She can jump 6 feet in the air - for someone who’s looking for a dog to play fetch to catch a ball to catch a frisbee basically to catch anything in the air, this is your girl! Julie will be an amazing running partner for someone who wants to jog or run. She has the energy to keep up but then she knows how to tone down once she’s back inside. If you’re interested in agility or any fun, canine games like barn chase or flyball Julie is SUPER SMART and a very quick study. Julie takes cues from other dogs really well, and if she had a dog to follow around that, I already knew how to do tricks she will learn even more quickly.. Julie’s energy is a good 8 to 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 ; she channels it really well with a lot of playtime, but she would do absolutely Vet with a playmate. She needs a young athletic male Companion, the bigger the better because this is a boss girl! She can keep up with any dogs activity level. Julia is also extremely affectionate typical of an Aussie. She will follow a human from room to room to room not letting him out of your sight. In a good way, she’s not typical of a herding dog as far as chasing people around, but she definitely will chase other dogs around if they want to play! Indoors she’s extremely cuddly and she really wants to be as close to her people as possible. Julie will make a great gal, wingman, chick magnet, BFF, co-pilot… anyone looking for a second in command will fall in love with Julie! Julie is an adorable full grown puppy at just a year old. She’s ready to find her forever home. Story
Harvey is a very handsome Aussie that needs another home.  His owner has five small children and it is too much for Harvey and causing him anxiety.  He is about 8 years old and he needs  a calm home. He would love lots of human contact and another dog would be great too but not a necessity.  He is still active and sweet.  He is certainly housebroken and a great best friend. He is smart, typical to his breed, and very warm and protective to the family, which includes a 9 MO, 2 YR, 4 YR, and 6 YR old. He currently attends daycare with other dogs as well. ##2751378##

Story
I’m posting on behalf of Luke’s owners, who are seeking to rehome him due to a serious medical diagnosis. They hope to find him a loving, stable home where he can thrive. Luke and his sister Leia (also available) have always been together, and keeping them together would be ideal, though they can be separated if needed. Luke and Leia were found as stray puppies three years ago and adopted directly from me. Luke has since grown up in a loving home, well socialized with people and other dogs. Luke is the calmer, more affectionate sibling. He loves people, enjoys being close to his humans, and is sweet, playful, and gentle. He can be shy with unfamiliar things and is sensitive to storms, but does well with his ThunderShirt (included). He has never shown aggression or biting behavior. Luke rides well in the car and is crate trained, dog-door trained, electronic-collar trained, and professionally trained.

Story
I’m posting on behalf of Leia’s owners, who need to rehome her due to a serious medical diagnosis. They hope to find her a loving, stable home where she can thrive. Leia and her brother Luke (also available) have always been together; keeping them together is preferred but not required. Leia and Luke were found as stray puppies three years ago and adopted directly from me. Leia has grown up in a loving, well-socialized home with people and other dogs. Leia is sweet, playful, and full of personality. She is spunkier than Luke and may take a few days to warm up, but once comfortable her affectionate nature shines. She can be shy with new things but is loving and has never shown biting or aggression. Leia hasn’t been around children but would likely be shy rather than aggressive. Her response to cats is unknown, though she lived near a fence-line cat. Leia rides well in the car and is crate trained, dog-door trained, and e-collar trained. She completed professional training.

Story
Meet Jasper! A soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix currently in Colorado Springs, CO, whose calm, loving heart is wrapped in a stunning 70-pound merle coat. With the gentle spirit of a wise old friend and the quiet loyalty of a true companion, Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He does well around children and enjoys their company, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He’s a mellow guy who doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even “middle”, a trick that’s as cute as it sounds! He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and perfectly content when left alone, making him a great match for someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule. While Jasper doesn’t require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks where he can take in the world at his own pace. His favorite pastime? Being in the same room as you, soaking up your presence like sunshine! After being involved in two traumatic incidents with unfamiliar dogs, one when he was a puppy and another more recently, Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know. He may bark or lunge when he sees them, especially near fences or in close proximity, and he continues to work through that with training and patient support. That said, he’s done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing that he can feel safe with the right structure and trust. He’s happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily. Jasper isn’t just a dog, he’s a constant companion, a quiet presence, and a gentle soul waiting for someone to see the beauty in his sensitive heart. If you’re seeking a loyal, low-key friend who will return your care with quiet affection and soulful eyes, Jasper may just be the one waiting to share your next chapter! To learn more or to welcome Jasper into your life, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com.
