Ella is an 8month old Border Collie. She is super energetic and social. She is happiest when she is with people and other furry friends. She gets along with everyone. She is young and still exploring the world around her, so she sometimes needs a little reassurance to try new things. Ella is spayed and has her shots. She is house trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She’s getting better at the leash, although she gets excited and sometimes pulls. She loves the outdoors! She’s a cuddle bug and loves to be as close as possible. She is so lovable and happy, Ella is very chatty. She tries to communicate both vocally and with her paws. She will also try to lead you to what she wants. She’s VERY smart.

Story
Our little beautiful Roxy is something else! She is so intelligent and happy, and wants to be with a family. She adores children, and the seven year old in the house has taught her to fetch and lots of other things. She is gentle and precious, only about 30 pounds at a year, so is smaller, and loves getting attention. She is crate trained and house trained, enjoys other dogs, loves being outside, and walks well on a leash. She is ready for her forever best friend. She enjoys water, tummy rubs, and showing off how smart she can be. She is a bit frightened of cars rushing by and can be a little shy when she first meets you, but when she comes in for scratches, it is such an amazing feeling. Roxy enjoys everything about having a family, and cannot wait to find her forever!

Story
My name is Summer and I haven’t met a person or another dog that I don’t love. My foster mom tells me I’m a good girl all the time because I do my business outside and mostly listen when she gives me commands. I’m still trying to remember to slow down when we walk together but that’s a tough one because I’m just so happy to outside. I love to play fetch, frisbee, and chase outside. I’m a great hiking partner and then I’m up for a great cuddle session.  I will do best in an active house where I have a yard to play in or with someone who is committed to take me on walks. I also get to go to the dog park to get out some energy. My foster mom says the song, ain’t nothin gonna break my stride, is always playing in my head. No one can rain on my parade. I’m excited to meet you and find my forever home. ##2554687##

Story
Meet Ogallala, but everyone calls her Olga! This sweet, beautiful girl is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle and silly heart that will make you smile. When she came to Soul Dog in 2021, she was shy and fearful, but thanks to her long term foster family, she has made amazing progress.Olga has gone from hiding in her favorite corner to relaxing on the sofa with her foster pack, greeting her family at the door, and even asking for affection. One of her favorite pastimes now is shouting out the window at people and dogs passing by. She really loves letting her voice be heard! While she has gained confidence, Olga still has a few fears. Loud noises, sudden banging, or busy sounds like kids playing basketball can startle her. When she is unsure, she may bolt and then settle in a safe spot. With gentle guidance and patience, she is learning that the world can be safe and fun.Olga is looking for a kind, understanding person who can give her love, calm guidance, and the time she needs to feel confident in a new home. Because she is so comfortable in her foster home, a gradual transition to her forever family will help her adjust and thrive.Olga is a sweet, joyful girl who is ready to bring love, smiles, and laughter to her forever home. If you would like to meet her, submit an application at www.souldog.org. For questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Winston is a 14 month Mini Aussie with a big heart and even bigger potential. He has grown into a smart, affectionate, and energetic young dog. Winston is very active and thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation. Due to a demanding work schedule, we are unable to give him the time and activity level he truly deserves, which is why we are making the difficult decision to find him a new home where he can flourish. He gets along great with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine friend. Winston knows all his basic commands and even knows how to shake paw. He is eager to please and very intelligent, making him a great candidate for continued training. Winston can be a bit anxious on leash and would benefit from training classes and a confident, patient owner who can help build his confidence. With guidance and consistency, he has all the tools to become a wonderful family companion. Please apply if you are interest and we can schedule a meet up!
