Story
Boogie is a 78 lbs 7 year old mix who is ready for his forever family or even someone who can foster him until we find him his permanent home. He is a big gentle softie with a heart of gold. Boogie has been coming out of his shell over the last week and now seeks human love and attention. He is relaxed and happy to snooze in his own. Boogie will fall asleep if you give him head scratches! He is very food-oriented and is quickly learning commands for treats. He is potty-trained and has excellent house manners. He loves his walks but is strong. He used to live with BABY who is also available for adoption separately or together. He is sweet and affectionate, low to medium energy, and ready to find a family that will love and take care of him. Ideally no cats and would do best in a home with a yard. He does have allergies that need to be managed but he is a healthy and happy boy!

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Meet the Retro Puppies: Fax & Typewriter   The Retro puppies are a litter of eight Doodle-type pups with an old-school name set and a brand-new start on life. They were found dumped on the street and brought to a local shelter, which then reached out to DPS for help. Now safe in foster care and living in small groups, these throwback-named pups are thriving and showing off their unique personalities. They are about 3–4 months old, and based on their current size and structure, we expect them to grow into medium-to-large dogs as adults.   With their Doodle-type coats, the Retro puppies will likely shed less than many dogs, but they may not be the right fit for adopters with serious allergies. Like all mixed breeds, coat type and allergen levels can vary as they grow.   Their foster routine is helping them build confidence and good habits. Breakfast is served between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., followed by a full day of classic puppy activities: playing hard, napping harder, and repeating. They go outside to potty every couple of hours or whenever they signal they need to go. On work-from-home days, lunch is around 2:00 p.m.; on office days, they get a snack before the foster leaves and another right after returning home. Dinner is around 7:30 p.m., and the household winds down around midnight. It’s a routine that gives these former street pups a sense of stability—and they’re soaking it up.   Fax   Fax may be the smallest of the bunch, but she’s proof that good things come in compact packages. From the moment she arrived home, she was ready to explore— immediately setting out to investigate the yard and even attempting to climb into the garden bed. She’s fearless and endlessly curious, sprinting around like a fluffy little cotton ball.   Despite her adventurous streak, Fax is incredibly gentle and affectionate. She never barks, loves to cuddle, and gives the sweetest kisses. Right now, she’s perfectly lap-sized and takes full advantage of it whenever she can. While she’ll grow into a bigger dog, her loving, people-oriented personality is already firmly established. Fax is the kind of puppy who balances fun and affection effortlessly.   Typewriter   Typewriter is the thoughtful correspondent of the group. When she first arrived, she took a moment to observe her surroundings, quietly lying in her crate and processing the change. It didn’t take long for her to warm up, and within a couple of days she transformed into a snuggly, affectionate puppy who enjoys being close to her people.   Typewriter is also very communicative and isn’t shy about reporting anything she finds unusual. She’ll bark to alert her foster to new or suspicious items— like an unfamiliar toy or a fallen trash can that suddenly resembles a spooky tunnel. One particularly memorable moment was when she spotted a cat perched on the backyard fence. Instead of barking at the cat, she ran straight to her foster and barked to make sure the situation was properly logged and acknowledged. She's a smart girl and she wants everyone to know it!   She has a striking, unique feature as well: a small section of her right iris is noticeably lighter than the rest of her eye. It’s subtle and hard to capture in photos, but in person it gives her an extra dash of character— perfect for a pup with such a distinctive personality.   Fax and Typewriter are charming, loving Retro pups ready to grow up in homes that will give them the time, patience, and guidance every puppy needs. With continued socialization, structure, and training, these former strays are well on their way to becoming wonderful medium-to-large companions— proof that sometimes the best things come back in style.January 12, 2026, 4:37 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800   Meet Cassette, Floppy Disk, and Xerox, three members of the Retro Puppies, a litter of eight Doodle-type pups with old-school names and a brand-new start on life. These throwback pups were found dumped on the street and brought to a local shelter, which then reached out to DPS for help. Now safe in foster care and living in small groups, they’re thriving, rewinding the past with their names while fast-forwarding into bright futures. They are about 3–4 months old, and based on their current size and structure, they are expected to grow into medium-to-large dogs as adults. With their Doodle-type coats, they will likely shed less than many dogs, though they may not be the right fit for adopters with serious allergies, as coat type and allergen levels can vary as they grow.       These Retro Puppies have a daily routine that runs like a well-organized mixtape. They sleep together in a kennel with a soft bed where they lounge and a pee pad they mostly keep clean and dry. In the mornings, they wait quietly until around 7:00–7:30 a.m. to be let outside, showing off their growing potty skills by holding it until it’s time to go. Once outside, they have access to food throughout the day, though they usually hit play on playtime before stopping for a snack. Their days are a steady loop of eating, napping, and playing, with plenty of outdoor time. While they nap inside as well, they strongly prefer the backyard, where they can stretch out in the sun. When the day winds down, they come inside for one last potty break around 8:00 p.m. and then power down for the night, sleeping from about 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.       If there’s one thing these puppies prove, it’s that the classics never get old— especially when it comes to being outside. Even when it’s cold, they’d rather be hanging out in the yard, exploring, playing with toys, and lounging like sun-loving little throwbacks. CThey’re also incredibly friendly with new people and greet everyone like an old friend, ready to play and soak up attention.       Cassette is the ultimate comfort track. She’s the cuddliest of the trio, always eager to roll over for belly rubs and soak up affection. She’s adventurous, curious, and fun, making her the perfect blend of playful puppy and cozy companion.       Floppy Disk is the good ole hit single. She’s the most playful and absolutely obsessed with toys, especially squeaky ones. Tug-of-war is her game of choice, and she’s always ready to keep the fun spinning with another round. Once she's done with playtime, she's ready for cuddles!       Xerox is the smooth, low-tempo classic. She’s most likely to end up asleep in your lap, fully committed to lounging and being adored. She loves belly rubs and isn’t shy about letting you know she does not want you to stop!       Cassette, Floppy Disk, and Xerox are friendly, playful, and full of personality—proof that some of the best things come back around. These Retro Puppies are ready to leave their rough beginnings behind and record the next chapter of their lives with families who will appreciate their charm, energy, and timeless appeal.January 13, 2026, 2:33 pm
