Story
she came to our property starving and looking for food. we ran her off but she came back the next day. we already had 7 dogs which is over the legal limit but decided to take care of her and see if she would make it on the farm. the bad news was she had been living off whatever wild life she could find and had a taste for chickens. we raise chickens and after she killed and ate 7 of them we knew we couldn't keep her any longer. we noticed she was completely house trained and very very smart and extremely loving. fantastic with kids and other dogs. all she wants to do is please and she has fantastic manners when feeding time comes and always patient to wait being last to get her food. we manage to keep her out of the chicken pasture by putting on a electric collar but when she chickens came into our yard past the fence she could resist the temptation. she needs a good home and very soon, she is beautiful and has one blue eye. she will steal your heart when she stares at you.

Story
Meet Kayla! She is an 8 year old female Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix that weighs 48lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 6/2. What a beautiful girl she is! She is nervous being at the shelter and paces during our time together. The more time spent with her she comes to me to be petted. Sweet Kayla walks well on a leash and enjoyed going for a stroll to stretch her legs. Tho her fur appeared to be somewhat clean, her ears did show she had lived outside due to fly bites on her ears. As we walked past other dogs barking at her she was somewhat intimidated, but didn`t have any reaction. She didn`t show any interest in my treats, but I`m sure with the right one she will love them! She would love to find that special family that can shower her with all the love she so rightly deserves. Having a secured yard to stroll in then live inside to snooze the night away on her own dog bed is what she dreams of. Can you give this lovely girl the life she deserves?

Story
Hi! I'm Trixie! I'm an approximately 3 year old, female, Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. I was surrendered by my owner because they could not care for my skin allergies and I was beginning to suffer from lack of care. I am a very smart girl who loves to run and play! I am a professional at fetch and could play for hours on end. I love spending time with people and love to go on adventures! I do well with other dogs but a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. Meet and greets will be by approved application only. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative. I was diagnosed with a skin issue that seems to be either a metabolic issue or stress related. I have been treated with Bravecto as of 05/01/25. Once in a home along with a proper balanced diet, hopefully my hair will grow back to its normal beautiful self. If you are interested in adopting me, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application and RAC staff will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet with approved applicants.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. May 21, 2025, 7:06 pm
