Story
Animal Profile: Cody is an estimated 15-month-old, 50 lb neutered male lab mix (possibly with Catahoula) from Roswell New Mexico. He and his two litter mates were taken into the shelter as young pups and have been growing up in kennel-based foster care, including socialization with other dogs of all sizes and people. Unfortunately, despite their friendly temperaments, the three large-breed black dogs were not getting any adoption interest, so Cody has joined Dog Gone Seattle to find his forever home. More info to come as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Cody has really blossomed in foster care! He is great with other dogs -- no issues at all -- and will need another balanced dog or two in his forever home to help continue to build his confidence. He plays all day with our resident dog and loves to follow her around! He is great with his people in the home but still nervous of new people and needs time to warm up. Cody really enjoys playing with toys, swimming, hiking, and going on walks; he does best in familiar environments and with routine. He rides well in the car, is good in the crate both day and night now, and sleeps comfortably in the crate through the night. Cody would benefit an owner who has experience with initially shy dogs and can provide him confident leadership; as mentioned he will also need a resident dog(s) in the home. He has not been tested with cats but can be upon request from a qualified adopter.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was taken into rescue as a puppy and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle rescue arriving to foster care on Feb 23, 2024 and will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. September 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
Animal Proflie: Orca is an estimated 1.5 year old 40 lb female lab mix who was found wandering in freezing temps in Moses Lake WA. Orca is friendly meeting people. She is a little awkward and unsure but not reactive or aggressive meeting new dogs, and would likely benefit from having a friendly resident dog in the home. She has lived with two other dogs and is left in the house loose with the other dogs with no issue when the humans are not home; she is now house-trained and crate trained. She has been exposed to dogs and kids and done well with all. She has not been tested with cats. She is a bit unsure in new environments and will need a patient home that can help guide her and continue her training.  Foster Update: Orca is a super sweet girl. She loves to give kisses and get attention from her people. She’s good with basic commands that include sit, stay, come, go to bed, and in the crate (which was new to her). She’s not destructive and I’m sure would be fine alone outside of the crate.  In the beginning she was very timid and scared on walks. She seems much more comfortable now with the city sights and sounds, although she still shies away from buses and trucks or other big and loud vehicles. She’s generally friendly with other people, although she's usually shy about saying hello. She’s curious but unsure about other dogs and she’s also usually fine to just walk on by. She'd likely do well living with other dogs as she has previously. Her leash walking is a work in progress and she'll need continued training on that. Her young dog energy is starting to appear now and she’s much more energetic on walks. She has done well hiking and would probably be a good running buddy! She likes to do zoomies outside in the yard and jumps up when excited and wants to play, so that's something we’re working on.  Adoption Info: Orca's adoption fee is $550, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Orca was found as a stray in Moses Lake in January 2024; she was microchipped and had been adopted thru Grant County Animal Outreach but apparently the adopters had dumped her in freezing temps. The finders kept her until she could be transferred to rescue. DGS accepted her in May 2024 and she will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. September 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Lola is an estimated 1 year old spayed female lab mix (DNA test showed some other breeds including cattle dog, husky and Great Pyrenees) who is full grown at a perfectly petite 42 lbs. Despite her rough beginning, having lived most of her puppy life on a tie out day and night, she has a friendly and playful demeanor and is quick to trust new people. In foster care, she has learned the basics of house-training, crate-training, and beginning obedience such as sit, down, and loose-leash walking; she will benefit from a family who can continue to provide more advanced training. This girl is energetic, likes to run, loves to go on car rides, enjoys fetch, playing in the water, and toys. She is starting to appreciate quiet time and soothing pets, two. She currently lives with two other female dogs and they all play well; she accepts corrections from other dogs appropriately. She has met kids in the 7-10 year old range and been very friendly. She is working on her excited mouthiness and has shown improvement with training. She has a tendency to tease/bark at the goats and chickens, with the only interactions being through a fence. She has been fine toward horses and donkeys. Lola is a lovely dog who has shown a great deal of resilience in her short life and a committed family will reap the benefits of her joyful demeanor and kind spirit.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test, health certificate, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Lola was rescued from an outdoor existence in Oregon where she was in dire need of medical care (with a large tumor in her mouth) and just attention. She has been in foster care with Dog Gone Seattle since May 6, 2024. She had her tumor removed and according to pathology the surgery should be curative; she is now spayed, healthy, and ready for adoption in the greater Seattle area.September 18, 2024, 4:32 pm

I’m Lady, a 7 year old chocolate Lab mix who lives with my foster mom and my fellow pups who I love to play with. I am dog friendly and crate and potty trained. I’m happy that I am loved and have buddies. I see fellow foster pups come and then leave to their forever homes. I hopefully will soon find my forever family and home. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Story
Hi, I’m Koda and I’m looking for my special furever family. I’m a 3 year old lab mix, around 45lbs. My foster mama thinks that I’m very sweet, shy, and loving. I love being with my four legged friends – either dogs of all sizes or cats! That’s right, you can call me your little love bug and I will follow you around for love pats and belly scratches. I even have a trick – yup I’m a magician - throw a dog biscuit near me it will disappear! I’m smart too – I know some commands like "House" to go to Mandalay's kennel to eat, my name and I even come when I’m called! Ok well, mostly I come LOL. I’m still working on the leash bit – I get a bit too excited and a whole bunch anxious so … sometimes I forget all my manners. It probably is better that I go to a family that has older kids (and a little calmer) and I would love to have some four legged friends to play with. Well, that’s me … do you have room for a little love bug in your family? *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. Hi there, I'm Fefe and I am the sweetest thing. I am a 3 year old lab mix, around 50 lbs. If you are looking for a sweet best friend, partner in crime and ultimate fetch player you have found me. I love all the peoples, all the other doggos and my ball (and any other ball I can put my mouth on). I am the pup who will happily play fetch for hours and then curl up and nap beside you till you are ready for another game. If you have another dog, that's great, as a loving and happy lab I am all up for more friends. If I sound like the perfect pet to you, then I sound like the perfect pet to others, so move fast or you'll have to fetch your own ball! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. Story
Hi! My name is Scottie, but I am not a Scottie dog, I am not short with long wavy black hair, I am tall with straight blonde hair. So perhaps a better name for me would be Labbie? But I am used to Scottie as a name so we can stick with it. Plus you can make some really cool spin-offs, such as Scottster, Scottie Biscotti, Scottie Spaghetti MeatBall Yoyo, or whatever, be creative. I am an energetic neutered male, 3 year old, Labrador Retriever, with beach blonde hair and the athletic build to make any gidget fall head over heels. I am strong, so you will need a good leash holding arm for all those walks you will take me on. I can’t wait to get excited as I watch you put your tenny shoes on! I have had a couple of homes as I was once adopted from the city shelter and then abandoned on the streets to take cover from rain at a gas station and once again homeless and back to a foster home. Whew. I am looking for an active family with a gentle yet strong leader to help guide me through life and maybe teach me some leash manners and keep me as a permanent family member. I hope to learn more words from you, maybe heel, stay, roll over. I will also teach you a word. Groke, a verb, an old Scots term meaning to look at somebody while they’re eating in the hope that they’ll give you some of their food. Which brings me to my next point. As any true and classic Labrador Retriever I adore both toys and treats. But if I had to choose between the two, which do you think I would pick? Yep. FOOD! Please ask my Foster Mom for more details about me. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. Story
Loki is a sweet boy, loves to play, and protective of his owners. I’ve thought him to sit to receive cuddles. He’s pretty chill around the house. He does not bark at other dogs, but he will let you know if someone is approaching he doesn’t recognize at home. He does not do well with children! He has nipped at my daughters, and at their friends and For that reason we can no longer keep him. Loves his walks but is strong and can pull (about 60-65lbs), chasing balls and frisbee and playing with other dogs as long as they both have a toy. He can be possessive with his toys and assertive. He is treat motivated and and will return on a beep command from his collar. Would be best rehomed with a person or couple who do not plan on having children or have children in the home. We hope he can find a family who can give him love and understand his temperament and have the patience/time to work with him. He is crate trained! (We will provide his first bag of food as well as a large crate.)

I'm around 4 months of age, a well balanced social fella that is just happy to be living life to the fullest. I am loving, playful and energetic. Being your typical pup I will need lots of exercise and playtime. I have a sweet nature that does well with people and am great with the other foster pups here although I haven't met any of those creatures y'all call a cat yet! If introduced properly at my tender age I should do good with them too! While I do love playing with my 4legged furry siblings I tend to want to be close to my people. I come in at around 25lbs. I should stay a pawsomely mediumish size of around 50lbs when I get myself fully growed up. From a companion to tag along on all your daily going on's to an action packed sidekick tackling those nature trails, I'll be ready to go! I'm so looking forward to being that heartbeat at your feet, ready to give you all this love and butt wiggles I've got stored up!! And right beside you is my most favoritest place to be!!! I am crate trained and almost all the way house trained using a doggie door. I'm such a smart lil fella, ready to learn...everything! They are siblings age 6 years old and weighs around 60LBS each. They are wonderful wonderful family dog. We had them since they were 8 weeks old and at the time our girls were young (now teenagers) and they did very well with them. We do not hnt so I can not tell you if our dogs will do well in a hunting situation. They are full of energy and will run for hours. We're desperately seeking a loving individual or family who can offer them a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. Please, if you have room in your heart and home for these sweet souls, reach out to us. Your kindness could make all the difference in their lives. Unfortunate circumstances have forced us to make the heartbreaking decision to rehome our 2 cherished 6-year-old unneutered male German Shorthair Pointers. This decision to find them a new home did not come lightly since we have tried everything possible to keep them. It is due to reasons beyond our control.
