Story
intelligent, working dog Meet almost 1 y/o, 45 lb Milo! He’s an energetic, confident pup with a heart of gold! He's a natural-born leader and loves to be on the go. Milo's always eager to learn and work, which makes him a perfect fit for farm, working, or active households. He's not one to mess around - Milo's all about pleasing his human and knowing what's expected of him. He's also a social butterfly, having lived with small and large dogs and even feline friends (although he can get a bit frisky sometimes). While he's sure to be a hit with school-aged kids, his boundless energy might be a bit much for little ones. Whatever adventure comes his way, Milo is ready to take on the world with a wagging tail and a smile! See Milo's Videos: http://bit.ly/milovideos Age: Just under 1 year Weight: 45-50 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, and heartworm negative    Temperament: Cautious meeting new people, good with dogs and older kids.  Training: House/crate trained, knows basic commands Contact email: heather@joyspromise.org  To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Man&#197&#141 is a little pistol of a pup.  He was surrendered to a Good Samaritan who already has too many surrendered dogs. She would love for him to find a home that has time to work on puppy training and socialization. Man&#197&#141 is located in Tignall GA where there is no formal animal control facility and very little help for homeless pets. Please be willing to meet in the Athens or Madison, GA area -- which is about halfway between here and their foster (who cares for many and can't be too far from home base). Age: 5 months (as of 9/1/23) Weight: 15 lbs (as of 9/1/23) Training:  crate-trained.   Vetting: Neuter will be part of adoption agreement, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm testing at 6 months.  Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Introducing Oakley! Age: 6 years old Breed: Australian Shepherd mix Arrival Date: 3/1/2024 Meet Oakley, a very friendly and energetic 6-year-old Australian Shepherd mix! Oakley's vibrant personality and love for attention will certainly enliven your home.  Behavior with Cats, Other Dogs, and Children Oakley gets along well with other dogs. However, her high prey drive and minor herding behaviors mean she wouldn't suit a home with cats, small animals, or young children. Given her lively nature, she'd be happiest in a home with older children or adults.  Personality Oakley is a friendly and energetic dog who loves attention. Her zest for life is infectious and she's always ready for playtime. A family that can keep up with her active lifestyle and give her plenty of attention would be a great match.  Skills/Training The status of Oakley's potty and crate training is currently unknown, indicating potential adopters will need to be patient and consistent while she learns new routines. Her energetic nature suggests she'll enjoy training activities, especially those that offer physical and mental stimulation.  Medical Oakley is set to be spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before adoption. This ensures she's ready for a healthy start in her new home. Regular vet check-ups will be crucial to maintain her continued health and well-being.  Likes/Dislikes Oakley loves playing chase, running, and toys, making her a perfect playmate for active families. She doesn't enjoy being cooped up for long periods and has a particular dislike for chickens, which seem to be her personal nemesis. If you're seeking a friendly and energetic furry friend who loves to play and run, Oakley could be your perfect match. Fill out an application to meet Oakley; this vivacious dog might just be the lively and loving addition your active family has been waiting for! ##1983934##
