Story
Meet Pharro 🐾 Pharro is a double merle Australian Shepherd who is fully deaf, but he does not require any special medical care or accommodations beyond patience, consistency, and an active lifestyle. He is around 11 months old, highly energetic, intelligent, playful, and full of personality. A couple originally posted him in the Ring Community because they were no longer able to care for him. They gave him to me completely free, including his crate, and I have had him for the past four months. Pharro is best suited for someone with land, a large fenced yard, or an active lifestyle. He loves being outdoors and does not do well being confined for long periods of time. I currently work full-time, and unfortunately I cannot give him the time, stimulation, and space he truly needs. He is still young and does have puppy behaviors. He is a heavy chewer if left unattended and will chew items left within reach. He also barks while in the crate, especially when bored or needing more activity.

Story
Loyal and loving companionMeet Piper – Sweet, Smart & Ready for Her Forever Home Piper is a loving, 5-year-old mixed-breed girl weighing 50 pounds, and she's looking for her forever family. Rescued after being abandoned at a dog park in poor condition, Piper has come a long way—blossoming into a loyal, affectionate, and incredibly smart companion. Piper has completed basic obedience training and we are now working on leash training. She knows all the essentials: sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and she has excellent recall. She's also fully potty trained and patiently sits while you place her food bowl down waits for a release command before eating—what a good girl! While Piper can be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly to new people in a home setting. Piper is a mix bread girl but with a personality of an Australian Shepherd or Cattle Dog smart, loyal, and full of heart. Piper would do best in a home without cats, she has done well with older kids. If you're looking for a devoted adventure buddy and a snuggle partner who will reward your patience with endless affection, Piper is your girl.  Check out Piper's videos: https://youtu.be/bcT5b2m90ek https://youtu.be/GwoQpSCIRSI For more videos and photos for Piper check out her social media on TikTok, YouTube and instagram @PawsNthegarden Age: 5 years old     Weight: 50 lbs   Temperament: Good with dogs and kids.   Training: Crate-trained, house trained, knows commands Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccines, HW negative For questions about Piper, please email: morgan7728@gmail.com  â€‹ To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.   July 18, 2026, 7:12 pm

Story
Kodiak is a great, very loving, 1 on 1 dog. He’s protective and always on alert. When he’s with a single person or multiple people, and no other dogs or toddlers he’s incredibly well behaved and obedient. He’s a protector and loves to cuddle. He has been through specialized training, is very responsive to commands (sit, place, down, shake), and is food motivated. He doesn’t like other dogs or toddlers coming into his space but has lived with both before and will tolerate them.He needs a yard or farm to run around in and someone to throw a ball for him. He’s great at fetch!

Story
Buddy has been with us for 2 1/2 years. He has been around children for all of this time and we have had no issues but he recently bit a child. We have two foster children so we can no longer keep him. I suggest he not be adopted in a home with children.

Story
Buddy was on social media and I went to meet his owners. He had been tied to a tree in Piedmond Park and this couple rescued him. After trying to find his owners with no luck, they kept him. they had him for about 6 months, then her mother got sick and had to move in with them. The mom had a big dog and they had a big dog so 3 dogs in their home was too much. They interviewed 5 families and they picked us to be his home. He has been so good with our 2 foster kids but he did show aggression to a 4 year old neighbor buy a month ago (totally unprevoked). Then our grandgaughter came to visit and she loves animals so I told her she could play with him. She opened the door to our office to let him out and he bite her on the leg. I was there so I know she didn't do anything but open the door so he could join us. He doesn't really know her because they don't live nearby but I didn't expect that he would go after her. DFCS will not allow us to keep him and I understand that.
