn the world is a joy (barking at his reflection - hey, who's that?!) He’s sunshine, silliness, and curiosity bundled into a soft, wiggly body.   Pecan Pie is loving, social, and affectionate. He enjoys being held like a baby and becomes completely calm when carried— an endearing habit that will make anyone fall for him.   He is definitely a teething puppy and loves exploring the yard and chewing on sticks and roots. He'll need lots of chew toys indoors to gnaw on! He rarely barks except when seeking attention or when spooked by his reflection.   Why He’s Special   His foster describes him as soft, weighted, and wonderfully comforting to hold— like a living plush toy. He’s adorable now and will be just as sweet as he grows. There’s something genuinely heartwarming about him, and whoever adopts him is getting a one-of-a-kind little companion.    December 3, 2025, 2:37 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Rescued together and now thriving in their foster home, they are growing into confident, gentle, affectionate companions who bring joy to every corner of the house.       Daily Life in Their Foster Home       The Xmas Pups begin their day around 7am, untangling themselves from the cozy puppy pile in their large shared crate. Once the door opens, they make a beeline for the backyard for a morning potty break and a burst of zoomies. Breakfast follows, along with a full hour of outdoor exploring: chasing each other across the yard, wrestling over toys, chewing sticks, and trying their best to keep up with the resident dog and cat.       By mid-morning, their adventurous spirits give way to snuggles and naps. They curl up with their foster family in the kitchen before drifting off to sleep. When the humans leave the house, the pups stay in a spacious kitchen-area setup with beds and toys. Their preferred spot, however, is all together under the kitchen island, tucked into their own little puppy fort.       Lunch is served around noon, followed by another round of playing and napping. Dinner arrives at 5pm, fueling a final stretch of romping before the family settles in for the evening. The pups happily pile onto the living room couch to watch TV and enjoy gentle cuddles. After one last trip outside, they head to bed at 10pm and sleep soundly through the night.       All four puppies are gentle, snuggly, good with other dogs and cats, able to climb stairs, and already crate trained. They play beautifully as a pack, though the “leader” tends to rotate daily.           Jingle Bells (M – blue collar)       Jingle Bells is the curious explorer of the group, often wandering off to investigate new sights and smells. He’s confident without being pushy and doesn’t let his sisters boss him around. Mealtime is a full-body experience for him— literally— because he enjoys his food so much that he tends to step right into the dish! He’s endearing, adventurous, and full of happy energy. And a foodie in the making, so training should be a breeze!       Holly (F – purple collar)       Holly is the easiest-going pup of the litter and the first to flop over for well-deserved belly rubs. With her soft, toasted-marshmallow coloring and natural charm, she even seems to enjoy posing for the camera. She is playful in the gentlest way, often chewing on her siblings during playtime (who take it in stride). Holly has an incredibly sweet, balanced temperament and loves any opportunity for affection.       Mistletoe (F – yellow collar)   Mistletoe has the most outgoing personality of the bunch and instantly gravitates toward people. She loves all humans and isn’t shy about requesting attention— she’ll raise a paw as if politely asking to be scooped up. During meal prep, she can often be found sitting on her foster mom’s feet like a tiny sous-chef. She is social, warm-hearted, and eager to bond.     Tinsel (F – pink collar)     Tinsel shares Jingle Bells’ adventurous streak and carries it with a confident, independent spirit. She explores the yard on her own and is usually the last puppy to come back inside after outdoor play. She has a natural sense of leadership without being bossy, and she approaches the world with curiosity and poise. Tinsel is brave, joyful, and ready for her next adventure.     The Xmas Pups are now ready for homes that will guide them through puppyhood with consistency, gentle structure, and plenty of affection. With their sweet natures, growing confidence, and love for both people and other animals, they are sure to bring warmth and cheer to any family lucky enough to call them their own.December 3, 2025, 8:33 pm
