FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Stella is a ~6 year old Lab/Pit mix. She is loving, friendly and wants nothing more than to have a home where she can get lots of cuddles, treats and attention. Once she knows you she is sweet as a button and loves her people deeply. Stella's favorite things are treats, a comfy bed and lots of pets. You can find her cuddled up on her bed and sunbathing on a nice day. She has a calm demeanor and walks well on a leash. Stella is She's has a very high prey drive and can be aggressive towards other animals. She needs a family that has dog reactivity experience so they know how to keep her safe and separate. Stella would do best in an adult-only home or with kids over the age of 12. Not because she is aggressive towards people, she just prefers a quiet and calm home where she can be loved and spend her days relaxing :) She is UTD on her vaccinations, spayed and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Lady Rover! She is a friendly, 6-year-old, 79 lb Lab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. She is a strong dog who pulls on the leash when going for walks. She will need a strong adopter who can handle her strength. She knows basic commands and takes treats gently. She can be selective with other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home. She would love a home with a yard where she can explore and lounge! She has not been tested with kids or cats but due to her size and strength we are recommending kids over 10 years old. Lady Rover is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Meet Cooper! Cooper is an energetic, playful, 1-year-old, 70 lb, chocolate Lab. He is strong and still young and will need someone who is willing to work with him on his overall obedience training. He will need an active home and would love a family that likes to go on walks, hikes, and adventures. He is working stock and he would do well with someone who would like to do field training with him and give him a job. His perfect forever home would have a securely fenced yard for him to run and play in a suburban or rural neighborhood. He is not an apartment or city dog. He does not do well with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home. He is microchipped, neutered and UTD on shots. His adoption fee is $500.

He loves his people and plays well with other dogs. He would love an active family to take him for outings and hikes. He also could use some support with obedience training to get better handling. He is a very excited and happy boy, as well as adorably curious! He takes treats gently but we recommend a home without small children due to his excitability and jumpiness. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Calliope! She is an energetic and playful girl who is ready for her forever home! Calliope is a Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix, she weighs around 60 lbs and is around 1 year old. Calliope is very active, and she will need a family that can keep her properly exercised. Hiking, walks/runs, and a large, securely fenced yard to run would be ideal for her. She is very sweet but can get over excited and will need continuation of basic obedience as well as leash manners and working on not jumping when excited. Because she is large and jumpy, we are recommending no small children as she could accidently knock them over. Calliope is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Say hello to Eden! She is a sweet, adorable, 35 lb, 8-month-old mixed breed who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. She still has her puppy energy and can be jumpy but is able to focus quite well on her person which will help with her obedience training. Eden has been learning sit and is doing quite well! She has not been tested with cats or kids but due to her energy and excitement, we are recommending a home with kids over 7. Eden LOVES to play with other pups! She would love a home with another dog to help show her the ropes as she grows up and be a playmate, or a home that has other dogs in their friend/family circle for her to socialize with. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard for her to run and play in a suburban or rural neighborhood. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Hello everyone!!!  I'm Tammie.  I am a really well behaved lady.  I don't get in trouble.  My foster mom says I'm adorable.   I am good in the crate and love walking on a leash.  I also LOVE cats...specially kittens.  I have been known to groom them.  lol  I haven't had much luck with other dogs in my past.  Some were not friendly towards me and made me a bit scared.  They used to eat all my food and bully me.  I would prefer to be the only dog.   Let me think.....things I don't like...getting my nails trimmed.  The previous owners used to hurt me and make my nails bleed.   I love treats and enjoy laying on the grass when it's sunny outside.  I am ok in the car also.   I have been waiting a long time.  I'm not puppy cute, but there is not much you have to teach me.  I will adapt very well to any living environment.  I am so ready to find my furever family.  Are you the ones???? We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Story
Animal Profile:  Artie is an estimated 4-year-old, 65 lb female Lab/Shepherd mix who loves snuggles and belly rubs. She is friendly with all people, including kids. Her previous owner described her as gentle, loving, playful, and attentive with kids of all ages. Artemis is a smart girl who learns quickly and knows basic commands. She is both house trained and crate trained.  Artemis would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can run and play. Foster Update 5/3/24: Artie has been doing very well with all types of training. She can be around the other dogs without a leash (and even enjoys playing with the other pups), her "bubble" has shrunk to the point that an unfamiliar dog basically has to run into her to generate a reaction, and she's still her same cuddly self in the house.  Foster Update: Artie is a very good and chill dog with an excellent foundation of training. She walks well on leash with a training collar and heels on command. She's made tremendous progress when encountering unfamiliar dogs on walks. She doesn’t react from a distance at all and can now pass by calmly as long as they stay outside her “bubble” of about 2 feet. She's conditioned to a muzzle and accepts it easily; it seems to make her more comfortable encountering new dogs. After slow introductions, she's become best buds with a large male Lab and a medium female Aussie in her foster home. Adopter Profile: Large breed experience required Secure fenced yard required Balanced dogs OK No cats Kids OK Adoption Info: Artie's adoption fee is $350, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Artie came to the Quincy Animal Shelter as a stray. She was adopted by a family with kids with special needs in Fall 2022 and surrendered to DGS in July 2023 because they were unable to give her the attention she deserves. She is currently being fostered in Bellingham and is available for adoption.May 24, 2024, 10:00 pm
