OAKLEY Oakley is a beautiful Australian Shepherd - Rough Coat Collie (also referred to as Lassie dogs) mix; he has beautiful, thick fur. His ears are pricked like a collie, but his coat has all kinds of beautiful, colorful flex, and merle that he gets from his Aussie side. Oakley is extremely gentle ; he’s never met a stranger whether it’s people or other dogs he’s always interested in getting to know somebody and having a chance to play. Oakley has moderate energy level somewhere between a 4 and a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10; he’s plenty active for taking on leisurely walks or for running around in a dog park and for doing fun outdoorsy activities. On the other side, Oakley can be very calm and gentle. He’s a true snuggle bug. He loves to cuddle. He loves to come over to his humans and hunker down whether it’s a storm or a TV binge-a-thon. Oakley is right there and wants to keep everybody company. Oakley is really low maintenance; he’s perfectly housebroken and trained but he is used to having other dogs around, so we’re looking for a home where he has a friendly playful, similar size and energy, sister dog, or another submissive, male like him. Oakley is great with children. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. He loves to lick. He loves to kiss he loves to get petted and get belly rubs and any other kind of attention. He’s been gentle around even babies and toddlers, (although we still want parents to keep an eye on them!) The only reason that Oakley has to be rehomed is that his owner has developed a very severe allergy to her dogs and cannot keep either of them since they’ve always been indoor family pets they’re still getting to live that way, but it’s important that we find homes for them that are good matches where they can really be all over their people again. Oakley will be a great companion for a human or a couple a great friend and playmate for hurting breed knowledgeable children, preferably over the age of 10, as well as the perfect canine companion for another dog or two that he can have as new siblings where he’ll never feel alone. Meet Kody! A thoughtful eight-year-old Australian Shepherd currently in Haltom City, TX, whose tricolor coat and soulful eyes reflect the loyal heart of a pup ready for purpose and connection. Kody is the kind of companion who listens with his whole being and feels deeply, he’s more than just a pretty face with a herder’s instincts; he’s a steady, sensitive soul who longs to bond with his person. While he might not herd sheep, he’s always herding love, sticking close to the one he trusts most. And once you're his person? You're really his! Expect head nudges for butt scratches, quiet companionship, and the joy of being followed around like you're the most interesting thing in the world, because to Kody, you are. He doesn’t crave toys but will happily destroy a squeaky one in five minutes flat! He knows basic commands like sit, paw, and lay down, and thrives on routine and gentle connection. Car rides longer than a mile or two make him queasy, so he's happiest staying local. This clever boy needs a life filled with structure, activity, and a "job", be it hiking buddy, daily walking partner, or ranch hand in training. He’s known to be a bit of an escape artist, so a secure yard would be highly recommended, along with patient guidance to continue building confidence through positive reinforcement.
