Keely is a puppy! She's 7 months old! She was surrendered by her owner to the San Martin Animal Shelter and she was absolutely terrified of all the new sounds, smells and people. She is a great little girl who just wants to be loved! We don't know very much about her previous life except she was loved and had people who cared about her. She would love to have another little dog to play with and she is great with gentle cats. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current with her vaccines. She is house trained and loves to go for walks. She hasn't been around children and would probably not be happy with rowdy kids but would be great with quieter children. FOSTER CARE! VIDEO AVAILABLE! Hello, my name is Rudy and I'm a 3-year-old, neutered Border Collie mix that currently weighs about 45lbs. I'm a sweet and friendly guy that's hoping for a family that understands my special needs don’t make me any less loveable! I have a chronic balance issue that causes me to have a bit of a wobble, especially when I'm excited. But don't worry, I'm still a happy go lucky guy and I've adapted just fine! Sometimes other animals don't understand my signature wobble, so I'd like meet any residents dogs to make sure we get along. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Rudy! ID# A960272 My foster family says I'm the bestest boy! Here's how I've been in their home: Rudy is such a good boy! He has a bit of a wobble, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying daily walks, going for short trots, and playing with the family. He does great in the car. He can jump in on his own (we act as a spotter just in case) and he sits patiently during the entre drive just taking in the sights and smells. He loves squeaky toys and sometimes carries them with him on walks. This adorable boy is very affectionate and is a constant companion. He will follow you around the house like a fur and LOVES to cuddle. We have been able to leave him home for the work day without any accidents. He will try to chase small animals like birds, cats, and wildlife so he will probably be best as the only child. He is an absolute joy to have and we hope he finds his forever family soon. Foster Care Hello, I'm Erin! I'm an 11 month old, 45 pound, spayed female, Boarder Collie / Shepherd mix. I'm a sweet, loving and oh so playful young lady. I am looking for a home that is ready for fun in the sun! I'm an active gal who loves to be outside and I've been dreaming of beach days and long hikes with my new family. I am super sweet and love everyone but as a young boarder collie, my job is to tell everyone where to go. Because of this I would do best in a home without littles, like little kids or cats. On the other hand, us boarder collies are some of the smartest dogs around and we love to learn. I'm sure that with the help of my family, I can grow up to be the best doggy every! She has beautiful shiny black fur and is just getting in her fluffy adult coat. She is 11 months old and is a tall girl about 23 inches at her shoulders. She has a white spot on her chest and a few white hairs at the end of her long tail. She loves walks and playing fetch. She is still learning basic obedience and manners and practices every day. She is housebroken in my home and asks to go out by going to the door and touching the doorknob. She is very food motivated. STABBED BY HIS OWNER, NOW HES ALL ALONE Rescue preferred This is not the life Buster deserves to be living Buster came to the shelter in July after being stabbed by his owner with a sword. He was seen by an offsite vet, his owner was arrested, and he has been here as evidence ever since. His owner’s case was dismissed due to a lack of evidence (unfortunately), and Buster is now FINALLY able to leave the shelter after being cooped up in a kennel for over FIVE MONTHS. We prefer that Buster goes to a rescue, as we do not want Buster to ever have to go back to the person who did this to him— he deserves better. He deserves love. Buster’s story is sad, but please do not bring him into your home unprepared just because his story tugs at your heart. Anyone who takes Buster home needs to be prepared for a long and potentially rocky and frustrating decompression process. Being in a shelter for so long is not easy and takes a toll on a dog’s psyche (and behaviors). He needs space and grace to heal. Currently, Buster’s mind is all over the place so it takes him a bit to connect with people because he is just too overwhelmed. He needs someone who understands that it may not be love at first sight. Someone patient who will not necessarily shower him with love but will give him structure, boundaries, and a safe place to rest his bones. Buster seems to want to be with dogs, but again, he needs to decompress. He lacks manners and shows some dominant behaviors, possibly due to how stressed he is. We cannot say for sure how his opinion of dogs and behaviors toward them will change once he is in a home, but currently he would do best with SLOW intros (decompression!!!!) and a tolerant, friendly dog. ##2619651##
