Story
Bella is an 11-12 year old, 55 lb, female border collie who is microchipped and spayed. My grandma and I adopted her at 1-2 years old from Norcal Border Collie Rescue & Adoption after she was found with signs of abuse. She was initially wary of men but has warmed up over the years. Unsure how she'd react to small children. Loves greeting other dogs but doesn't like them returning the greeting, especially bigger dogs. Had a good relationship with my mom's gentle pitbull, who didn't mind if Bella nipped at him. In 2019 I moved away and couldn't take her. She's been keeping my grandma company since then, but grandma is now too old and finds caring for Bella too stressful. And unfortunately I'm still unable to take her where I live now. Bella absolutely LOVES walks and gets excited just hearing the word. Plays "keep away" with balls instead of fetch. She's a sweet girl who loves pets, walks, and affection. We are looking for a loving home with plenty of walks for her remaining years.

06/07/24 04:28DOG DAY OUT REPORT Today I: I met two new friends today! I was a bit shy and nervous at first, but once they helped me with my leash and harness, I leapt into the car, all set for adventure. I settled in and felt the wind in my fur while we drove, and I even took a little nap on the way back. We arrived at the park, and my tail couldn`t stop wagging. I saw so many fascinating things: dogs running around, people playing, bikes zooming by, and cars driving past. Everything was so interesting, and my new friends made it even better by giving me lots of treats. I sniffed every inch of grass I could find and discovered new scents. The whole place was full of exciting smells! Then, as if that wasn`t enough, we went to Pet Express. My nose went wild as soon as we walked in. I sniffed all the food, toys, and treats, bouncing from one aisle to the next. The shelves were packed with things I wanted to play with and chew on, and I could hardly contain my excitement. By the end of the day, I was exhausted but so happy. My new friends really knew how to make it fun, and I can`t wait for the next adventure!Three Words to Describe Me are: Curious, energetic, joyful.Notes from My Walker: Bella is a delight. She`s a bit shy and nervous at first. When we met her, she barked at us, and the shelter volunteer had to help us get her harness and collar on. However, once we did, she was ready to go. With a little pull on the leash, she rode beautifully in the car. She showed interest in other dogs, people, and small animals like lizards and birds, but she was always happy to be distracted with a treat or two. We went for a long walk, and she enjoyed sniffing the grass along the way. She took in all the new scents, her tail wagging gently as she explored. Our visit to Pet Food Express was a big hit—Bella sniffed everything, from the aisles of treats to the toys on display, and seemed to enjoy just hanging out in the store. She was fascinated by the different smells and occasionally nosed around in search of treats. On the way back to the shelter, she fell asleep, tired from the day`s adventure. Despite her nap, she woke up friendly and bright-eyed when the staff came to return her. Bella is such a sweet, lovely girl. We need to approach her slowly and calmly at first, but she deserves a home where she can go on long walks or even run and receive lots of love. Her gentle spirit and friendly nature make her the perfect companion for anyone will

04/04/24 13:34notes from foster:Meet Citrine, a vibrant dog bursting with energy and affection. Citrine`s zest and energy is infectious and will thrive in a home with just as much energy. While he may need some guidance in the housebreaking department, Citrine`s eagerness to learn, play and give full-body hugs more than make up for it. His endearing clumsiness never fails to bring a smile to your face, making every moment with him a delightful adventure. Already familiar with basic commands like `sit` and `down,` and fully crate trained, Citrine enjoys winding down by selecting a toy from his basket before settling into his crate for some relaxation after a day of exploration. If you`re ready to open your heart and home to a loving companion who needs patience and training, then Citrine is the perfect match for you. He`s very good with cats. I have a resident cat, and Citrine just sniffs, no shown aggression. He doesn`t lunge at stray cats in the neighborhood either
