Story
Piper is energetic full size (she’s about 50lbs) Australian Shepard who I’ve had since she was a puppy. It breaks my heart to rehome her, but I’ve had a change in my personal life and have to travel quite a bit now. It’s been very difficult make sure she’s has someone to care for her while I’m gone. She’s shy and nervous around people she doesn’t know, but she loves “her people.” As she, gotten older she’s become less tolerant of other dogs, but would be okay with another mellow dog. She’s also a natural herder, so probably won’t be a good fit for families with young kids running around. Loves hiking, fetch and frisbee.

Story
Hi, I’m Charlie. My foster family tells me I am very smart and have lots of energy and personality. I am very quiet, but I let them know when I need to go out. In the short time I have been with them, I have learned to play fetch with my favorite frisbee and tennis balls. I am very inquisitive and always looking for the next thing to grab my attention. I am working on knowing which toys I can play with and would appreciate your patience while I learn. I love to be near my humans and would do best in a household where one works from home and is able to spend time with me, take me for walks and play with me. I am potty-trained, I can walk on a leash, and I’m always ready to greet both humans and fellow dogs on my walks twice a day. I am well-behaved in cars going to my next adventure. While I can tolerate grooming/brushing, I can be impatient to look for something fun to do. I am a free range eater but I had a feeding schedule in my previous home. I am crate trained for sleeping and when my humans leave the house. I am looking for the right family to match my high energy and friendly nature. If you want to meet me, please fill out an application.  If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $350 and I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations  ##2444608##

Story
Coming 7/9 Guessing Aussie/Husky Mix Meet Jessie! This 3.7-year-old, 48-lb Herding/husky mix? is a gentle, calm, and loving girl with a fluffy orange coat and a heart full of quiet hope. Jessie’s past hasn’t been easy, she and the other dogs she lived with were beaten and left outside in the elements by her previous owner’s father, forced to fend for themselves without kindness or comfort. But despite it all, Jessie still seeks out human affection and continues to believe in the goodness of people. She’s a sweet, trusting, and affectionate girl who is ready to leave her past behind and step into the loving life she’s always deserved. Jessie is low energy, obedient, house trained, and absolutely loves people and kids. She’s good with other dogs and finds joy in the simple things, cuddling in the sunshine, a soft place to rest, and the safety of a gentle touch. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much; just a cozy home, consistent love, and someone to show her that she’s finally safe. After everything, she’s still a good girl with so much love to give. Will you be the one to show this beautiful soul what a good life looks like? Peggy a very sweet girl, who loves nothing more than to play and be with you once she settles in! She is a bit shy at first but warms up fast and is full of cuddles, play and love once she gets to know you!!! She does great with other dogs in her foster home, is non reactive around cats, and is doing great with crate training. Since she is just a youngster still, she will need a family with lots of patience and willingness to work with puppy training to help him gain some confidence and skills needed to become the best canine citizen she can be!

Story
Rowan will be 5 years old on August 1st. He is smart, loyal, and full of energy. True to his breed, Rowan thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation and listens well with structure and attention. He’s affectionate and bonds deeply with his person. While he enjoys playing with other dogs at daycare, he prefers to have his home and human to himself. We believe he’ll do best as the only dog, where he can soak up all the love and form a strong one-on-one bond. He loves being outside - swimming, hiking, kayaking, camping, playing fetch, or running. He’d be thrilled with an owner who includes him in daily walks, hikes, or bike rides (with some training). Rowan isn’t just active - he needs regular activity to stay happy and well-behaved. That’s why we’re looking for a new home that better matches his lifestyle. He’ll thrive in a home with a yard or open space and someone who understands herding breeds. If you want a devoted adventure buddy, Rowan may be your perfect match.

She is gentle and precious, only 26 pounds, so will be small, and loves getting attention. She is crate trained and house trained, enjoys other dogs, and loves being outside. She is ready for her forever best friend. She is the happiest of happy and loves water, tummy rubs, and showing off how smart she can be.
