Story
I love Cooper. He is 3 years old and is in excellent shape. Cooper loves to retrieve. He is super athletic and would make an excellent bird dog. He is a great dog and I am more than a little sad to give him up. But I am currently splitting my time between Washington and California and it is unfair to be keeping him at the kennel or with pet sitters so often.

Story
Magnolia is as lovely as the flower and will fill your home with loads of beauty and sweetness. Magnolia is about 6-years-old and looking for her new family. She's hoping they will be patient with her as she grows in confidence and blossoms into who she dreams of being. Magnolia is shy at first and takes some time to feel comfortable around new people and in new situations. But once she trusts you, she is full of joy and enthusiasm for life and adventures. She thinks being outside is the absolute best, whether it's going for walks, hikes, playing with toys, or sunbathing. Then coming inside for some playtime and a restful snooze is next on the list of Magnolia's favorite things. Magnolia is looking for a home with just older teens (16+) and adults who have experience why shy dogs. She will do best in a calm, predictable home, in a quiet neighborhood where she can focus on decompressing and settling into her new place. Magnolia has a good history with other dogs but can be selective. She has never lived with cats, and any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. If you're ready to welcome home this special lady, make an adoption appointment to meet her today!*Magnolia's adoption process is slightly different and will require at least two meet and greets at the shelter with all residents of the household present.*#playful #lovescarrides #housetrained #nokids

Story
Meet Bram, the adorable 6-month-old Labrador mix puppy who is as sweet as he is playful. Bram is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves to have fun and is always up for a game of fetch or a run around the park. He is a medium-energy pup who is always ready for a good romp, but also loves to snuggle up with his humans and take a nap. Bram is very friendly and loves everyone he meets - whether they have two legs or four! He gets along great with other dogs, cats, and even kids. He is a social butterfly who just wants to be friends with everyone he meets. Bram is kennel trained and has been working on his potty training skills. He is a smart pup who is eager to please and will do well with continued training. Bram loves to dig in the sand and hide his bone, making him a great companion for a family who loves outdoor adventures. Bram was found as a stray in Texas at a rural shelter and was going to be euthanized before he was rescued and brought to Washington. He is now looking for his forever home where he can live out his days surrounded by love and happiness. If you're looking for a playful and affectionate pup to join your family, Bram is the perfect choice. Come meet him today and see for yourself why he is so special!

Story
Hunter is a sweet and active boy that spent way too much time in our city shelter. His foster family has been working with him and he does well with the other dogs in foster care; however, slow introductions to humans and animals is always recommended. He's learned to walk on leash, is house trained, can sit and (sometimes) stay. Hunter just wants to be loved!Hunter is located in TX; however, transport is available for $230 to select destinations. If you believe you can give this sweetheart the life he deserves, please apply today.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Animal Profile:  Joel is an estimated 3-year-old 45-50 lb neutered mail shimmery "Texas Brown Dog" -- some sort of lab mix with possibly herding breed, shepherd, cur and/or bully. Joel has been fostered in TX temporarily in a full house of dogs and people, and is reported to be very social, friendly, good on leash and crate trained. He originally came into rescue in TX when his owner came upon hard times and hd to surrender him. Joel knows basic commands and is even tempered and balanced; he loves other dogs and people and has been great with kids 10 and up. He hasn't lived with younger kids but would likely be okay. He has not been evaluated with cats yet. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Joel has settled into life in the PNW and is now house trained and crate trained. He enjoys his morning and evening walkies but doesn't have extensive exercise needs. At first he was excitable in the house and mouthy, but with a little time and consistency he is doing amazing. Joel is doing well on leash and has a social personality; he's eager to greet new dogs and people. He's working on staying calm and "the art of doing nothing" in crowded situations. He is friendly meeting new people and dogs and would probably love to have a playmate in the house; he is not responsive to other reactive dogs and has no reactive behaviors himself. He is fairly confident and not spooked by new sights or sounds. He's even been riding the city bus like a champ! Recently, Joel met a cat and showed curiosity but not prey drive; we think he'd do OK in a home with a dog savvy cat!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Freer Animal Shelter via Must Love Mutts rescue and arriving to foster care in Seattle on 6/19/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area.September 26, 2023, 5:42 am
