Sure, I have limited feeling and movement in my hind legs, but I love life just the same! I mean not only do I have a wonderful wheelchair that allows me to run around but I also get to do about 10-15 minutes of physical therapy, stretches, & exercises every single day to help ensure my muscles don’t atrophy. Some people may not like doing a PT regimen, but I don’t mind it at all because it’s more quality time with my people. I would love to find a family that would also bring me to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and even swimming!! Oh my gosh not only is playing fetch in the water is SOOOO much fun but I am an excellent swimmer! I do not like a lot of commotion and I’m a bit shy around new people especially if they get too close, but I love to be with MY people and I’m getting braver every day! I have a high prey drive so cats are probably not a good fit for me; I’m good with kids as long as they don't try and climb on me; and I do well with most other dogs although I can be a bit selective with small dogs. But mostly, I am easy going! I am a super smart boy who’s not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know a bunch of commands like “down”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “wait”, and a release word “ok”.  Also, I have learned how to go up and down stairs! I can climb 3-4 steps of any surface on my own, and a full flight of carpeted stairs on my own if supervised. Sometimes I need a little help to get started if the landing is slippery like vinyl or hardwood.  I am a happy, playful, and very loving boy who loves giving hugs, kisses, & snuggles, playing fetch in a huge yard, going to the dog park, playing with my toys, going for leashed walks, getting lots of belly rubs, and eating treats especially fruits & veggies! YUUUMMM!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also love to practice Barn Hunt…I may not be able to compete, but I sure do have a great time practicing! Hee, hee!! I am an incredibly beautiful 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed! A little about me – I am deaf, but don’t let that stop me and am a very smart girl! I have picked up the routine in the house very quick. I also have a medical issue called “fly biting” – the vet discovered it is likely related to my diet. With a low carb diet and daily Prilosec, it is manageable. It might also be a bit anxiety based and/or habitual so when we meet my foster family can tell you about my routine and triggers. They think I would do best in a calm home. When I came up to Minnesota it was discovered I was heartworm positive. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, I'm a healthy girl, but need year round heartworm pills.   I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but am a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in – or someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills. I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowing introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or bark at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! Welcome Pinky to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 14-month-old Australian Cattle Dog/Whippet. She weighs 30 pounds and is a medium sized dog. She is good on a leash and super friendly to strangers. She is outgoing and very affectionate. She is active as a young dog would be but not over the top. She is sturdy enough and tall enough to be a good walking or jogging companion. She is friendly enough already to go to Starbucks or some dog friendly place and meet strangers. She is a moderate shedding dog. She is potty trained and good in a crate. She likes car rides and is overall a very sweet dog. She gets along with other dogs of all types. She is vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She could be with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas at the Rescue. Cooper is an 8 year old cattle dog and retriever mix and a truly smart and kind dog (weighs 60-65 pounds). He absolutely loves people, and is a big homebody. He also loves playing any sort of fetch! Due to family allergies we are sadly looking for a new home of our beloved dog of 8 years. We are currently in Arizona through May, but are looking for a new home Cooper could join this Summer in Minnesota. Cooper would do well in a home that’s active, likes to do things outdoors, go on walks, etc! He gets along great with adults and kids, so any family dynamic will work!

Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I'm Kiwi, the pint-sized dynamo with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Let me give you the lowdown on the awesomeness that is me: Picture this – shades of brown and cream, one ear perpetually popped up, and eyes that tell stories – one blue and one brown. Yep, that's me, a young Mini Aussie turning heads wherever I go! Now, here's the thing – they say I'm a bit hard of hearing, but I've got my own language. I have a slight hearing loss due to being born with hydrocephalus.  We think I can hear deeper sounds, but not higher pitches. Silent hand claps for applause (and belly rubs, of course), gentle taps on the ribs for attention, and some cool hand signals like thumbs up for SIT and a wave for "come on down." I'm mastering the art of communication!  I am sometimes a bit unsteady on my feet and circle around when stimulated - that's some of my hydrocephalus showing.  But, there are no long term needs known at this time.  I might have some uniqueness, but it makes me special! Life's a classroom, and I'm here to soak it all in. I do require a fenced yard in my forever home AND need to be leashed in the yard until I understand when my people want me to come inside. My people said it is best for me to be double leashed as I am skittish and a flight risk. She says “Safety First”  before we go outside. Did I mention my love for food? It's basically everything, and I'm open to culinary adventures! Sometimes I get food aggressive, so if there is another dog around at mealtime, I would suggest that meals are served in a kennel. My people have a puzzle food toy that I LOVE, foster mom says it is a great way to help me slow down and focus at mealtimes. We are also working on kennel training. So far, I prefer a wire kennel over a plastic kennel. And foster mom has been letting me sleep in the bed. Although I tend to get into things so she keeps me on a leash, even during sleepy time! Again, safety first! Potty training is a work in progress, my people said I am a whirling dervish when nature calls – hee hee. I definitely have a “signal” if you are paying attention! Typical of my breed, I would thrive in a home that will give me a job and keep me busy. I know that obedience school or agility training would be a fantastic way to bond and learn new things. My people said that I am very smart and started counter surfing and exploring into things I shouldn’t, kinda like a toddler (hee hee) so they provide supervision and things for me to do. I may be a tiny tot, but I've got a big heart and a spirit ready for adventures. If you're up for teaching, loving, and navigating life together, let's make it happen! I'm here, ready to become the most awesome dog you've ever known. *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Throw a shrimp on the barbie, I’m looking for a furever home! This Aussie gal (me) might confuse ya with me lingo but I’ll try to explain.  It took me a few days to get my bearings here but now that I have, I’m displaying my calm and cuddly side.  I tend to be a bit fearful of new people and places so I will need a home with lots of patience! I’m fully enjoying the attention for foster mom and love to cuddle up on the sofa with her.  When I’m not there, squeaky toys, chew toys and rubber balls are the “bonza” (exceptionally good).  Even that took a few weeks but now, they are my favs. I haven’t been around children but loud noises, thunderstorms, men and lots of commotion tend to make me nervous.  With love and patience, I might be fine with these down the road.  All that being said, please provide me with a fenced yard! Blimey, those leashes will take some work for those walkabouts. I’m potty trained and crate trained when you’re home but I will whine and bark a little when you leave, until I calm down.
