Story
About the dog: Basil is well socialized and had consistent and extensive training using positive reinforcement and clicker training growing up. He has great house manner, super smart, potty trained, crate trained, loves agility, walk on leash nicely and can be offleashed. He enjoys hiking, city walk or just hanging out on the couch. His problems: He was resource guarding around food since day one. We were able to train it out of him(toward people) when he's around 6 months old, but he still guards against other dogs. He's very affectionate, and very friendly to strangers, but only when he initiates it, and does not like being hugged. He's super nice and sweet 95% of the time, and gets comments such as 'well behaved, friendly & sweet' all the time on the street. Although rare, when stressed, he can show aggression without warning. He does have bite history, and has bitten 3 people so far (no stitches needed).

04/15/24 11:51Reason animal needs rescue: Extended length of stay (intake date of beginning of January), severe kennel stress despite medical therapy, poor quality of life in shelter, very active dog being confined to life in kennel Type: BehaviorDate animal needs rescue by: ASAP, has been on needs rescue for several monthsImpound type: OSOff stray hold: YesAdditional notes: See behavior notes below. Very anxious in kennel, has not shown signs of aggression but very poor kennel presence and extremely high level of stress in shelter is making her behavior and mental state deteriorate further.SD02/20/24 15:12She is still lunging at kennel door. After showing her the leash she calmed down and started crying, I opened then kennel door and she went on her bed and laid down and crawled into leash loop. Able to walk and do complete handling on her. While in the volenteer room she is loose and wiggly, has zoomies but comes back and lays on lap. Unsure about others but after introducing starngers she warms up.02/07/24 14:16Dog has been placed on urgent needs rescue due to the following behaviors documented below.02/07/24 14:16 Front of kennel barking at handler. Opened gate and attempted to leash, dog tries to grab leash with mouth, I walked farther into kennel and dog backed up with stiff tail avoiding the leash. 02/06/24 09:21Lunging at kennel, barking, hackles raised, when opening kennel door `Bella` walks back and barks from far. Unable to get out at this time.

Story
04/04/24 13:34notes from foster:Meet Citrine, a vibrant dog bursting with energy and affection. Citrine`s zest and energy is infectious and will thrive in a home with just as much energy. While he may need some guidance in the housebreaking department, Citrine`s eagerness to learn, play and give full-body hugs more than make up for it. His endearing clumsiness never fails to bring a smile to your face, making every moment with him a delightful adventure. Already familiar with basic commands like `sit` and `down,` and fully crate trained, Citrine enjoys winding down by selecting a toy from his basket before settling into his crate for some relaxation after a day of exploration. If you`re ready to open your heart and home to a loving companion who needs patience and training, then Citrine is the perfect match for you. He`s very good with cats. I have a resident cat, and Citrine just sniffs, no shown aggression. He doesn`t lunge at stray cats in the neighborhood either

Story
Tippy enjoys sun bathing in redwood city foster home. she was rescued after hit by car, received surgery and thoroughly rehabbed. from vet estimate, she could be 5 years old or more. she is around 30 lb, spayed, all shots, looking for a loving home. she is house trained and ideal for human who needs a quiet companion. best if there is no other dog or cat as her current foster home doesn't have other pet. tippy would be good to keep someone company who lives a quiet life. she is quiet at home and easy to take care of by a kind hearted person with a routine. All dogs are fostered in private homes, there is no facility open to public. Home visit would be arranged for matched application. We encourage everyone to visit public shelters, and save another dog's life.

Story
Sadie is an incredibly sweet, affectionate 4-year-old Sheperd mix (29lbs). We adopted her as an 8-week-old puppy from Family Dog Rescue in June 2020 and like many pandemic puppies, she is a timid dog who takes time to adjust to new people and surroundings. We already had an older 12-pound poodle mix when we adopted Sadie. While they seemed to get along well while Sadie was a puppy, the last couple of years has led to increased friction. Sadie has benefitted from working with a trainer and knows multiple commands. At times, she can be a bit reactive to some dogs when walking on leash, but generally does well and follows our training techniques. She sleeps in her crate at night and is comfortable spending time in her pen. She would do great in a single pet household with no children. She goes on walks/runs, loves to chew and to play with her toys. She is a very sweet dog and we are heartbroken to rehome her. We will gladly provide her bed, crate, pen and toys.

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bella was bought from a breeder in Washington state 11 years ago. She was my father’s dog and my dad died 3 weeks ago. She is full of love and energy but she needs regular exercise and new things to learn. She does not like small children and our next door neighbors have 2 small kids . Also we live in Menlo Park which is not dog friendly. There are no large dog parks here so she doesn’t get much room to play ball and my mother is walking Bella 4 miles a day . If you have land, no small children, don’t drive a motorcycle, bus or skateboard she will be very happy. She’s very loving and funny. We hate to give her away but she is too physically demanding for my mom and I .
