He is partially blind in his left eye and requires a little of patience when exploring new areas and people, but once he has a minute to smell his surroundings he is great.

Meet Rex — the tri-tri (tricolored tripod) Mini Aussie who stole everyone’s hearts and doesn’t even realize he’s missing a leg. 🐾 Rex came into rescue after being hit by a car. His family went to incredible lengths trying to get him help — relying on public transportation in Dallas to make their way to the Dallas Animal Shelter, hoping someone could help their injured puppy. Instead, they were handed nothing but a QR code and sent on their way. Thankfully, someone was listening. Dallas Cat Lady overheard their story and couldn’t just walk away. She stepped in to help Rex get the care he desperately needed. In the end, his family made the heartbreaking but selfless decision to surrender him, knowing it was the best chance for Rex to have the life he deserved. And let us tell you — Rex is basically perfect. Despite everything he’s been through, Rex is an absolute dream dog. He potties outside with zero accidents, doesn’t get into things, and can be trusted free-roaming all day and night. Most of his time is spent happily playing with his toys or snoozing in his favorite recliner. For an 8-month-old puppy, he’s incredibly chill — comfortable both on his own and soaking up love from his people. He adores kids (especially the 6-year-old who has officially claimed him as her favorite… though honestly, it’s hard not to feel the same way). Being a tripod doesn’t slow Rex down one bit. Mr. Beans is 10 pounds of pure puppy joy and enthusiasm. Think little bouncing BEAN! He walks well on leash, is crate trained, and is almost fully house trained. He knows his name, comes when called, and is eager to learn — especially if food, toys, or treats are involved (and honestly… all of the above). Beans loves being out and about with his people. He’s happiest playing in the yard, romping with his foster siblings, and proudly bringing leaves and sticks inside like prized possessions. When playtime is over, he’s a total snuggle bug — though fair warning, if he’s in full play mode, he may also jump on your head while wrestling with the other dogs. He’s a true social butterfly who will happily sit with just about anyone and hasn’t met a dog he didn’t want to be friends with. Beans has met both babies and preschool-aged kids and did great, as gentle as a puppy can be. He’s goofy, playful, quirky, affectionate, and confident — a wonderfully balanced little guy. Beans does have a tiny squeak of a bark that comes out when he’s nervous, but overall he’s a confident, enthusiastic pup who takes new things in stride. Meet Penny — Mini Aussie mix who’s equal parts sunshine, sass, and snuggles. At around 21 lbs, she’s the perfect fun-sized adventure buddy. Penny came to us a bit underweight after her time in the shelter, but with good food, love, and structure, she’s filled out beautifully and is so ready for her forever family. From her foster: Penny walked into our home and immediately won everyone over. She’s crazy smart, picks up new cues quickly. Meals? A full-body experience. She treats every bite like it’s a gourmet event and does the cutest little “this is delicious!” wiggle. She adores her foster brothers — Hardy, the calm mentor, and Jordy, the high-energy Border Collie who matches her zoomies stride for stride. They wrestle, fetch, chase, and entertain each other until they flop into a cuddle pile. After playtime, Penny becomes a world-class snuggler, happily curling up with her foster mom while she works from home. Crating: Zero issues. She sleeps calmly through the night in her crate, no fuss. Mornings: Expect a three-dog, two-human cuddle fest before coffee. Kids: She met kids during Halloween and thought they were awesome. Cats: Hasn’t met any yet, but she’s curious and open to learning. Her foster dad jokes he’d adopt her in a heartbeat — but he knows this special girl has a family waiting just for her.
