Story
Kiki: 7 month old spayed female lab mix, about 26 lbs Kiki is just a total love bug her foster mom says. She is on the skinny side but getting plenty to eat now and will round out soon. Her foster family says Kiki is playful and full of energy and loves to cuddle. She gets along and plays well with other dogs. She appears to be house trained (no accidents in the house) and is crate trained. She has learned sit and we are working on stay and not jumping on people when excited. She is protective of her food around other dogs so she will need to be crated when fed if there are other dogs in the home. Kiki is just a such a sweet girl and such a puppy. She is ready for her forever family to show her the ropes!Application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdjb9UF3rx2UeLrL9RTe5WFL-OU6ZJCXIPLV2qhDP5e1GmPhA/viewform or visit 4Paws2Love.org

Story
Herbert is genuinely the kindest dog. He greets you every morning by trying to bury himself into you. He loves spending every moment he can with people or snuggled up next to another dog. He's a genuine sweetheart. He’s 2 years old, and weighs in at only about 45 lbs.  Best guesses are that Herbert’s a lab / husky mix… maybe with some cattle dog thrown in! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Hebert is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.April 17, 2024, 5:12 pm

Story
Hello I'm Pawly and I am looking for a running partner. I have great endurance and would love to find someone who likes to run as much as me. I like other dogs and get along with everybody. Even though I have a lot of energy, I am a level headed and ignore the drama. I was found very emaciated and have some food insecurity so feeding me by myself in a kennel makes me feel safe. I will need a large yard or to be with someone who likes to run around and adventure with me. I have not been tested with cats or children. Story
Macie is a happy pup with a big smile and kind heart. She has grown up with her family and has helped them welcome 3 babies in the world! She's been wonderful with all three kids (now ages 2.5 through 4.5). Macie isn't one for fetch, but she does love to play tug of war and go on moderate walks. Macie also likes being near her humans most of the time, and can usually be found on the floor around them. She also has a fur sister that she's lived with for 7 years. Unfortunately, her fur sister has some health problems and has grown intolerant of having Macie around. Therefore, Macie is seeking a new home where she can be loved for years to come. Story
Baxter was found abandoned near the Ennis American Legion post in late October. His foster took him into their home for protection from the two nights of freezing temperatures expected. They took him to a vet in hopes a microchip might reunite him with his family. Good news is he was chipped!  Bad news is, when the vet reached his previous family, they declined to claim him. But that means a new start for this sweet guy! His fosters had him thoroughly examined, ensured his vaccinations were updated, and started Baxter on Heartguard and Nextguard. He is very sweet, estimated at about 2 years old, 63 lbs, neutered, apparently house trained, very friendly and smart. After two weeks of slow integration, he and his 3 foster sibling dogs share backyard playtime and get along fabulously. In just two weeks he is learning to walk gently on leash; has already learned “sit”; and “stop/sit/stay” at intersections on his walkies. He loves people and wants to spend time with both his human friends and canine buddies. He’s an active dog, and due to his size small children might be overwhelmed; and to continue his training he probably needs an experienced dog owner. Story
I acquired Loki because he was abandoned when he was a puppy. He has mostly lived in apartments and when we finally moved into a house, he still preferred to be indoors. He has never chewed items out of boredom. We only have to put food away as he is very food driven when it comes to training. He doesn't care for balls, but he loves ropes, squeaky toys or bones. He needs to go to a home with older kids as he has been very nervous around smaller kids since my son was born. Loki does not like his nails trimmed so to counter that, we get about 4 miles of exercise. He can still be very relaxed and lazy without the exercise. I just need his nails trimmed so we go outside.

I got Willie from a friend whose dog had puppies. I am in college and was living in a house at the time of getting Willie. I recently had to move into apartment and in addition my girlfriend just gave birth to our daughter. I just dont have the right environment or time for Willie now that my circumstances have changed. He is a very friendly and is very obedient. He has been a good companion on my hunting and fishing trips as well. He is great with kids and other dogs too. He loves people. He is a medium sized dog and weighs about 50lbs.

Story
Meet Bubba, a charming and friendly canine with a playful nature, Bub's favorite thing to do is learn. He will do anything for yummy treats. He and Vera came from the same litter, but Bubba is quite the extrovert. He is doing well on house training, so probably just showing him where to go when you take him home is enough. He seems to love other dogs so if you're looking for a dog for your dog, Bubba would love to meet you and your dog. Kid's need to be bigger cause this boy is a tank (a gentle one, but a tank nonetheless) You can come meet Bubba Tuesday through Friday 10am-5pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pmThe adoption fee for this pet is $75. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Maggie, and I'm 4 years old and weigh 55 lbs. It's difficult to tell in my photos, but I have a beautiful, shiny black coat with auburn highlights. I am a little shy at first, but once I get to know and trust someone, I will be the most loyal and loving dog ever. I have wonderful house manners, so my foster family leaves me with run of the house when they leave. I love toys, in fact I'm a little addicted to them! I don't chew or destroy them, I just love to carry them around, kind of like a security blanket. I love to take walks, and I have great leash manners, although I do like to stop and smell a few things along the way. So many interesting smells out there! I get along with most other dogs, but I definitely do best with a more laid back dog buddy. Truth be told, I would love to be an only dog so I can get all the attention and cuddles. I also prefer a quiet, low activity home. I'm really a low maintenance dog. Just hanging out with my people and an occasional walk, and I'm good! Please submit your application to meet me, and an adoption counselors will contact you.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Murdock is a very handsome Black Lab/Cocker Spaniel mix. We know that Cocker Spaniel is hard to believe, but that's what DNA results show. No guarantees on accuracy of the DNA test though. He has a gorgeous shiny coat and soft expressive eyes. Murdock is two years old and he weighs about 50 lbs. Foster dad says that Murdock is by far the smartest dog he has ever had, and he is energetic and adventurous! He is just the opposite of a couch potato and needs an adopter who will be active with him. Murdock's favorite things include going on hikes, walks around the neighborhood, chasing leaves and meeting new people. He is friendly with everyone he meets (human and canine) and greets them with a wagging tail. Murdock will be a loving and loyal companion for some lucky adopter.

Hey there - it’s me - Doc.   You might have seen some pictures of me when I first came in.  Boy was that embarrassing!  But this Doc got to see a real doc and let’s just say everything is back to normal!   I’m at that perfect pointer age - past the puppy stages but still with lots of energy to be a walking or running buddy.   I will admit I could use some leash training but darn it the world is exciting, I just want to explore as much as I can.  Don’t get me wrong - I like a good snuggle too.   So I’m looking for my family or a buddy to play with and hang out.  C’mon - you know you want to snuggle with me!!! retrieveafriend.org/adoptVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 15, 2024, 11:21 pm
