You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB:  03/22/2017 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, sometimes selective with small dogs Okay with cats: No, has prey drive Okay with children under 12 years old: Has done fine with kids 4+ that are respectful  Weight: 49 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  No,  with limited mobility he needs a special helper harness for his back end. A yard would give him the freedom to roam.  Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Galleta, and I am an incredibly handsome and happy adult Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix. Sure, I have limited feeling and movement in my hind legs, but I love life just the same! I mean not only do I have a wonderful wheelchair that allows me to run around but I also get to do about 10-15 minutes of physical therapy, stretches, & exercises every single day to help ensure my muscles don’t atrophy. Some people may not like doing a PT regimen, but I don’t mind it at all because it’s more quality time with my people. I would love to find a family that would also bring me to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and even swimming!! Oh my gosh not only is playing fetch in the water is SOOOO much fun but I am an excellent swimmer! I do not like a lot of commotion and I’m a bit shy around new people especially if they get too close, but I love to be with MY people and I’m getting braver every day! I have a high prey drive so cats are probably not a good fit for me; I’m good with kids as long as they don't try and climb on me; and I do well with most other dogs although I can be a bit selective with small dogs. But mostly, I am easy going! I am a super smart boy who’s not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know a bunch of commands like “down”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “wait”, and a release word “ok”.  Also, I have learned how to go up and down stairs! I can climb 3-4 steps of any surface on my own, and a full flight of carpeted stairs on my own if supervised. Sometimes I need a little help to get started if the landing is slippery like vinyl or hardwood.  I am a happy, playful, and very loving boy who loves giving hugs, kisses, & snuggles, playing fetch in a huge yard, going to the dog park, playing with my toys, going for leashed walks, getting lots of belly rubs, and eating treats especially fruits & veggies! YUUUMMM!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also love to practice Barn Hunt…I may not be able to compete, but I sure do have a great time practicing! Hee, hee!! Anyway, I am an incredibly sweet bundle of love who is simply looking for patience and unconditional love from a committed fur-ever family that not only will NEVER give up on me but who will help me continue my physical therapy routine and keep me safe. I promise that I am totally worth it, and I will love you more than you could EVER imagine! Love & snuggles, Galleta. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB:  09/09/2018 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Best with dogs her size or larger Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 36 pounds Requires a fenced yard: No, but would love one to safely play Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Tacoma and I am a happy gal from Texas ready to find my forever home in Minnesota. I am an incredibly beautiful 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed! A little about me – I am deaf, but don’t let that stop me and am a very smart girl! I have picked up the routine in the house very quick. I also have a medical issue called “fly biting” – the vet discovered it is likely related to my diet. With a low carb diet and daily Prilosec, it is manageable. It might also be a bit anxiety based and/or habitual so when we meet my foster family can tell you about my routine and triggers. They think I would do best in a calm home. When I came up to Minnesota it was discovered I was heartworm positive. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, I'm a healthy girl, but need year round heartworm pills.   I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but am a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in – or someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills. I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowing introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or bark at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! I love to be part of the action and would love to find a forever home that will love me unconditionally and help me be the best girl I can be! I know you will love me with all your heart, because I already love you! I hope to meet you soon! Story
Welcome Pinky to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 14-month-old Australian Cattle Dog/Whippet. She weighs 30 pounds and is a medium sized dog. She is good on a leash and super friendly to strangers. She is outgoing and very affectionate. She is active as a young dog would be but not over the top. She is sturdy enough and tall enough to be a good walking or jogging companion. She is friendly enough already to go to Starbucks or some dog friendly place and meet strangers. She is a moderate shedding dog. She is potty trained and good in a crate. She likes car rides and is overall a very sweet dog. She gets along with other dogs of all types. She is vaccinated, healthy and ready for her forever home. She could be with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas at the Rescue. She could be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. I am a very beautiful, smart, funny, and all-around loving adult female Cattle Dog who loves to be with my people! My favorite activities include chewing on bones or treats, snoozing, going on leashed walks, exploring my surroundings, rolling around, going on car rides, and snuggling! I do not like loud noises, and I have not met any cats, but I am good with kids and other dogs. In fact, I get super excited when I see other dogs and would enjoy having a companion at my new home along with a fenced yard where we can safely play! I am working hard at, and with a consistent schedule, will hopefully soon master, potty training, but I already know commands like “come” and “kennel/crate” and will even go into my kennel with no issues. That said, I would, of course, rather be with my family!! Anyway, I really am the sweetest girl ever and I am simply looking for a patient furever family who will not only promise to NEVER give up on me but who will always keep me safe and love me unconditionally. If you are looking for an amazing companion who is truly a constant source of light and smiles, then you have just met your soul mate! I promise I will love you more than you could EVER imagine! Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac is a ham, you can't see it in his pictures but he LOVES attention :) He is good with other dogs and happy to be a friend or he could be an only dog and BASK in the undivided attention :) He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Hello, my name is Benji! I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really! I know everything from how to do my business outside to a deluge of commands like “sit”, “down”, “come”, “kennel/crate”, “wait”, “leave it”, “outside”, and “go potty”!! Thankfully, I enjoy learning, especially when I have a strong, confident, respectful leader, and I really love pleasing my people!! Anyway, foster mom says that I am the “most affectionate” dog she’s ever met and as hard as I try, I simply cannot disagree with her! Hee, hee!! All I need in my life now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving forever family who will not only NEVER give up on me but will commit to helping me overcome my fears!! I promise that not only am I totally worth it, but I will enrich your life in ways you could never imagine!!! Love, Benji Some of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. Others have come from various situations where they are lacking confidence in humans. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.   This dog has received grooming with us at Underdog Rescue, but was likely neglected of grooming attention until he came into our care.  It can sometimes take months to get their coat healthy as Doodle mixes require daily brushing.  Grooming appointments occur every 3 months and cost on average of $150 per appointment.  Adopters should be prepared for such expenses.  Underdog Rescue cannot guarantee the non-shedding or hypoallergenic qualities of this dog.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, wonderful humans! I'm Kiwi, the pint-sized dynamo with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Let me give you the lowdown on the awesomeness that is me: Picture this – shades of brown and cream, one ear perpetually popped up, and eyes that tell stories – one blue and one brown. Yep, that's me, a young Mini Aussie turning heads wherever I go! Now, here's the thing – they say I'm a bit hard of hearing, but I've got my own language. I have a slight hearing loss due to being born with hydrocephalus.  We think I can hear deeper sounds, but not higher pitches. Silent hand claps for applause (and belly rubs, of course), gentle taps on the ribs for attention, and some cool hand signals like thumbs up for SIT and a wave for "come on down." I'm mastering the art of communication!  I am sometimes a bit unsteady on my feet and circle around when stimulated - that's some of my hydrocephalus showing.  But, there are no long term needs known at this time.  I might have some uniqueness, but it makes me special! Life's a classroom, and I'm here to soak it all in. I do require a fenced yard in my forever home AND need to be leashed in the yard until I understand when my people want me to come inside. My people said when we go on walks, it is best for me to be double leashed as I am skittish and a flight risk. She says “Safety First” before we go outside. When I meet new people, I am a little nervous and need some time to warm up. There are so many new things to see and sniff, I get a little overwhelmed. I am always excited to go home play with my toys. I have Crocky, Bunny, Mousey, Ropey and Bully – I like toys that are tuff so I can chew and chase with them. We recently started playing frisbee – I understand the chase part and we are working on the return part – hee hee! Hopefully my forever family will keep practicing with me. My people said that I am growing and learning so much – they are calling them “light bulb moments” because you can actually see it when I am excited and understand something new. They said I would be a good candidate to try out agility, fly ball or rat hunting because I am a high energy dog with an active mind. Did I mention my love for food? It's basically everything, and I'm open to culinary adventures! Except chicken, that sometime gives me tummy rumbles – ick. Also, sometimes I get crabby if there is another dog around at mealtime, I would suggest that meals are served in a kennel. My people have a puzzle food toy that I LOVE, foster mom says it is a great way to help me slow down and focus at mealtimes. We are also working on kennel training. So far, I prefer a wire kennel over a plastic kennel. And foster mom has been letting me sleep in the bed. Although I tend to get into things so she keeps me on a leash, even during sleepy time! Again, safety first! Potty training is a work in progress, my people said I am a whirling dervish when nature calls – hee hee. I definitely have a “signal” if you are paying attention! Typical of my breed, I would thrive in a home that will keep my mind and body active, give me a job and keep me busy. I think obedience school or agility training would be a fantastic way to bond and learn new things. My people said that I am very smart and started counter surfing and exploring into things I shouldn’t, kinda like a toddler (hee hee) so they provide supervision and things for me to do. I may be a tiny tot, but I've got a big heart and a spirit ready for adventures. If you're up for teaching, loving, and navigating life together, let's make it happen! I'm here, ready to become the most awesome dog you've ever known.  *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters.  Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter.  Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized.  If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, I’m a gorgeous and very sweet adult female miniature Aussie named Ashley. Sure, I may not play with toys much, but I enjoy an occasional treat and exploring the yard. But ya know what I REALLY love…pleasing and cuddling with my people and playing with other active dogs!! I’m a bit timid and shy to warm up to you but once I do, I’m a complete sweetie.  I’m independent and when I want to be petted, I’ll seek you out and let you hold me like a baby and cuddle me up.  I don’t like a lot of commotion, but I am getting better each day. Anyway, I’m also good with other dogs if they’re not too big or assertive. I would really love another dog in my forever home because one of my favorite things to do is chase around the fenced yard and do some zoomies. I really do get all my confidence from another dog so this will help me along the way. Because I am a high energy dog, little kids might not be the best fit for me as I would be sad if I accidently knocked them over. Foster mom says I am very athletic and she is hoping my forever family works with me on agility or sports. Bring it on! When I’m not running around, I love treat puzzles and a good snuffle mat or a bone.  I haven’t quite understood what toys are for.  Heck, I’ve got so much to do already! When the other dogs are playing fetch, I’m off to chase them, not the ball.  When I catch and give a cute little bark/growl (not aggressive) to tell them how slow they are.  Potty training is going well on a schedule; I am leash & crate trained though I admit I may bark a bit in the kennel (hee, hee); I do fine in the car; and I know commands like “come”, “kennel/crate”, and “leave it” so you can clearly see I’m quite smart! I am the sweetest girl ever and foster mom is going to miss me SO much, but she knows my lifelong dream is to find a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I’m an amazing little love bug with an enormous heart who will love you more than life if you will simply welcome me into your world! Love, Ashley *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
