Story

Kaia is a 2 year old Australian Blue Heeler with lots of energy. She is a really sweet dog, loves to run outside within the electric fence. She also enjoys walking - both on a leash and hiking off leash. She is well trained (and often wears a remote training collar) - understanding the "sit", "come", "heel", and "place" commands. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, and in good health. She rides well in cars. She loves to give dog kisses and loves to have her belly rubbed, but she is not a lapdog. She will take time to relax on her bed if she is occupied with a bone or other chewable. She is good with other dogs (except while eating - she is food aggressive and does not like other dogs coming up to her while eating). She is also great around other animals. We have chickens, rabbits, and cats and she has never been aggressive or hurt any of the animals. We are rehoming Kaia because she needs a more active lifestyle than we provide with all of her energy.

Meet Roxanne! This sweet cattle dog mix is such a cuddle bug! At just four months old, she is already keeping her indoor area clean and goes outside to potty. Roxanne does well with other dogs and cats and loves attention. At this time, she is not a fan of being crated but does well outside of her crate. Roxanne’s current foster says she is absolutely precious and she could just hold her all day long. This is Scout (Previously known as Rocky and Rocket). While we don't know his full story, we know that his original owner did him a huge injustice. He was not neutered and there were 2 other aggressive males in the home also not neutered. The owner was about to just release him on the streets to fend for himself until a good samaritan stepped in and offered to take him, suggests he wasn't loved. Scout is a young Blue Heeler Australian Cattle Dog, estimated to be between 2 and 3 years old. Typical of the breed he has boundless energy and needs a home that will not only provide him with the love and security he craves but also an active lifestyle that will provide him with the physical and mental stimulation he needs to be the best dog he can be. He also needs consistent training and an experienced owner to provide him with the confidence and skills he needs to cope with everyday life. He is very loving toward people but Not good around other animals and is currently dog reactive. He will need to be in a home as the only pet. No dogs. No cats, and no small children (due to his energy, he might knock them down). He also needs a yard with a high fence. He is crate trained but is always very excited to come out and it can be challenging getting him to calm down initially but once he has, he is generally very calm inside the home and loves nothing more then to curl up beside you with his head on your lap. Scout is currently in his 3rd foster home. His current foster is not able to provide the mental and physical activity he needs and is hoping for Scout's sake, his ideal person and home is out there. Scout deserves the opportunity to show his true self but without the training and right life style, the odds are against him. Meet Mooney! He is an incredibly smart, 48 lb, 5.5 year old cattle dog mix who was given up by his previous owner due to her illness. He loves people, playing with his doggie friends and being a goofball. The sofa is his favorite piece of furniture, but he will settle in a crate, on a cool wood floor, lounge in a water trough or snooze in the car. In spite of being nearly middle-aged, he still has lots of bounce and energy to run, jump and explore. He has been introduced to some agility work and caught on right away. Being food-motivated, training is a breeze. Mooney knows Sit, Wait, Down, Crate, Roll Over, Off, Gently and Come. He has the intelligence and focus of a cattle dog, the silliness of a boxer and the cuddly nature of a pittie. He seeks the affection and companionship of his people. Mooney will need a large fenced yard to keep his active brain engaged and humans with time to keep him exercised and entertained. He is a confident dude who would love to live with other playful, balanced dogs or be an only dog. He will do best in a home with savvy dog owners who are interested in providing him with structure, interesting things to do and learn, and appreciate his zest for life. He absolutely adores every dog he meets. Spotty is still a little reserved around people but has been making huge strides and seems to improve every day! He has gone through professional training to work on self- confidence and is able to go on walks now and trust more than he used to. Spotty is super submissive and needs a home with a very social dog that will hang out and play with him all day. He loves to play with dogs more than anything. Spotty is also house trained and crate trained. He requires a fenced yard as he can get spooked and we don’t want to take chances of him trying to flee. Spotty has endless potential if you give him the time and patience he needs and deserves to come out of his shell! -------- Spotty is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and 45 pounds. He was found as a stray in SC and was completely petrified at the shelter. He sat in a corner shaking and had to be carried just to move out of his kennel. He came to us very nervous and shy but with the help of his canine friends, he is slowly learning to trust and thriving in his foster home. He has also met and done training with our trainer where he is now comfortable going for walks on a leash and exploring the outdoors! Spotty gains comfort from other dogs, so he requires a home with a friendly resident dog to help show him the ropes. Spotty would do best in a home without young children as he is still gets timid around new people and retreats. With time and patience, he will show his new family how goofy and happy he really is.
