Story
Josie is approximately a 10-year-old Australian Shepherd loyal, smart, and full of love. She’s well-behaved, house-trained, and still has plenty of energy to enjoy walks, playtime, and snuggles. She would do best in a home without other pets. She can be aggressive toward other dogs and doesn’t care for cats, so she truly needs to be the only pet where she can get all the love and attention. She has been around chickens, sheep, goats, cattle, and horses and does very well with livestock. Like a true Aussie, she loves to work; and will often herd them in a circle over and over. I’m hoping to find her a forever home where she’ll be cherished, understood, and given the companionship she deserves.

Story
Bea Arthur - This sweet girl absolutely loves being outside, especially between 5–7 pm, when she can roll in the grass and keep an eye on all the neighborhood happenings. Bea has a wonderfully chill personality. She enjoys her walks and is steadily building up her stamina, but once she’s back home, she’s happiest curling up near you or right in your lap. She loves being in the crate, but she’s also fully comfortable hanging out in her foster space and has shown she’s potty trained, regularly going out every few hours and even holding it for longer stretches when needed. Bea is confident in public and loves car rides. Long drives may make her a bit sleepy, but she settles in nicely without fuss. While she hasn’t been introduced to her foster’s resident dogs yet due to quarantine, the shelter shared that she enjoyed spending time with her yard-mates previously. She's also great with cats! Bea Arthur is a gentle, affectionate companion who’s happiest by your side, whether she’s rolling in the grass, strolling through the neighborhood, or lounging indoors.

Story
This very attractive and sweet natured youngster is Tali, listed as a shepherd mix that was surrendered to the Mesquite animal shelter on 9/3 because the owner had too many animals. When I ran he pics though a dog scanner, I got quite a few suggestions as to possible breeds in her mix, some of which were Aussie Kelpie, Mountain Cur, and Dutch Shepherd. Whatever is in the mix, she is an adorable pup. She weighs 34lbs and has the most adorable standup ears! She is well behaved, calm, and gentle, is submissive and has a chill personality. She is not a high energy pup. This girl walks nicely on a leash. Tali was mildly interested in the toys I offered her, especially the squeaky ones. She tried to climb into my lap and seeks out attention, wanting to be close to a kind human friend. Tali deserves to be an inside girl, socializing and bonding with her people. Perhaps you can tell that this little girl has really captured my heart!

Story
Let's go Eevee! This fun, energetic girl will Pokémon-go with you on any adventure. Eevee is a rambunctious bundle of energy that would fit in great with a family that gets outdoors and has space for her to run around at home. She is a bit of an attention hog, so she will do best in a single-dog home, but she has lived with both a cat and a dog and may be able to settle in with the right animal friends with enough time and training. Eevee needs animal companions that are respectful of her space when food is out, or to be fed separately. Owners and animal friends would need to be able to handle her high energy play-drive, so similar sized dog friends may be best. Eevee has lived with a toddler for two years, but may be better with older children after a slow introduction. Eevee is smart and very trainable. Earlier in her puppyhood, Eevee did a 3 week board and train and has some basic obedience training that, while rusty, could easily be honed further. She's showed aptitude for agility-style courses, and can be convinced to do most anything with the right treats. Eevee's prior trainer has stated that he would give any new owner two free training sessions to support Eevee's transition into a new home. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Eevee, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
