Cobalt is a one-year-old, 32-pound Hound/Aussie mix picked up as a stray at a local shelter. He was lucky enough to find a foster and has done well at their house. At first, he was a little shy, but her dogs quickly pulled him out of his shell. He is crate trained, housetrained, and ready for his new forever home. If you would like to foster to adopt Cobalt, please go to www.atlantalabrescue.com to fill out an application. FROM THE FOSTER:  Cobalt is learning not to jump, but the off command still needs work. He walks well on the leash, and he wants to please. Cobalt responds to his name, ALWAYS! He does okay at the dog park as long as there are not too many dogs. If there are too many dogs, he does not feel comfortable and usually sticks to chewing his toys. We don't crate him, but sometimes he goes into the crate and plays by himself. He sleeps in through the night in his bed in our bedroom. He is unsure in strange situations and will hesitate and observe. Then after encouragement and repetition, he will try new things. ##1340101##

Echo is young Australian Shepherd mix, male, neutered, HW negative and UTD on all shots and Interceptor Plus. He loves toys and people and other animals. He plays extremely well with his Luna (a 100 lbs+ Labrador), and is very careful of Popcorn our old Pocket Pittie. Echo knows many basic instructions, and he is an extremely intelligent and willing student. Echo is medium size and has a working coat which is very easy to maintain. Echo is an active dog, but has his down time period as well. Loves to snuggle. Potential adopter must have prior Australian Shepherd experience, vet references, fenced yard. We adopted Riley in 2012 when she was roughly two years old, she will be 13 this year. Riley is extremely loving, playful, and does not act like an older dog 95% of the time. The other 5% you can find her laying on a cool spot in the house, napping. Riley enjoys hikes, camping, and just being with her people in general. Riley is good with older children who respect her space, unfortunately our young toddler is entirely too interested in hugging and pulling on Riley. We have had to keep both Riley and Asher separated from where our child is in the house and their quality of life has greatly suffered from this. Riley is great with strangers, men, women, and submissive dogs who respect that she is the boss. We are looking for the right person to take both Riley and Asher and provide the home they need and love. Someone who is active, has plenty of time to spend with them, and without toddlers who don't answer to reason.

She is great with older kids (10 and 7) in foster, but she doesn’t know her size and might knock over a small child. She was kept outside and mistreated for most of her life, so she will need some patience and understanding as she adjusts.  Lucy is very smart and eager to please, so I expect her to take to training well. She is mostly house trained and will sit comfortably in a crate or a room by herself. Although she does prefer to be where the action is. More than anything, she needs positive reinforcement and love. Lucy doesn’t quite know how to approach other dogs for play, so she barks at first. But she can be very submissive once she feels safe. Basic obedience and social training are all she needs to grow into a perfect, loving companion.
