Story
Pluto is a handsome, fluffy, tri-colored Australian Shepherd. He's a year old and weighs 34 pounds. He was surrendered on 9/25. The kennel card stated he was unwanted. The surrender form indicated he was too active and needed more training. He is not neutered. The surrender form said that his previous owners had found him and that they had had him for nine months. He was both an outdoor and indoor dog. They stated that he was friendly with other dogs and absolutely loves children! They also stated that he knows the sit, paw, and lay down commands. He did sit and give his paw for me. He took the offered treats gently. He's so friendly that his whole hind end wiggles. Australian Shepherds are very intelligent and if their minds are not kept active, they will get into things they are not supposed to. They need a lot of activity and stimulation. They need training. I get the feeling that Pluto's previous owners did not have the time to put into this special dog. He does repeatedly jump on you and needs to be reminded and trained not to do so! He does want to please so if you've got the time to invest in this deserving dog, your rewards will be great! He walks well on a leash. He didn't appear to have a problem with other dogs.

Story
Jade and her sister were dumped in the country when they were just a few months old. Sadly, she has been in foster care for 8 months and she would love to have a family to call her own. Her sister went to Canada a couple of months ago and was adopted so Jade is without her playmate. Jade is a very sweet girl with an easy going personality.  She is great with dogs of all sizes, cats and children.  She is crate trained and rides well in the car. Jade is a submissive girl who loves affection.  She just turned a year old and her adoption fee is $300. ##1698694##

Story
Sparky came to our rescue in rough shape. He was emaciated and covered in fleas. Luckily,  those things are easy to fix and he healed quickly.  Sparky absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with at least one dog for him to play with. His foster mom says that he is generally quiet and an easy boy. He is crate trained and working on leash training. Sparky is a year old, he weighs 30 pounds and his adoption fee is $350. ##1702042##

Story
**LOOK WHO’S READY FOR ADOPTION!** Sophie has a very sad story. A Good Samaritan that we’ve worked with in the past reached out to one of our capture team volunteers about a scared little doggie living in a field. He saw her when he was driving to work and when he drove home 10 hours later, she was sitting in the same spot. He picked her up and immediately called us. We reached out to a wonderful foster family and they agreed to take her, so we made her an official Duck Dog! We realized quickly that Sophie had some health issues that we needed to address, but this is ALL behind her now and she’s ready for her forever home! Please read the bio from her foster mom below: Sophie is the adorable little girl abandoned on a desolate road in Ferris. A Good Samaritan saw her frozen with fear and picked her up. She wobbled when she walked. Our vet said her hips were really bad. She had bilateral hip dysplasia. The vet recommended that she have surgery on both hips. The first surgery was in April; the second surgery was in June. She is healing nicely but she may need steps or a ramp to get on the couch or bed. She doesn’t need to be jumping down at this point until they are completely healed. Sophie is a mini-Double Merle Australian Shepherd. The vet estimates she is 3 ½ years old now. She weighs about 15 pounds. She is partially blind and partially deaf. She loves to be close to you and she navigates just fine. Probably due to her sight issue, she does tend to be at your feet and you need to make sure she sees you move or tell her to move. She will do fine with children that are older and quieter than young children. Sophie is the sweetest dog and her foster parents adore her. After all she’s been through, she deserves the very best. She loves to run and play and needs a playmate. Bigger dogs don’t bother her at all. She is crate trained and leash trained. She has all her shots and she’s spayed and microchipped. If you are looking for a beautiful, loyal companion, ready to go anywhere with you, then Sophie is for you! If you’re interested in adopting Sophie, please complete the adoption application. We’ve listed the link below. Her adoption fee is $200. Adoption application link: https://www.duckteam6.org/adoption-application/ #LetsGetSophieToHerForeverHome #LoveHeals October 1, 2023, 10:08 pm

Story
Hi everyone, this is Chicho. I rescued him from the streets when he was young and has been with me since due to me not being able to find him a home. I am moving and don’t think I am able to give him the care and attention he needs. He is a huge cuddle bug and loves to be by my side every second he can. He does not like strangers, and is fear aggressive; so you will need to meet him a few times to see if it could be a good fit. He needs an experienced person who can help continue his training, and be comfortable with waiting for him to come out of his shell.
