**RESCUE ONLY**Meet Maui! She is a 5 mo old female Black Mouth Cur/Siberian husky mix that weighs 27lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/25 as she was abandoned. Maui is a beauty with soft, clean fur and docked tail. It appears she was well cared for at one time. She walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. She is Rescue Only due to an issue with possibly her hips or right leg. When walking her right leg is a bit stiff, and her gait a bit uneven. She doesn`t let this stop her tho. She gets around well and can`t resist a zoomie in the yard. She has a gentle loving personality and will lay down next to you to be close and cuddly. It`s very clear how wonderful of a loving companion she would be. Living indoors being showered with love and affection is what she dreams of. Timber is a very smart dog she’s been trained to sit and she’s house trained, played with families and friends dogs very well. She’s loved around the house and will be missed but with school and work it’s hard for me to get her out and let her live and I would rather her have a family that can make that happen, I hate to let her go but I’d rather her have a more better life in a better environment.

Meet this smart, bright eyed tricolored beauty named Friday. She is a 10 month old 36 pound mixed breed(possibly Border collie/Australian Shepherd) that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/17 as a stray. She’s very clean and it’s obvious she’s been well taken care of. She’s medium sized but then at 10 months will still grow a little more. She’s a delightful girl. She had a real burst of energy when she got out into the yard demonstrating a playful, enthusiastic, fun loving side. However, she soon got tired of the heat and stood by the door. Once she got inside, she decided to chill. She had shown that she was very eager to please. She’s very sweet and affectionate. She already knows the sit, shake and down commands. She’s only been here a short while and has become one of our staff’s favorites. She walked right beside me on the leash. She did her business when she was out in the yard. I was rewarded for spending time with her with tender kisses.

Meet Frasier! He is a 3yr old neutered male German Shepherd/Australian Kelpie mix that weighs 52lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/25 as a stray. You can’t help but stare as he is so very handsome! He most likely has lived outside for a while as he has some damage to his ear tips. No matter what he has been through he is still a calm, gentle, loving and well behaved boy. He walks very well on a leash, takes treats gently, and wants to stay close to his human companions. Its very clear to see how loyal and loving he will be to his future family. Out in the yard he enjoyed investigating all the smells, but looked back at me to know where I was. He didn’t show any interest in the other dogs barking at him, yet we do ask if you have another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Frasier has a thick coat and was very patient while I brushed him. Having a secured yard to play in, then back inside where it is cool where he can enjoy his loved ones is what he longs for. He is truly a wonderful pup, and taking a look into his beautiful eyes, you will fall for him as we have.
