Story
🌟 Meet Mini — your new emotional support couch potato 🌟 Fully vetted • Athens Shelter alum • Leash / Crate / Potty Pro • Dog-friendly • Certified Goofball Mini starts off shy-shy, like “I’m gonna observe from the hallway” shy… but give her a minute and boom — she’s melting into your lap like a warm cinnamon roll. Her love languages? Belly rubs, proximity, and being dramatically adorable on the couch. She’s the type of girl who will politely ask you to sit down so she can snuggle, then act like it was your idea. She’ll happily vibe with a toy or bone, but she also loves a little playful chaos with her dog friends. Would do best in a home with another dog companion, to help her confidence grow.  If you want a sweet, goofy, curious little shadow who’s equal parts chill + cuddly, Mini is your girl. 💖

Story
👋 Meet Ned Flanders!
📍 Red & White | 10 Months Well hi-diddly-ho, future neighborinos! Ned Flanders is a super sweet 10-month-old standard Aussie with a stunning red-and-white coat and the bluest baby blues you’ve ever been hypnotized by—and trust us, he knows how to use them. This boy is all about playtime and togetherness. Ned loves romping with other dogs, going on walks, visiting the dog park, or playing his own little games with his toy collection. He’s equally happy being your snuggle buddy once the zoomies settle. Ned would thrive best with another dog who matches his age and playful energy—he can be a bit much for older, calmer pups. He’s great with kids, too, though older children are best since he’s still learning the difference between your toysand my toys. He’s working through mild separation anxiety, so a home where someone works from home or is around often would be ideal. He’s learning crate skills and absolutely explodes with joy when his people return—full-body wiggles included. What Ned needs most is structure, routine, gentle guidance, and a family who will channel all his sweetness and silliness into becoming the best version of himself. In return? You get a loyal, loving, slightly goofy shadow who brings sunshine everywhere he goes. ✨ Playful & affectionate
✨ Dog-friendly; best with similar energy
✨ Great with older kids
✨ Thrives with structure & routine
✨ Certified full-body wiggle machine
✨ Up to date on vaccines + neutered If you’ve been looking for a blue-eyed charmer with a heart as warm as a Springfield sunrise, Ned Flanders is ready to say hi-diddly-ho right into your home—and your heart. 💛

Story
Meet Annie, the sweetest burst of energy you’ll ever bring home. She’s a younger dog who still has "puppy energy," and she loves nothing more than being close to her people and soaking up attention. Annie wrestles and plays beautifully with my dog who's almost six year old Shepard mix, and the two of them are absolutely adorable together. She does have a big play style, so she’s best suited for families with kids seven and up or for adults who appreciate a lively companion. Annie thrives with activity. If you enjoy walks, backyard ball-throwing sessions, or simply having a happy sidekick trotting behind you, she’ll fit right in. When the day winds down, she’s a champion cuddler who loves sleeping on her person’s bed. She’s a little velcro in the sweetest way, always nearby but not overwhelming. Her current family needed to rehome her simply because their older, twelve-year-old dog isn’t up for sharing space anymore and they've gotten into a few scuffles here and there. (She has not done this with her foster sibling.) Annie, has so much love and joy to give, and she’ll flourish in a home that matches her energy and enthusiasm. Potty, crate, and doggie-door trained. Not cat tested. If you’re looking for a devoted, playful dog who brings fun and affection in equal measure, Annie might be your perfect match.

Story
⭐️ Meet Kringle — Your New Adventure Buddy Mini Aussie • ~4 years • 30 lbs • Fully Vetted • Leash Pro • Potty & House Trained Good with Kids • Good with Dogs • Affectionate • Athletic • Playful • Snuggly Kringle is the full package: gorgeous, energetic, and secretly a huge softie. When he first arrived, he thought his foster home was a dog-only commune — it took him a whole day to realize there were humans in the house too. Once he discovered them? GAME OVER. Snuggles unlocked. Cuddle mode activated. 💙 This boy loves: ✨ Long walks ✨ Playing outside with his 2-year-old foster sister ✨ Being part of the pack ✨ Checking on everyone like the neighborhood hall monitor And yes… he did arrive as a bit of a Hump-a-saurus Rex with the girl dogs, but after a couple days (and being newly neutered), he’s chilled out and is focusing on being a gentleman. More Kringle vibes: 🌀 High-energy but settles beautifully after playtime 🌀 Walks AMAZING on leash — checks on his pack constantly 🌀 Greets dogs on walks better than most of our own dogs (humbling tbh) 🌀 Doesn’t care about squirrels → might be cool with cats 🌀 Brave boy — not bothered by men, vacuums, leaf blowers, nothing 🌀 Rides in the car like a perfect angel 🌀 Only one accident (a little “hey, new place!” mark) 🌀 Learned the dog door immediately Training has been a slow burn only because Kringle had zero idea what treats were. Now that he’s discovered snacks?? We’re seeing those little gears turn. Basic commands are coming along nicely. 🧠✨ Crate vibes: 🌙 Nighttime: runs straight in, sleeps silently 🌞 Daytime: “UM EXCUSE ME I NEED MY PACK???” — so we’re working on that Toys? He’s still trying to figure out what the heck those are. He’ll pick them up, drop them, and watch the other dogs chew like he’s observing a new species. Kringle is high-energy, good-natured, affectionate, and just an overall lovable dude. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion who’s down for adventures and couch snuggles, Kringle is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt: ntxaussierescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Penny — the 8–9 month old Mini Aussie mix who’s equal parts sunshine, sass, and snuggles. At around 21 lbs, she’s the perfect fun-sized adventure buddy. Penny came to us a bit underweight after her time in the shelter, but with good food, love, and structure, she’s filled out beautifully and is so ready for her forever family. From her foster: Penny walked into our home and immediately won everyone over. She’s crazy smart, picks up new cues quickly, and is already walking politely on a leash. Meals? A full-body experience. She treats every bite like it’s a gourmet event and does the cutest little “this is delicious!” wiggle. She adores her foster brothers — Hardy, the calm mentor, and Jordy, the high-energy Border Collie who matches her zoomies stride for stride. They wrestle, fetch, chase, and entertain each other until they flop into a cuddle pile. After playtime, Penny becomes a world-class snuggler, happily curling up with her foster mom while she works from home. Crating: Zero issues. She sleeps calmly through the night in her crate, no fuss. Mornings: Expect a three-dog, two-human cuddle fest before coffee. Kids: She met kids during Halloween and thought they were awesome. Cats: Hasn’t met any yet, but she’s curious and open to learning. Her foster dad jokes he’d adopt her in a heartbeat — but he knows this special girl has a family waiting just for her. Penny is affectionate, bright, eager to learn, and full of joyful energy. If you’re looking for a young dog who brings laughs, loyalty, and the perfect amount of Aussie sparkle… Penny might just be your girl. Apply at ntxaussierescue.org/adopt
