Story
HISTORY: Trigger came into rescue in March 2023 as an owner surrender in eastern Washington. She looks to be about a 2-4 year old Boxer / Labrador mix with 3 legs. FOSTER UPDATE: Trigger is doing great and loves going for walks and rolling around in the grass. She has earned her nickname "Sugar" - she is a very sweet dog. She loves to wag, cuddle, get belly rubs, and give kisses. She can be cautious with new people, but she warms up pretty quickly and is a cuddler - leaning in for hugs, gently putting her paw on your leg to ask for snuggles, and laying her head or body on your lap when you sit or lay near her. She has a lot of love to give. She has good coordination and endurance and loves to go on long walks (with little breaks). She gets pretty excited about bunnies and would like to chase them, so she does best walking on a leash. She seems to be more comfortable with smaller dogs rather than bigger dogs. ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue. Story
Lab mix puppy NEEDS A FOSTER!! Meet Callie! She and another pup, Capri, have had a really unfair start; they were recently dumped in Eastern WA. Someone witnessed the person dumping them with tied their legs together, presumably so they couldn't run. Isn't that awful?! Both pups are about 6 months old and seem to be in good health. Though we recently noted that Callie does have a tooth that needs to come out, and she still needs her spay. Callie is very friendly and still trusting of people.. She has been described as having "typical lab energy.." She needs someone to continue working on basic training with her. She has bright, friendly, puppy energy. The very best thing about Callie is, she just has a heart of gold. She is a wiggly puppy that sometimes jumps up on you, BUT she is SO affectionate and loyal. She just wants love, and to be loved so bad. She wants to please you. She is quite honestly the most loyal dog we have in our 30 dogs in rescue. She is good with other dogs. She briefly had a foster home for a couple weeks, and loved running and playing at the sniff spot that her foster mom took her too. She will need dogs of similar age and energy though, as she is still quite puppy. Sadly that foster could no longer have her, so we are on the hunt for someone to help her get out of a cage again! She would do best with a calm home environment, with someone who has the time to focus on her, and who is consistent, and ideally working from home or around alot. We are seeking a foster who can match her energy, train her, and also give her a place to recover so she cat get spayed and get her dental work done. Given her age, we REALLY need to get her out of the kennel. Would you be willing to provide a foster home, even just for the short term? If so, please go to our website redwagginrescue.org to fill out an application! Story
Lylla is the sweetest chocolate lab you’ll ever meet. She is coming up on 3 years old and is as healthy as can be. She gets along great with my 5 year old lab and 9 year old cat (though her energy can be too much at times) She is energetic, adventurous, hilarious and the snuggliest dog ever. She’s a wonderful running partner, adventure buddy and cuddle buddy. My life circumstances have changed and I unfortunately don’t have the time that these dogs deserve.

Story
Hey, I’m Jimbo! I’m a sweet and lovable guy who’s always ready for a hug. I absolutely love snuggling up with my favorite humans, and I might even make little chittering sounds with my teeth when I’m feeling extra cozy or excited. It’s just one of my cute quirks! I’m dog-friendly and get along great with my furry pals. I’m also VERY clever, verging on stubborn at times. I’ve also gone through professional training with one of our local training partners, which has helped me build great manners and show off just how smart I am. I’d love to keep learning even more neat stuff with my future person. With a medium energy level, I’m just as happy lounging around for cuddles as I am going for a walk or playing with my dog friends. If you’re looking for a smart, snuggly, and affectionate companion, I could be the one for you! I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! Our first meeting/interview for adoption occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Apply to adopt me at https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/BRAZ/27759-long-distance-adopt-app. If you have questions, please email jami@spcabc.org.

Meet the snack puppies! These little cuties look like mini labs and also have some Heeler and terrier thrown in the mix. They’re 8 weeks old and 6-8 pounds, and we estimate they’ll be around (estimate here) full grown. They’re yet another accidental litter, but thankfully mom will be getting fixed with the owner and these pups will find great forever homes and all be fixed to stop the cycle of endless unwanted litters. They’re happy, playful puppies who adore attention. They have great temperaments and will make fantastic family companions! Girls: Nilla, Goldfish, Cheez-It, Pringle Boys: Funyan, Chex

These pups are in Kirkland, Washington too!

Story
Meet Ranger – The Ultimate Adventure Buddy Ranger is a 4–6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who’s ready to find a home that matches his energy, loyalty, and love for fetch. Found roaming a neighborhood, this sweet boy was taken in by a kind stranger who saw the good dog beneath the dust. Now he’s ready for his next chapter—and he’s bringing his ball with him. This guy checks a lot of boxes. He’s great with kids, friendly with small dogs, house and kennel trained, and knows basic commands. Ranger is affectionate, gentle, and loves being wherever you are—especially if that means riding shotgun on a car ride or playing a never-ending game of fetch in the backyard. He's happiest when he's outdoors, running off leash (in a safely fenced yard) or keeping you company at your side. His only mischief? He’s got a curious nose for the trash and may beg when food is around—but he’s too sweet to scold for long. What Ranger Offers: - Great with kids and small dogs - Knows commands, house and kennel trained - Low bark level, couch-mannered (only if invited) - Loves fetch, car rides, and being your shadow - Calm for indoor baths, less a fan of the hose - Affectionate, loyal, and fun-loving What Ranger Needs: - An active person or family who loves the outdoors - A decent-sized fenced yard with a tall fence - Someone with a strong throwing arm—he lives for fetch Ranger is looking for more than just a place to live—he’s looking for a human to belong to. If you’re ready for a companion who brings his own tennis ball and a heart full of love, Ranger’s your guy. ************************************************************* ADOPTION INFO - Dog application fees include: - All basic dog vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (up to $400) - Neuter (up to $300) - Microchip All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue.
