Story
Age: approx. 18 months Weight: 50 lbs    Say hello to Tony, a Boxer/Catahoula mix with a million-dollar smile, a goofy sense of humor, and enough charm to light up any room.   Tony was found stray and spent eight months at a city shelter before his foster rescued him. He's now resting comfortable waiting for his forever family where we've learned that he's fully potty trained and takes treats oh so gently.    Tony is a social butterfly who loves people and greets the world with enthusiasm and a constantly wagging tail. Playtime is his jam. Whether it’s toys, zoomies, or just showing off his silly personality, he knows how to make everyone around him laugh. He’s the kind of dog who turns ordinary days into adventures and quiet moments into cuddle sessions. If you have another dog, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure their play styles and personalities are a good match. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his rabies and core vaccinations, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275, and you can apply to meet him here:  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society     We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Ellie is a 7-year old brindle boxer, is spayed, crate trained, potty trained, and is micro-chipped. She loves to snuggle and has a very sweet and relaxed demeanor. Ellie can be a little shy and unsure at first, but warms up quickly.  She likes to gently paw her people on the leg while they're sitting down to get their attention for affection.  Ellie is also very good about staying off of furniture, couches, etc., except for the occasional misplaced paw for attention.   She's indifferent about water, does get distracted on a leash, and she'll usually follow a ball playing fetch but doesn't always bring it back. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. She takes inexpensive thyroid medication daily. Ellie is good with kids and will likely need to be an only pet.  Her adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to meet her here:  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. He’s a gentle giant—loyal, smart, loving, and full of heart. Red is crate and house trained, walks perfectly on leash, knows sit and shake with both paws, rides beautifully in the car, and has excellent house manners. He is fantastic with kids, other dogs, and cats, he loves snuggles, Netflix marathons, calm walks when the weather is nice, and relaxing indoors on a cozy bed. Red is a true companion who simply loves being near you. Red deserves a home where he will be cherished as a full indoor family member, treated with love, patience, and stability. He is ready to give his whole heart to the family lucky enough to adopt him. Story
Ruby Monday is a total love bug who was unfortunately dumped at a high-kill shelter when her previous family moved without her. She lives with many other dogs in her foster home and gets along well with everyone, except when someone gets into an altercation. She thinks she is supposed to end all spats, so we never leave her with the other dogs unattended. For this reason, she would do better in a home as an only furkid or with an experienced owner.Ruby loves humans of all sizes and ages. She is a cuddlebug who loves to go for car rides and walks. It is hard to believe she's a senior with her energy and happy, outgoing nature. It would be wonderful for any senior who wants a dog to spend retirement with them, and still give anyone who might want to cause trouble a reason to think twice because of her size and bark. She is fully vetted, current with her vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention. Ruby is available for permanent foster care if you live within a reasonable distance of our veterinary clinic. If you are hoping for a companion but are on a limited budget and feel you can not afford to take care of a dog, we would love to help you give Ruby a wonderful forever home.
