Rogan came in as a stray but we believe the person that had her was the actual owner. He is healthy with no known issues. Good on a leash and very energetic. NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. Story
Meet Mello! He is a 5-year-old, 65 lb Labrador-Australian Cattle Dog mix is ready to find the forever home he's always deserved. Fully vetted and neutered, Mello is a loyal companion with a heart full of love. He's happiest by your side--whether it's going for long walks (he's improving on leash every day!), playing fetch, or simply relaxing near you. Mello is potty trained, crate trained (though we recommend a gated area or quiet room instead), and a great eater. He's also a fantastic alert dog: quiet by nature, but will let you know if someone's at the door. Mello has been through a lot--surviving past abuse and now in his fourth home through no fault of his own. Because of this, he needs an experienced, patient owner, and to be the only pet in an adult-only structured household where he can truly thrive. He's deeply affectionate, incredibly loyal, and just wants to be loved--and he'll show you every day how much he loves you in return. If you're looking for a devoted best friend who's ready to heal and grow with you, Mello might be your perfect match. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Mello is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.March 21, 2026, 12:23 am

Story
Hey, I am Nova! I’m 1 year old and a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to play all day. I have a big personality and an even bigger heart. I love attention, give hugs often, and I’m always ready to be rubbed on. I will absolutely adore my person. I’m very intelligent and learn quickly, but I have a lot of energy and curiosity. Sometimes I get into things—I just really love to play and stay busy! I enjoy being around people and other pets, and I would love a home with a similarly aged dog to help keep me entertained. A yard where I can run around and burn off energy would make me very happy. My ideal home: • An active adult or family who enjoys movement and play • Someone familiar with high-energy or working breeds (or ready for that commitment) • A home with space to run (yard or land preferred) • Bonus: another playful dog companion I’ve worked on training and I’m very capable of learning, but I do best with someone who can give me consistent engagement and structure.

Story
Buddy has the sweetest personality for being such a big boy. He gets along with small dogs and cats and loves kids. He tolerates bath time and getting his nails clipped. He loves water. I've had Buddy going on 3 months now and from the beginning, he's been completely potty trained. He's crate trained as well. His favorite thing to do is give his paw for a quick shake. He enjoys balls and sticks in the yard as well. Buddy needs structure and discipline because of his size. He's been in training for basic obedience and because he's so smart, he's learning well. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Buddy is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by his foster, not by DFWRM.March 21, 2026, 12:23 am

Story
Meet Honey Honey's story didn't start the way she deserved - she was dumped and left behind - but you'd never know it by the joy she brings into every room. This resilient girl has a heart as golden as her name and a spirit that refuses to dim. Honey is full of happy, wiggly energy and loves to play! One of her favorite things in the world is carrying toys around in her mouth like prized treasures. She'll proudly parade them past you, tail wagging, just waiting for you to join in on the fun. When playtime winds down, Honey transforms into a world-class cuddle bug. She absolutely adores snuggling up close and soaking up all the love she can get. She's wonderful with other dogs and does great with kids, making her the perfect addition to a playful, loving family. Honey has already proven she's strong and full of love. Now she just needs a forever home where she'll never be left behind again. retrieveafriend.org/adoptVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:46 pm
