Story
Bruce is a 10-month-old puppy who’s funny, silly, and full of energy. He’s a little wild in a puppy way and absolutely loves being outside—running, exploring, and burning off energy. He would do best with someone who has a backyard and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle like hiking or long walks. This isn’t a rushed rehoming. I care deeply about Bruce and am looking for the right fit, not just any home. He deserves someone who can give him space, time, and a lot of love.

Story
Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! Basic Info: Name: Benito Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 46 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Happy, Playful & Full of Zest: Benito is pure sunshine on four paws! Always ready to play, explore, or lean in for a pet, he’s got an infectiously joyful personality that will keep a smile on your face. He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. He needs companionship, safety, and interaction. Tethering a dog outside is not only dangerous but also deeply unfair to a social, intelligent dog like Benito. He deserves to be inside, where he can be close to his people and thrive. Why Adopt Benito? Because Benito brings joy wherever he goes. He’s playful without being overwhelming, smart without being stubborn, and affectionate without being clingy. He’s the perfect match for an active individual or family who wants a loyal sidekick with a big heart. Adopt Benito and experience the happiness of having a dog who truly loves life—and loves you. Story
Meet Arnold ! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who is still very puppy-like; curious and on the move a lot. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up with you in the house. We believe this guy is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has some herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He will make an awesome companion for someone active and willing to provide guidance and consistency. Exercise wise, Arnold needs at least 1.5-2 hours of activity a day, making him medium-high energy. He loves to walk, run, play tug, play with other dogs, and explore new places! He currently is learning drop it, sit, and recall and doing very well. Arnold is shy with new people and tends to avoid/ignore at first but then he begins to show more of his personality. He is in a foster home with a dog trainer and is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He has the classic German Shepherd trait of bonding to his person and following them around (which makes him an ease to walk on leash and even take off leash in safe spaces), but he’s also learning to be okay on his own. He loves to be pet and will melt for belly rubs! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. Story
Lady, cattledog mix, 5 yo, 60 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. It is hard to understand how this gentle angel, still almost a puppy, could be abandoned. We so hope to find stable loving home for her. Adoption fee $325. Story
Meet Waldo — our one-of-a-kind survivor  Waldo is a handsome 1-year-old Pitt-Heeler mix with a heart of gold and a story of strength. This gentle soul has been through more than most — he’s a distemper survivor, which left him with some neurological quirks and a little extra wobble (dance prance) in his step. But what really sets him apart isn’t what he’s been through… it’s how much love he still has to give.  Once a likely feral dog, Waldo’s world has been scary and unpredictable — but he’s learning what it means to feel safe, one day and one treat at a time. He’s still shy with strangers, but with his foster, he’s a total goofball: jogging everywhere he goes, prancing through the house, and proudly hogging every blanket and fuzzy pillow he can find.  Waldo is looking for a very special person — maybe that’s you? He needs a calm, patient, and loving home where safety and routine come first. Someone who:  Feels rewarded by earning trust, not instant affection  Can provide a secure yard and careful handling (he will bolt if scared — he earned his name that way!)  Understands that treats = love in Waldo’s world  Enjoys cozy nights in and slow progress that leads to a lifetime bond Waldo enjoys other dogs and could thrive with a confident canine buddy. Cats? Waldo LOVES cats, even if they don't always understand him. He may never be the dog who greets every stranger or walks perfectly at heel, but he’ll be your dog — loyal, silly, tender, and true. The kind of love that feels hard-won and absolutely worth it.  Waldo is looking for his Forever, or a new or even a part-time foster so we can get him used to, and more confident with, more people. If you can offer patience, safety, and a whole lot of heart, Waldo is waiting for you. Learn more or apply to meet him at EAPL.com.  His adoption fee is $375 February 18, 2026, 7:52 pm
