She came to the shelter as a stray, so her past is a mystery— but what we do know is that she is an affectionate, lively little dog who bonds deeply with her people and brings a lot of personality into a tiny package. Daily routine: Fizzy starts her mornings bright and early at 6:00 AM when she’s let out of her crate. At 6:30 AM, she heads out for a 20-minute walk, which she absolutely loves. Afterward, she often bursts into the cutest post-walk zoomies before settling in for the day. During the workday, Fizzy is happiest lounging close to her person— either curled up on a lap or perched on a desk chair. She is an all-day cuddler and content to relax nearby while you go about your day. Breakfast is served at 9:00 AM. Fizzy is a picky eater, so wet food is mixed into her kibble to encourage her to eat, which works well for her. She enjoys a midday potty break around noon, followed by more lounging, toy time, and play sessions with the resident dog. Dinner is at 5:00 PM, and her final potty break is around 7:30 PM. By 9:00 PM, Fizzy is ready for bed. She may whine briefly when going into her crate, but she settles quickly and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate in the bedroom. Personality: From the moment Fizzy arrived, she was eager for love and attention. She greets new people by immediately rolling onto her back for belly rubs and is generous with kisses—she truly loves everyone she meets. As she’s settled in, her personality has continued to shine. She’s a classic velcro dog who follows her person from room to room and always wants to be right next to you. She enjoys winding down on the couch in the evenings and has grown more playful over time, happily entertaining herself with toys and initiating play with the resident dog. Dog social skills: Fizzy lives with a 5 lb, 8-year-old Chihuahua named Kit. At first, they mostly ignored each other, and Fizzy needed a little time to learn personal space. Recently, though, the two have started playing together, which has been very sweet to watch. She has not shown aggression and seems interested in canine companionship. Energy level: Fizzy is energetic and enthusiastic, especially when it comes to walks, greetings, and playtime. She gets excited when her people come home, before walks, and often even after walks— with zoomies making a regular appearance. She enjoys playing tug-of-war, rolling around with her toys, and can easily handle longer walks of about 45 minutes. Despite her energy, she’s also perfectly happy spending much of the day lounging beside you while you work. On leash: Fizzy walks eagerly on leash and does pull a bit due to excitement and her love of sniffing everything - but at barely 6 lbs, she's easy to handle! She may bark at people or dogs she passes; she responds to correction and would benefit from continued leash training to help with her reactivity. Importantly, while she can be vocal on walks, she is extremely affectionate and friendly when meeting people in the home. House training and crate training: Fizzy had a few accidents when she first arrived, which is typical for a dog adjusting to a new environment. She’s now settled into a routine and reliably waits for her potty breaks. She is mostly crate-trained— she doesn’t choose to go in on her own, but once inside, she settles quickly after a short protest. She may bark if she hears noises in the apartment hallway, but otherwise relaxes well in her crate. What makes Fizzy special: Fizzy’s loyalty is truly remarkable. She keeps tabs on her person at all times and makes you feel like the center of her world. On walks, she refuses to move ahead if her person falls behind— she waits patiently until everyone is together. Despite knowing her foster for only a short time, she’s already formed a deep bond, showing just how devoted she can be. Favorite things: One of Fizzy’s most endearing traits is her surprising agility. When she wants attention or treats, she does an adorable little bunny hop that’s impossible not to smile at. She’s also an expert at squirming her way directly into your lap for pets, claiming her spot with confidence and charm. Fizzy is a tiny dog with a huge heart, ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick and constant companion.January 23, 2026, 2:33 pm
