JULY 2025: Luke is a sweet quiet boy who will join in if other pack members start being vocal! He is friendly, but responds fearfully if fast hands grab at him—so we are recommending a household with NO SMALL CHILDREN or anyone who has an aggressive controlling attitude. Luke likes to hang out outside in nice weather or when other pack members are playing with toys (he will join in!). Inside he likes to hang out in his bed under a bookcase or below the raised footrest of a recliner. At night Luke likes to climb doggie steps up to his human’s mattress and sleeps quietly through the night. LUKE is trained to use wee pads to do his business or a dog door to access an enclosed patio or safely fenced yard. He is not a digger so won’t destroy flower beds. He WILL dart out an open gate to take himself for a walk, so again, recommending a childless, totally dog-aware household. Rescued from the shelter, this sweet, spunky boy has been thriving in foster care and is ready to charm his forever family. Silly Putty starts his mornings with a calm crate snooze until 8 a.m., when he happily heads out for a walk. Back inside, he greets the resident cat with a hopeful play bow (sometimes she joins in, sometimes she issues a polite “no, thanks”). After breakfast, he’s off to conquer his day — rotating between zoomies/toy sessions, short naps, and more play. True to his Yorkie mix roots, Silly Putty is curious, clever, and social. He’s a total velcro dog who likes to be in the same room as his people and absolutely adores other dogs. In fact, he would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy. He also does well with dog-savvy cats who don’t mind the occasional game of chase. He’s met kids of all ages, soaking up the attention and happily being passed from one set of arms to another.
