Story

Wanda is the perfect combo - the legs of a giraffe, ears of a fox, and fur highlights any hairdresser would be proud of. She is a sweet, sweet soul who is still learning to trust and settle in. She is a little uncertain of other people and dogs on walks but LOVES praise and looks to you for guidance. While she is really good at hanging while we work, or being lazy when we are, we know she's got some energy in there! We think she'd do great in an active home - whether that be going on runs, or hikes, or maybe even a medal winning agility dog if she aims high. We think she would thrive in a house with another dog sibling to show her the ropes. She becomes so playful once she has warmed up to another dog, and becomes much more confident with a buddy by her side. She immediately loved the visitors we've had to our house and we get full body wiggles and whines of excitement when we leave the room even just for a second and come back. She's a lover! Wanda is getting braver and more confident each day, and her puppy continues to come out! She could spend all day outside, watching the squirrels and birds, sniffing flowers and rolling in the grass. Potty training is a work in progress but we have already seen improvements. She has been sleeping in her crate at night and whining in the morning when she needs to get out. We have yet to see her use the bathroom on a leash however - she's stubbornly good at holding it and likes her privacy, so she consistently goes to a certain spot in our yard. She's very food motivated and responsive to any redirecting her away from things, especially for a puppy who is curious about everything! Don't you Wanda bring her home?! ##2841948##

Huey is a 4 year old pit/border collie mix (we think?). He is a great dog, but he does not get along with our 2 year old son and has shown anxiety around him. He is an active boy, loves to run and play as much as possible. He is also a snuggle bug. Loves rubs and attention and will follow you anywhere. He is kennel and house trained and up to date with vaccines. He would do well in a home without young children or cats as he tried to herd our cats and needed to be kept separate. Older teens are fine.

This is Odin! He is a 9 year old Border Collie. Once he gets used to someone, he loves to be around them. Complete transparency, He is a reactive dog and will not get along with strangers. He has the following neurotic tendencies: Compulsive habits: Licking the floor or legs when stressed or feels he needs a "job", biting the closest thing to him (Furniture item, NOT people) Restlessness: consistent jumping at things in the air trying to "catch" them, and an inability to settle down and rest even after playing. Fixations: Staring intensely at walls or lights that are casted on walls/ items. Destruction: When stressed or in a "trace" he tends to bite or tear up furniture. He does not destroy any other items when not in this state. Vocalizing: Barking when scared or hears a delivery driver. He is such a handsome and sweet boy, he just needs someone that can give him more time and energy. He loves catching frisbees and cuddling close and he has the best "smile".

It has been a heart breaking decision for my family but we have come to the conclusion to rehome our dog. A friend reached out to me asking if I could take her dog over a year ago and I said yes before realizing how much time Luna needs. Luna is 6 years old now, and she is a border collie mix. She has separation anxiety which means she will use the bathroom all over the house if no one is home even though she is potty trained. She is crate trained, but I feel awful putting her in there anytime I need to leave. On walks she she gets too aggressive with other dogs thinking it is playing so I always try my best to avoid other dogs or people. She is a cuddle bug, loves to play with her toys, and even lets me dress her up. I just can't work 10+hours a day and leave her in her kennel, she should go to someone that has a yard and more time for her. I dont want to just take her to a shelter and dump her there.

In early December, Yodi was found abandoned in Ramah, NM, at the cabins our spay & neuter clinic team were staying in.He was terrified of people & emaciated.It took an hour to convince him we were okay.Just as she was packing up to leave, our vet was able to squeeze him in for an examination and vaccinations.At this point he shut down completely, almost frozen with fear.With a NM health certificate in hand, we brought him home to Broomfield, CO to put meat on his bones, bolster his spirit & see if we could find this very sweet boy the perfect family.In the last few months he has gained 10 pounds and his personality has done a complete 180. He is super outgoing with people. He does take a minute to be comfortable with new dogs, but then becomes fast friends.He likes to "herd" all of his stuffies into one big pile.He has some crazy kangaroo skills, so will need a 6 ft. or taller solid fence & he'll need a dog buddy in his new home.He's still a pup, learning the ropes at about a year old.
