Adoption Fee: $700Meet Jelly Belly! 9 week old Border Collie mix Sweet, social, and snuggly Currently in a foster home and thriving   Jelly Belly may have had a rough start— dumped at a shelter at just six weeks old— but this joyful, resilient pup hasn’t let that dim his spark. Since coming into foster care, he’s grown into a confident, affectionate, and hilarious little guy with a heart full of love and a personality that keeps everyone smiling.   Jelly starts his day around 6:30 AM, has meals at 7:30 AM, noon, and 5:45 PM, and loves spending his days romping around the yard with his foster siblings (a 2-year-old and a 9-year-old dog) or playing king-of-the-toys in his oversized dog bed. He’s also met a wide range of other dogs— big, small, young, old— and made friends with them all. He gets along great with the family’s cat too, always respectful and never chasing. While he hasn’t been out in public yet due to vaccinations, Jelly has already learned to use the doggy door and is well on his way to being potty trained.   He sleeps in his crate at night (with just a little protest), but after his middle-of-the-night potty break, he happily joins his people in bed. He loves to snuggle and will even tuck himself into a closet for a cozy nap if he needs a little quiet time. Despite his young age, Jelly has shown great self-awareness and emotional intelligence—he knows when to turn the charm on and when to chill.   Like any puppy, Jelly is in a teething phase and will happily chew on toys, bones… or occasionally your ankles. Luckily, he’s easily redirected and already learning his manners. He barks occasionally, but only when he wants something— like attention, a toy, or help hopping onto the couch. And while he’s not a big digger, he has done a little gardening now and then.   Jelly has been around kids from ages 4 to 20 and charmed them all. He’s energetic, playful, whip-smart, and full of heart. He would thrive in a home with other pets, children, and lots of activity—a place where he can keep growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.   Why adopt Jelly? Because he’s the kind of dog everyone falls in love with. He’s funny, expressive (those eyes!), well-socialized, and full of joy. His foster family says it best: “If we didn’t already have two dogs, we would’ve kept him ourselves.”   Adopt Jelly Belly and bring home the sweetest mix of fun, fluff, and affection you could ask for.                    June 12, 2025, 4:38 am

Story
Sterling is a PERFECT SIZE 31 pound young (1.5-2 year old) female border collie mix. She has healed beautifully from a broken leg after being hit by a car. She is housebroken and crate trained. She can be shy at first but warms up well to both adults and older children. She gets along well with other dogs and is ok with her foster cat. She may benefit from living with another dog for leash walking confidence. She gets nervous in the car but doubt she has been acclimated to car travel. She is VERY sweet and ready to learn anything new! Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc May 27, 2025, 2:51 pm

Story
IN Santa Cruz! Meet Ranger, a 8 year old Border Collie male. Ranger is is typical border collie who is playful and super smart. Ranger came to us after his owner passed away. He was loved but didn’t get out too much. He was 1 of 4+ plus dogs and we think the dogs were left to their own devices. With this being said, Ranger can be nervous in public and is more of a homebody.  Ranger can be good with other dogs when he gains trust with them but we think he be best suited for a home as the only pet (no cats). Ranger’s ideal home would be: -a home where he can be a priority  -a home experienced with border collies or other herding breeds  -owners that are understanding of his sensitives in pubic  -would be best suited as the only pet Ranger is a fun loving border collie but he also has an off switch! He is perfectly happy relaxing on the couch hanging out with his owners. Ranger will make his people very happy but they also need to be understanding of his background and manage his environment.  Ranger is; fully house trained, has good house manners, no nuisance barking and is easy to live with. He also has some basic training under the right circumstances.  Ranger is is neutered, up-to-date and microchipped. If you would like to learn more about this sweet guy, please submit an application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.
