Disclaimer: Ernesto is located in Texas. Once adopted, he can be transported. Transport cost is $230. Ernesto is a little cutie and sweetheart. We aren't sure what breed he is, more than likely a pug mix (curly tail & face), and a whole bunch of other stuff but he's 100% cute. He gets along great with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats, but can cat test him upon request.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org My name is Yambo Syd from Mexico and I am a wonderful approx. 5 month old male Pug mix.  I am approx. 7 lbs., a sweet, loving, fun and playful dog.  I am a very happy dog and so excited to find my forever home soon.  Mexico is so overloaded with dogs roaming all over the streets with no food, love or care.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to come to Seattle to find a new forever home!  Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your very best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, other dogs but have not been around cats before.  I will do best in a home with a loving family that can give me lots of exercise, love and affection!  Our pet rescue dog trainer would be happy to come to your home and help train with your new dog for only $75 and this is highly recommended. My adoption fee of $1395 . covers Spay/Neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordatella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Grooming, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate, and transport cost from MEXICO to SEA TTLE.  The adoption fee is firm and helps cover the medical expenses of our other rescue dogs in need.  We cannot guarantee age or breed.  Donations are always appreciated to help us pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501 C 3.  If you are interested,  please e-mail  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  for an adoption application.    May 29, 2023, 7:15 pm

Story
Nugget the Pugette is a sweet and playful gal! She came from a rough situation where her original owners had too many pets to properly care for, and in the process Nugget was attacked by another dog and is now partially blind in one eye. This doesn't stop her from being the happiest pup ever though! She is great with dogs of all sizes, cats (mostly just ignores them unless they like to play), and kids of all sizes. She's a spunky little gal, who likes to run around your feet, so we don't recommend her for an elderly family. Nuggy (as she's nicknamed by her foster mom) is pee pads trained and does well with house training when she's taken out often. Although pugs aren't the easiest breed to teach tricks to, she knows a few very handy commands such as: go to your bed, kennel up, let's go outside, come inside, and go lay down. This young lady will keep you entertained with her happy go lucky personality! She is leash trained with a harness but sometimes walks between your legs on walks. We're still working on the heel command. Nuggy isn't your typical pug that makes a lot of snorts and crazy pug sounds, and her vet gave her an A+ for nasal and lung sounds! Nugget will make a great addition to a family with children and another pet to play with!

We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Chase Quick Pay via Zelle, PayPal, or cash. Look at this face, he radiates happiness & joy just from his pictures. Tustin the happiest boy you will ever meet was in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. The shelter had been exposed to viruses & made Tustin & his friends even more urgent to save before it was to late. He was posted looking so very friendly & happy & yet was going to die for no reason at all except because of humans. It appears at the age of 1 year old he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable & disgusting. His life had just begun & was going to be over. We rescued this beautiful little lad & 4 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter who desperately needed help. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Without his outstanding foster mum this would not of happened. Tustin who is now looking for his very own forever home & who will never give up on him again & dump him & love him just as his foster family & we do. After we got Tustin all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home. You would never know with how happy Tustin is that he almost lost his life & that people had given up on this funny little guy. Thank goodness this boy is so forgiving for what humans have done to him. His foster mum said he is a very spirited happy little dog. He loves everyone in the home & adores playing with his foster siblings. Tustin has experienced going to doggy daycare to socialize him with other dogs with countless breeds & does well. Tustin needs a home where he can sleep in bed with his new forever home so they had better make room his foster mum said for this little man in the bed with you. The absolute insanity to think this baby doll ended up in one of the highest kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. This boy screams personality, he is always on the move. Such a happy soul. Tustin just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. He loves everyone he meets & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. That’s when he is standing still. Tustin likes to explore & check out everything in his foster home. He would be the type of boy who would like to experience many adventures. Tustin is a great eater & not shy about his food & treats. Tustin also enjoys wearing a good outfit. Tustin’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & running around playing with his friends. Tustin has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster home the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He loves men & woman & has put on weight instantly in his foster home. Tustin rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. When in the car if you on the outside & he is in the car, he is going to let you know he wants to be with you. We are looking for a forever home for Tustin where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog or dogs in the home for him to thrive. Tustin loves other dogs & needs another dog or dogs in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage at the shelter until we rescued him. Tustin is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Tustin has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. In his foster home he is with dogs. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with playful dogs. A fenced backyard is also mandatory. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory. Tustin is roughly just 1 year & 3 months old & 17 lbs & is perhaps a pug mix & what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, neutered by laser by our wonderful vets. He had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He is microchipped. He is heart worm negative, had a 4DX done to test for parasites & up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. Tustin/Rusty has been around cats since being in the rescue in his foster home & did well with the cat in the foster home but doesn’t mean he will do well with all cats. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Tustin was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Tustin’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Tustin potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Tustin has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Tustin & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Spot who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Tustin has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
