Story
We are cuckoo for Coconut! Look at this gorgeous, double-merle guy looking for his forever home. Coconut is a 10-week-old, Aussie and he’s the product of a merle-to-merle breeding. This has resulted in him being hard of hearing. He DOES have vision, which is a bonus for dogs like him! Coconut LOVES dog friends and ideally will have a dog or two in his forever home. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is mastering the art of house training while in his foster home. Often times, when deaf dogs are with hearing dogs in a home, you can’t even tell that they’re deaf except for how soundly they sleep. Coconut is one of those dogs. He’s happy, friendly, and loves attention from his humans. Don’t delay! Coconut is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/coconut/. Story
Allow us to introduce you to the canine Paul Newman. He’s ever so aptly named. Paul is a 4.5-5 month-old Australian Shepherd mix. He has STUNNING blue eyes that look right into your soul. Paul spent the last couple months of his life in a very small, underfunded, shelter in Texas with his littermates. Since springing the clink, Paul has been settling into his foster home. He very much enjoys the company of other dogs and derives much confidence from them. We feel he will be most successful in a multi-dog home. Paul is very, very sweet and once he gets to know you, he enjoys all the snuggles. He is quite playful with a dash of a mischievous streak and has proven to be quite smart as he learned the doggie door in just a few days. Paul Newman is being fostered in Black Hawk, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/paul-newman/. Story
Grizz is a happy, 2-year-old, Aussie mix. He’s the perfect, go-anywhere size, which is fitting because he loves the outdoors and adventures. Grizz is super dog friendly, rides well in the car, and loves to chase rabbits and squirrels. He will enjoy a home with a 5-6 ft fence and plenty of room (and toys) to run around in. Grizz is smart as a whip and thrives with tasks and gentle instruction. He’s clicker and treat motivated. Grizz’s foster mom has taught him some wonderful manners like waiting until he’s told to eat and waiting to go through an open door until told to do so. He’s a smarty pants! Grizz will make a wonderful addition to many home types! Grizz is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/grizz/. Story
Hominy is a happy, playful, energetic girl who loves her to be with her human. She loves attention and  to go on walks and run and jump. She is very smart and a fast learner. She is crate trained. She needs the security of her crate to feel calm at night.  She does not dig or try to escape a fenced yard. Once she is attached to someone she wants to be with them as much as possible. And loves to go on car rides.  She would do best with a couple or person without kids. She can get protective of her person. She likes to be the baby of the family and gets anxious if she has to share the  attention. She can sometimes startle easily and react if she is surprised especially by children.  ##2303953##

Story
Peggy a very sweet girl, who loves nothing more than to play and be with you once she settles in! She is a bit shy at first but warms up fast and is full of cuddles, play and love once she gets to know you!!! She does great with other dogs in her foster home, is non reactive around cats, and is doing great with crate training. Since she is just a youngster still, she will need a family with lots of patience and willingness to work with puppy training to help him gain some confidence and skills needed to become the best canine citizen she can be!

Story
Junie, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 35 lbs. Junie is a very loving and loyal dog. She is the boss and loves keeping Cooper in line. She likes to go on walks and explore with him. She gets along with other dogs great, but she will growl when she has had her fill. She will not nip or bite. She is a bit more relaxed and laid back than Cooper, but still loves to play around with him. She also is a bit of an attention hog. She will stare through your soul until you acknowledge her. She is very in tune with human emotion and will snuggle with you when you are sad. She’s a very sweet soul. She also may be more human than dog. Cooper, Blue Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Cooper tends to be shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He has a lot of energy and loves playing with Junie going on walks and exploring with her. He LOVES attention. He is a very loving and loyal dog with the silliest personality. I think he may be more human than dog. He gets along with other dogs but does take a minute to acclimate to them. He loves to give kisses (I think he was a lizard in his past life…hahaha). They are a bonded pair. They have grown up together and I would hate to separate them. They are soulmates and I would love for them to stay together. I understand that this is a lot to ask, but they are so worth it! We are having to re-home them due to a move across the country. This means we will be living out of a small camper and traveling all over the southeast. I don’t feel that this is a fair life for my pups to live. They love to run and play and wouldn't get this freedom if they come with us.
