Oakley is more of an Aussie-Border Collie mix and Indy looks like an Aussie and a Collie We are considering them a “bonded pair”because they haven’t experienced life without each other. Indy is the male - he is goofball who always wants to play. He’s a perfect energy level ranging from 4-7 depending on what’s going on. If you want to play Indy will be there! He can get up and on the go at your discretion and enjoys walks, being off-leash, hiking and all outdoor adventures. Oakley is the female; she is a very loving, affectionate girl. She LOVES to cuddle and even more, belly rubs! Her overall energy is about a 4-5. Oakley can get the zoomies but she prefers to chill most of the day. Oakley likes to keep Indy in check; she’s a typical female personality in the female-male relationship. Oakley is a cautious girl; she growls a little at Indy if he’s getting too close or bothering her. When she’s getting attention and Indy “snuggle-bombs” the moment she’s very vocal about it! When it comes to humans Indy is more outgoing. But like his sister he will hunker down next to you to snuggle. Indy loves to play with all other dogs whereas Oakley is more independent. She decides for herself whether or not to play. They both get along with other dogs in general. The reason Oakley and Indy need a new home is because their beloved owner has developed severe allergies to dogs. She is heartbroken having to rehome them but she’s been on vaccine regimens, has tried several prescribed medications and has even had sinus surgery. Nothing is working. We are looking for a home with a yard where Oakley and Indy can continue to be the indoor-outdoor spirited and loyal dogs they’ve always been. He loves butt scratches and belly-rubs, loves to be wherever his humans are. Kringle is living up to the Velcro-Dog nickname!   Kringle enjoys so many activities it’s impossible to list them all; we will share quite a few and are sure in a new home you can add more.   Kringle loves typical fetch and retrieve, running to catch frisbees and other backyard shenanigans  Outside the home he’s great on long hikes and most outdoor off-leash adventures once he’s connected to his new people.  Kringle has a beautiful blue and silver merle coat and half-blue/half-brown eye and one full blue eye   Kringle has a fun, goofy, engaging personality. He loves chasing laser pointers (maybe from living with a cat!)    Kringle is also gentle with babies and kids. He’s never shown any aggression with people or other dogs. Zen got his nickname because he’s generally very chilled-out, relaxed and just wanting to hang out with his humans. He’s definitely a “Velcro-Dog” who will follow his humans wherever they go, wanting to be part of the action. However, as easily as Zen can be cool, calm and collected, he can also Pep Up and be ready for outdoor fun or playing with another dog or two! Zen is very sweet and snuggly. He will want to be close to you if you’ll let him cuddle on the sofa or bed, but he really likes to sleep on the floor closest to the door He’s taking that position as though he’s guarding his flock Zen knows a few basic commands but he will welcome the chance to learn more, especially if there are treats involved! He’s very food-motivated and will perform for both treats and lots of praise. Zen is good on leash-walks; he really doesn’t pull and instead looks to his human to lead the way. He’s not confrontational with other dogs and would really enjoy a supervised dog park or a canine companion to hang with at home. Zen is very quiet most of the time, however when he wants to communicate you’ll hear him talk to you very excitedly. He doesn’t like to be left behind but if he whines it is only for a very short time. Zen is crate-trained and housebroken. When we rescued him he had only known life in a crate. His owners were Seniors and for whatever reason they kept their dogs in crates indoors much of the time. We welcomed the chance to transition Zen from constant-crate time to life on the outside He has really loved spending time with all people and other dog pals. Zen has a very moderate energy level of 5-6 out of 10 most of the time. He will be as active as you want him to be but is also content with leisurely walks and play time. Zen would be fine as an only-dog as long as his human is not leaving him all day every day. We would love a home where someone works out of the house, has a backyard to explore and either another submissive male or female similar-sized companion. Zen needs a human or humans who have patience introducing him to the whole, wide world. He’s progressed beautifully since we got him and is ready for the right Aussie-Experienced forever home.
